One thing I've noticed is that Cedar Fair listens to their fans. For years, they just plopped rides down with little theming or immersion. The past decade, they've been trying to mitigate that with their new attractions. So, if Six Flags (OG parks) answer to feedback they've received, hopefully things will really turn around for them. I remember how the WB installed rides were actually great additions with immersive theming. The older I get, the more I want an experience - not just get thrashed around on a ride.
I'll bet that in a year or so we start seeing more parks in the chain install solar panels like Magic Mountain just did once the company sees the difference in the electric bill. Those savings can be put back into the park for staffing and maintenance, as well as future attractions. I am excited about the legacy six Flags parks getting better food and looking more presentable.

The only thing that baffles me is why they took the six flags name. The name is well known yeah but six flags tends to have a bad rep with a lot of casual guests and an even worse record with enthusiasts. Cedar fair on the other hand isn't as widely known of a brand name but with the people who know it, they generally are pretty positive about it. I think building a reputation is easier when you have as many parks as they do, would be a lot easier than fixing the bad reputation of a six flags park. Whether it be bad food, dirty parks, poorly maintained rides, dozens of coaster clones, or notoriously bad investor returns, six flags has a lot of strikes on their name and they had a chance for a clean slate and didn't take it
SF is the corporate name, not going on any of the Cedar Fair legacy parks. Cedar Fair always marketed parks essentially individually, they never even have website links from one park to another.

Thinking the brand identity is going to remain the same is naive. SF parks sell a lot of generic merchandise with the SF name, Cedar Fair never sold any generic merch saying Cedar Fair, it was always all individual park based. Last, SF name for good or bad is known by the general public, Cedar Fair name is only really known by enthusiasts. Again, this comes down to the marketing..Sf parks with location for names vs individual names for Cedar Fair legacy parks. Most people didn't even know what all the Cedar Fair parks were unless they were a enthusiasts.

Six Flags legacy parks after the merger put out job openings for Executive Chefs at many parks to run the food operations, something Cedar Fair legacy parks started long ago when they started the upgrade of their restaurants 6 or 7 years ago.
I absolutely do think park maintenance has been falling behind post pandemic across the board, and I hope things improve in that aspect. Though I’d be thoroughly impressed if the lower end of the chain gets any new thrill coasters. Best I can see for them is a new family coaster like Six New England and Carowinds are doing next year.
I was just at SFMM last week, it was pretty clean, friendly staff, fast ride ops (except X2). The only thing we were disappointed on was the food lines and how slow they moved….. I hadn’t been there in over 20 years and people have been giving them negative reviews, but it was very pleasant for me and the family.
SFMM was absolute trash last time was there so it’s good to see it might’ve improved some. Slow ops (at least one reading a book while loading), at least 7 major coasters down for the day, literal piles of trash in the Ninja queue, etc.
I'm hoping the corporate higher ups really utilize the IP they have access to while keeping the identity of these parks intact (CF parks staying with Snoopy stuff and SF parks staying with WB & DC stuff). Why pay all this money to keep IP if you're not using it to its full potential. I think Camp Snoopy seems like a step in the right direction. I just think parks should look back on what worked before (Batman inverts had really good atmosphere for an amusement park as did the Paramount rides at former Paramount parks & the Scooby Doo dark rides at several parks in both chains). Bring those ideas back to the table & people will start giving more respect and hard earned cash to these parks again.
SF Magic Mountain the past few years has always been a joke despite being one of the best parks (and my favorite place on earth), however as I went yesterday there is far more improvement and pretty much every ride was running multiple trains when practically every ride was always a one train disaster. I really thought the second coming of Christ was going to happen before Revolution would ever run 2 trains again but both red and whites were running and I almost fainted! There was also more music and a bit better atmosphere. There still a lot of work to be done but I'm pleasantly satisfied with how much has improved in the past few months alone.
Maybe we could see parks like Six Flags America, Six Flags Darien Lake and Michigan's Adventure finally get some love and add some major new investment.
SF parks are an albatross. They were struggling financially with poor financials regressing to 2017/2018 levels while Cedar Fair was producing record financials in 2022/2023/early 2024. CF management is going to find it much harder than they think to get the cheapskate SF legacy core patron to pay up for a better quality experience that Cedar Fair legacy parks provide in food, atmosphere, themed areas, etc.....CF legacy core patron are used to and don't mind paying up, as their passes have always been more. The amount of whining from SF legacy people has been epic on about having all park access be $195 to $190 when they are used to it for $90 to $105 in 2024 with a drink bottle included. It's literally ridiculous people complaining about access to 26 parks for under $200. Each chain alone was worth more than $200 for all park access, combined a fair price is easily around $400, which is still less than the United Parks Platinum pass for Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, etc,,,
At six flags ga they repainted Batman and majorly themed it out again with a light package and they play the prince Batman music again it’s awesome in the middle of the season
Great America has the OG Batman. It was just repainted in September, and the original 1992 effects and theming have been restored, with more on the way.
One of the first things merger wise I noticed at Great Escape was the no cellphone signage on rides and the park really bushing that policy in the line queues. Also the Flashback is receiving a refresher that has included a fresh paint job and more coming in the off season. (Rumors are a new train possibly). They have also been touching up the theming items with fresh paint and extra cleaning.
The repaint of Goliath at SFOG was highly considered for some time, but despite this before officially announcing that it will happen, their park president stated that it costed $1 million dollars to repaint the entire coaster, which is why it was never repainted and also maintained its ugly and faded appearance throughout the time even though its now former color scheme is iconic.

To me it depends on the park as to how well it has gone. We are CF Gold plus pass holders and favor CF parks. We have had some bad at our home park WoF this season. The park running out of food was the big one. Especially when you bought an all day food pass and only got to used it ounce. All we got was an order of chicken tenders for $40x3. Then guest services refused to make it right. When I reminded them that we were season pass holders and we had been to the park 6 times, We got "got your money's worth out of your pass didn't you." Still would like some one to explain how many parks will a 2025 Gold plus pass will get you in? We try to go to at least 3+ different CF parks in a season and would love to add SF parks to our 2025 plains.
The only MAJOR thing Six Flags/Cedar Fair … did that sadden and infuriated me was the proverbial “get over it” or so I felt when I read Canada’s Wonderland was getting the unequivocal replacement for volcano and not Kings Dominion, Virginia. It was a slap to our face. The new wing coaster it’s gonna be awesome… But keep it real AlpenFury … coming out the top of the volcano. 😢😢… wayyy better than Repterra.

I think that it's way to early to judge anything yet. I work for a large multi-state corporation that merged (over 10 yrs ago) and while both industries are far separate, they are strikingly alike. Both are by their nature heavily focused on safety, government regulation, and customer satisfaction. And I've seen the problems that arise in your company culture when trying to align each group into a one set of common procedures, areas of focus and just overall how you deal with customers or treat your employees. And most of all, how you account for and allocate money. It is a very large undertaking to have this many parks and every park has to change how they do everything about their job. This is inherent in all large mergers and CHANGE is the enemy when it comes to workers, particularly the one's that have been around awhile. And in today's connected world, we will probably start seeing belly aching soon. It may even start immediately as the open period for company health plans begins now. This could be the first thing to watch on social media is how the company approaches it first big undertaking that affects every employee. And how the company responds.
One point I wanted to expand on that you mentioned about maintenance of rides. I think that needs to be a priority before adding more. I’ve just noticed at my home park of Carowinds features and maintenance of some of the rides has curtailed. I may get some pushback on that comment however it’s just my personal opinion. I am looking forward to visiting some of the other parks since I added that perk to my season pass.
After going thru 4 mergers(oh my I am too old) it is way to soon to see any changes other then cosmetics. Now the real heavy lifting start. Over the next 1-3 years there will be changes. Some visual to our delight. How do they merge Seasons Pass programs ? Which suppliers do we keep ? Pepsi or Coke ? Then we will see long time employees seeking new careers. Overlap at the corporate level will be the most painful. So do not forget those folks when we have a new Giga in every park. I can dream right. But the journey and destruction are not over yet.
Big fan of Six Flags Over Sandusky, Six Flags Cincinnati, Six Flags Richmond, Six Flags Over the Carolinas and the world famous Six Flags Over a Berry Farm. And who doesn't love the legendary one and only Six Flags Great America?
From what Tower Topics is saying that there's some survey markers at KI over in the Vortex plot of land now, so we might be getting close to a new coaster or something new in 2026!
Food-can’t eat if I want to go on rides so don’t care much about food care more if they have great coasters. But my park gets next to nothing-Valleyfair.

Knott’s Operations are in rough shape. It runs like “the little theme park that could…almost.” Great rides run like a glorified local carnival. Upgrade the guest experience here and it will ripple throughout the industry.
There is nothing wrong with the pass program. The only complaining I have seen and a lot of it on forums, is SF legacy people that think they should get into all parks for the same old dirt cheap prices Sf legacy parks had of $85 to $105 . Yes, and think they should get a drink bottle included for that cheap price
merger has gone terrible for great adventure so far.. nothing has improved in the park. now rumors of Kingda Ka getting removed. GA has become fucking dogshit.
Here's a big...cf can now move coasters to other parks if they wanted too...and with some certain rumors going on...I've got a scenario that would be an absolute shock to every thusie out there...keep an eye on ka...cause I can garentee its future in another park...
I visited Valleyfair, Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Michigan's Adventure, Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores, Six Flags Great America, Knott's Berry Farm, and Six Flags Magic Mountain this summer. Wasn't able to make it to Knott's Soak City or Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Gurnee, Rockford, or Valencia, but regardless, if they had a pass for the parks in both chains at the time, that would've been the perfect steal.

Just saw a video of Batman at SFGAM get all its theming back including the dispatch fog. Little things like this go a LONG way.
Wish six flags st louis did, tgey ditched all theming on batman, only thing next to justice league is the new joker with funhouse like fiesta, tx

Knott’s Operations are in rough shape. It runs like “the little theme park that could…almost.” Great rides run like a glorified local carnival. Upgrade the guest experience here and it will ripple throughout the industry.
The annual pass program could have been handled better
There is nothing wrong with the pass program. The only complaining I have seen and a lot of it on forums, is SF legacy people that think they should get into all parks for the same old dirt cheap prices Sf legacy parks had of $85 to $105 . Yes, and think they should get a drink bottle included for that cheap price

merger has gone terrible for great adventure so far.. nothing has improved in the park. now rumors of Kingda Ka getting removed. GA has become fucking dogshit.

Here's a big...cf can now move coasters to other parks if they wanted too...and with some certain rumors going on...I've got a scenario that would be an absolute shock to every thusie out there...keep an eye on ka...cause I can garentee its future in another park...
I visited Valleyfair, Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Michigan's Adventure, Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores, Six Flags Great America, Knott's Berry Farm, and Six Flags Magic Mountain this summer. Wasn't able to make it to Knott's Soak City or Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Gurnee, Rockford, or Valencia, but regardless, if they had a pass for the parks in both chains at the time, that would've been the perfect steal.
I don't know how Six handles their line cutting program, but CF is the worst.
