Of all the companions and Doctors, the two of them were the ones who acted most like siblings then any other type of relationship. I would love to have seen a second season and the Christmas special with her as the active companion at the time, you know she would have dragged him into her family's Christmas dinner/celebration kicking and screaming figuratively and literally if necessary. 😎

plus if Handy remembers Rose killing his mum (Donna) in the alternate universe I doubt he’d want to be with her at all…
Donna and the Doctor technically ARE his parents since he has both their genes and their minds/personalities rather than just being the Doctor’s clone/Duplicate…
heck, even Jenny despite being a clone was treated as the Doctor’s daughter in the DW universe so why wouldn’t the metacrisis be treated the same way (other than the Doctor seemingly using him as his identical looking scapegoat)?

I never minded Clara becoming more and more like the Doctor throughout their run (it makes sense, the Doctor is definitely someone who rubs off on the people he travels with) but it was really done sooooo much better with the DoctorDonna arc, especially since they started out so different from one another, and there was never a romantic interest on either side
Edit: the vibrating/caps lock text when she yells is sending me! 😭

The thing is, despite there never being a romantic interest, Donna x Doctor would've been one of the best ones as they genuinely have that chemistry. They have that true vibe that I never felt between Doctor and Rose.

to The Doctor, Donna was never a companion, she was his best friend, he even says so himself as the 14th doctor. that's what makes donna moments so great, its not a helpless girl or boy following everything the doctor says, she actually takes charge and is a great balance for david tennant's doctor

ten and donna's relationship is so amazing. i love companions who are just turbo besties with the doctor! one of the few gripes i have with other platonic who dynamics like amy and eleven is that the writers like to add romance to it for drama, when the characters are actually at their best without it. the best thing about ten and donna is that from their first appearance, it's clear that they don't see each other that way. true platonic soulmates who not only made each other better but made the universe better!

Amelia Pond may be the “real” Doctor’s mother-in-law, but Donna Noble is, by some logic, Corin’s **actual mother**, which makes both Doctors honorary gingers: one by marriage, the other by instantaneous human-Time Lord biological metacrisis.

These two turned "what?!" into an iconic catchphrase. Who else could do that with one single, almost meaningless word? Donna was so relatable: the writers mined her 'office temp' backstory for all the comedy they could get, turned her family from annoying meddlers into beloved characters (and heroes KOFF-wilf-KOFF), and just generally made her feel more "real". I get a similar (but not as evolved) vibe from Jackie Tyler: a take-no-shit-give-no-crap kind of person who it is... unwise to argue with. So glad we'll be seeing Donna again, can't wait
