The real ones know, just being able to play this game at 1080p 60fps back in the day was a flex. 2007 OG Crysis is still a Cryengine Legend
As far as I remember, there was never 60fps on release... there was a 25-40 fps on the GTX 8800 :)
@@user-cn1qw5mm3j I never used the words release.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer I remember playing this game on a amd 4870, man this game was brutal on hardware
Yep, and I can honestly say my mind wasn't blown again until DICE revealed BF3 in collaboration with AMD at a special event for the Radeon 7970 which then ran the demo on.
Crysis 3 was the best. The coding was made for multi core cpu's and the graphics were incredible. That's when the cry engine really shined.
This is one of my favorite parts of the campaign! The enemies flying out of the ice bubble, the massive sense of scale. So good!
I was blown away when I first saw this game in 2007. I had just bought the PS3 at the time, but playing Crysis was like experiencing the next generation. I had to wait until 2016 before I was as impressed with the jungle rendering in other games (Uncharted 4).
I played Crysis in moded DX9 very high settings (with DX10 effects) on my Core 2 Quad 6600 + 8800Ultra at 1680x1050p at only 30fps, but at the time I thought the game was perfectly playable. At 720p I had around 45fps and compared to PS3 games (Splinter Cell 4 20-30fps) I was really happy with the performance. My 8800U already died a long time ago, but I wonder how the game would run on this card with a much faster CPU and maxed out settings, because my Q6600 was certainly bottlenecking my 8800U. I saw a video with i7+8800U and the game ran at 50fps in 1080p with medium settings, so I think on similar CPU my old 8800U could probably run crysis 1 at 60fps at 720p with some medium / high settings.
Core 2 Quad 6600 was the perfect match for the 8800 GTX, back in the days i played cod 2- 4 also on 1680 1050 samsung display.
@@pcgamerzzzchannel3407 In general, yes, the Q6600 was a very good match for the 8800Ultra, but Crysis was the exception. This game destroyed this CPU. Based on the YT videos I've seen, I'm sure my 8800U could run Crysis at 60fps with some tweaks on a much faster CPU.
Can it run Crysis? Yes, yes it can. Amazing hardware brother.
Such a iconic game! Love it. Played it so much nights!

Recently re-played the OG Crysis (and Warhead) on my 5800X3D & 4090, and its amazing how good some graphical elements still look.
One of the best games ever made
The story is kinda weak, but it's an ok game I guess
Game was kind of mid. Just looked good
By far no, just good benchmark meme, nothing else.
@@djentmetal Sure boi
We need a remaster Crysis that run on 16 CPU threads and a highly optimised one, at the same time remaster improved graphic that run better and faster.
Hey bro, just a personal question! I'm just wondering that what job or business you do to buy these kind of high end components? Also what's your age?:)
Man, that Ascension level is still brutal. lol
Both in perfomance and the tornados.
Nvidia may not rely solely on gamers' money these days. However, they could consider publishing cutting-edge PC-exclusive single-player games like Crysis and GTA to boost their graphics card sales. I'm fairly certain that a 3070 Ti or 4070 paired with a mid-range processor could outperform the PS5 or Series X with relative ease. They would have the capability to scale the game from a 4060 to a 4090, unlike current multi-platform games that mainly offer ray tracing, higher resolution, and increased FPS, without much difference in console and PC ports.
Mine always crashes every 10 minutes i have rtx 4090 and 13900k and I am using the right DX patch. Anybody understand it?
Is urs a binned 14000ks? Been hearing about how the 14th and 13th gen are dropping like flies
@@mamamia5668 All KS cpu's are binned by Intel directly
why is core 5-6 hotter then the rest. same happens on my 14900
Hey brotha curious is this the steam or GOG version of the game? Heard that the original is kinda rough to get going on modern hardware
This is the origin version, now known as the EA app.
How did you make it run on high refresh rate my game only runs at 60 fps cap unless i put windowed mode
try with dldsr in 5k or 6k.
Whats the program to see all the parameters on the left? The temp usage etc
MSI Afterburner and Riva Tuner Statistics server.
Why the hell is the gpu utilization dropping to 50 %?
@mysterion3912 The game is very CPU bound and barely uses more than a single core, so it causes a GPU bottleneck.
2024 and we still can't run Crysis...
bad optimization..
@@stevensv4864With levels like Ascension that simply is foward-thinking and is just easy to blame games that pushed hardware foward (and still do).
why use 8x MSAA in 4K? This creates an unjustified, inadequate load on the video memory, while the 4090 chip itself is most likely loaded by a maximum of 20%.
Because the game is so single threaded, if you don't make it as GPU bound as possible, you just get a CPU bottleneck. You really don't gain anything from using less anti aliasing in this game.
@@Bang4BuckPCGamer This brings us back to the fact that the game still runs poorly not because of the videocard, but because the CPU progress over the years has not been as fast as we would like.
I think playing with 8x MSAA in 4K is about the same as playing in 16K, which is impressive even for a 4090.
They are not even remotely the same, try playing at native 8K and you would struggle. The bandwidth these newer cards have due to memory speeds and bus width make Anti Aliasing easy.
@@user-cn1qw5mm3j but because the CPU progress over the years has not been as fast as we would like.
In reality, the issue lies in the game's inability to effectively utilize modern hardware. If someone had the time and resources, they could rewrite the game to be compatible with current-generation hardware. Although AMD and Intel could manufacture top-tier single-core, single-thread processors, there would likely be no market for them.
looks like a cgi film to be honest xD
