NO to the large stage in the center of the park. We have a HUGE amphitheater. Start holding “shows” there to clear the entrance way. Then remove the current stage and allow a massive entrance to the new ride as you enter the park. That would be awesome!
I know many focus a lot on coasters, but there really needs to be a lot more indoor shows/rides/attractions at Carowinds. It creates more variety, gets guests out of the heat/cold/rain, would be more appealing to a wider group of people, and help Carowinds be more appealing during colder months. I HATE the stage at the front of the park. It's an eyesore being right where everyone enters. Having the stage somewhere other than at the front of the park is a good idea. Good video, enjoyed it!

@@derekp308 Carowinds isn't getting a second Mack multi-launch. And given the amount of effort Knott's spent overhauling Xcelerator and Montezooma, they aren't getting a large launched coaster anytime soon. I know Magic Mountain doesn't need it (they don't even have a spinner yet), but it's a logical "first in the US" choice to compete with Hollywood Drift. Especially if Superman: EFK is closing for good.
@@justinchavez9530 That would be too similar to Copperhead Strike as they would be both launched sit-down models from Mack so I don't think Carowinds would get one unless if it is one with a lift hill. If it is anything launched it would be a Flyer from Vekoma or an inverted model from Gerstlauer. One of those would bring back memories of Volcano for a lot of you coaster fans.
I think the perfect replacement would be a new Vekoma flying coaster themed to the Wright Brothers and the first powered flight. I mean that would be a fun and educational ride experience and it would be perfect as it would be a DIRECT ONE-TO-ONE REPLACEMENT to Nighthawk as that is a flying coaster as well. The dark ride section could tell the story leading up to when it happens and the ride happens when they actually are ready to go for that historic flight. It's a no-brainer move on Carrowind's part and look how well-recieved F.L.Y. was received at Phantasialand in Germany. It got rave reviews from everyone who rode it so it would make sense to bring that model to the United States.
I thought of that, but I'm not sure Vekoma is marketing those anymore. B&M is though, and rereading your full post... it's an incredible idea for a theme!
Wow! What an AMAZING concept seeing that the Wright Brothers were from North Carolina! I guarantee you that Cedar Fair hasn't even thought of it! You should somehow try to pitch it to them though because it's one of the most clever concepts I've ever heard!!!
@@MCQ-fq6bv well look at how well F.L.Y. at Phantasialand was received and it is a totally new type of coaster as it is a launched model which would actually make it a unique coaster to the US as there are no launched flying coasters here in the country as all of them have lift hills. So it would make sense to bring one here if F.L.Y. has been doing so good for Phantasialand as it would be STUPID to NOT bring one over stateside. Also modern Vekoma isn't like the Vekoma of the 1990s as all their coasters are smooth as smooth can be and everyone is liking them and we are starting to get modern Vekoma coasters here in the US as both COTALAND and Cedar point are getting the modern Tilt Coaster model and Six Flags Great Adventure has gotten a Vekoma Super Boomerang which is their modern Boomerang model so it would make sense a modern flyer from them would come over to the US eventually and with the success of F.L.Y., it would be a NO-BRAINER to bring one over.
If true, I'm like 90% sure it'll be a B&M dive. It all makes sense. Both CF and Six Flags has really been adding these like crazy lately starting with Valravn, then Yukon Striker, then Dr. Diabolical's, then starting in 2024 with Iron Menace they seem to be adding one each year to a park (similar to what CF did in the late 2000s with the B&M hypers) with Wrath of Wrakasha in 2025, then a currently planned one for Over Texas in 2026 so it would make sense for Carowinds to get one in 2027. Also Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland seem to get similar rides. They both got B&M hypers and gigas. They both are going to have multi launch loopers as well as Snoopy's Racing Railway. So a B&M dive makes the most sense for Carowinds.
I think you're onto something with the similarly of wonderland, so instead of a dive coaster, what if it's an alpine fury like coaster? Since at that point it will have been 8 years since the last major investment and it's in the middle of the park, what if we get some kind of mountain with a premier coaster in, on, or around it?

Nighthawk and Firehawk were not the same coaster. The firehawk trains were quite different mechanically, but are near identical to Batwing. That being said, there are still salvageable parts to send to SFAm.
I think something like Karnan would be sick over that plot of land! Also, maybe either a Vekoma tilt coaster or a new-gen Vekoma flying coaster would be great too!
That flying coaster could be themed to the Wright Brothers and the first powered flight. I mean That took place in Kitty Hawk, NC so that would be the no-brainer move to theme it to that as it would not tell an important piece of history from the Carolinas but an important piece of US history as well the story in the dark ride section could tell the events that led up to the actual flight and when the flight happens is when the ride itself happens. I mean it makes PERFECT sense for the flying coaster from Vekoma. Also the Vekoma Flyer would be a great option cause look at how well F.L.Y. at Phantasialand in Germany was received. Everyone LOVED it so It wouldn't take an aerospace engineer to figure that out.
Y'all, the Nighthawk plot is pretty ideal for the "record-breaking water ride" in the press release that announced Ka was closing. The world's longest water coaster is just under 3000 feet long; the tallest lift hill (not counting Intamin vertical lifts) on one is just over **100** feet. So that's probably what Carowinds is getting for 2026. This gives the park time to keep Vortex running a few more seasons and decide whether a B&M mini dive or Vekoma tilt (with the drop straddling the state line) is a better fit for the park. To open up views of this future drop, I could see Carolina Skytower get relocated to the Scream Weaver plot. Closing Drop Tower opens up space for an additional element or two if / when Hurler is RMC'd or modified with Titan Track. Or the park could add another thrilling flat ride like a Giant Discovery there.
Thank goodness it's going, I watched a Theme park worldwide video from a few years ago and it actually injured them. Shawn's friend got hurt so bad he left for basically the rest of the day, this was after they waited like 2 hours

I predict that any remaining parts that was originally supposed to go on Nighthawk would be shipped to Six Flags America to keep their Batwing coaster operational. Now, as for what type of coaster that Carowinds could open on the Nighthawk and Vortex plot of land, I would like to see the addition of a B&M Dive coaster (similar to Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger at Six Flags Fiesta Texas). Also, I’d your idea of building a larger stage area interacting with the coaster!

I think a new Vekoma Flyer would be fun. But I also think those probably make more sense in an area with more terrain or near misses. But maybe they could build some obstacles, much like we've seen with many B&M wing coasters. I personally would prefer a wooden coaster or Gerstlauer Infinity coaster for that plot. The larger scale Infinities with 16 seat cars would work well. But a Gravity Group or GCI woodie would also be great. But if I could wave a magic wand, I'd give them a better woodie. I'd go RMC Topper Track or even Intamin Prefab. A guy can wish, right?

@alecday3775 i love a Wright Bros theme for a Vekoma Flyer in Carowinds. And i think that theme would justify flying over a boring plain of grass. That said, one of the biggest appeals of the new Flyer model is the agility they show which is why F.L.Y. was so impressive. They could wind that track however they saw fit and still build a largely urban looking environment around it. It would be a bit of a shame to just put that model up in the air to gracefully glide around. And it would seem like an odd choice to give it a tight spaghetti bowl layout if it's only winding around itself without additional thematic elements. Maybe a compromise would be to start in a show building as you mentioned and then go into either a lift hill or launch that sends the train high up for a couple of graceful sweeping passes to pay homage to the Wright Bros but then have it come down and stay low to the ground while passing through some kind of thematic elements (or maybe just boulders, landscaping and water features to keep down the price.) But then you'd get that feeling of agility but also the Carolina connection. I'm sure someone could come up with a loose story line to make it all make sense.
@@zacg_ I mean they could tell the true story but have another man and the man that built the first stunt plane and would justify the layout of the coaster. That and the new launched flyer from Vekoma would be a direct replacement to Nighthawk as that is a flying coaster as well. So that is why it would be a great fit for the park.
Sorry, to break it to you but Carowinds is in the proverbial penalty box, after Copperhead produced disappointing ROI. This is the same thing that happened to KD after I-305. There is why Carowinds hasn't gotten thrill stuff and a whole bunch of family stuff since Copperhead.
I don't think so. Copperhead did well as a family attraction, then Covid hit. Carowinds has been getting the big investments since then. Aeronautica was a major investment, and cost as much as a coaster, (5 flats and an area overhaul). 2025 is a major investment, (junior coaster and a river battle). If the park was being penalized Aeronautica would have been only one flat, and 2025 would be Racin Railway and nothing else. Compare what other CF parks got during 'off years' and you will see that Carowinds is still CF's golden child. Just because the park is not getting a record breaker with each addition does not mean the park is being neglected.
@@Cap-ku6ok Copperhead was a walk on to 5 minute wait all day constantly during perfect days last summer. It disappointed on ROI. Thanks for helping making my point, but not realizing it. KD after i-305 disappointment got family stuff for 8 years. Carowinds if they get a coaster in 2027, will have been getting family stuff for l be 8 years. As I said and was beyond you to comprehend directly, but got it indirectly in your own post. Carowinds was put in the penalty box like KD was after a lackluster ROI on a big thrill coaster. Carowinds is not the golden child. In fact, with their continued lackluster ROI their days may soon be numbered on big Capex. Aeronautical landing also was a ghost town during perfect days in the summer. in fact, the entire park was that. you could get on every ride as much as you want essentially w/o even FL. The exception was Nighthawk b/c it had 1 train and 5 minute dispatches. I have all season all park FL and when i visited Carowinds it was virtually useless , as everything was a walk on. It just saved you distance in walking FL queue lines vs regular queue.
Call me crazy but kingda ka would fit on those three plots of vortex nighthawk and the swing gone just saying. And they could even extend its layout after transporting it to Carowinds. Just thinking outside the box Brandon
Firehawks trains cant work because that layout was different. Nighthawks trains are designed with rhe Corkscrew in mind while firehawk had inline twists the trains cant pivot through the corkscrews properly
I think now that they have another park in the same chain, it would be beneficial to send any remaining usable parts up to Six Flags America to keep Batwing going. While I could definitely see them removing the sky coaster and Nighthawk to make way for a new coaster, I don't think they will remove Vortex as well. Or, if they do, they will not use that land for Nighthawk's replacement. I think Nighthawk will be removed and get a replacement before Vortex closes.
While I would agree with this, Batwing is at a very isolated area of the park and the park in general isn't all that popular. Just gotta hope you're right.
Well I hope they'll replace it with a b&m flying coaster. This type of ride sets the park apart from it's competitors. And it seems to me this whole six flags company would benefit from a third party steel manufacturer that could build parts for older coasters cheaper and more efficiently. It's being done elsewhere on arrows.
With that much land you showed and only one coaster I would hope they get a tilt coaster and a family coaster that interact with each other and that huge plot of land from Vekoma
With Carowinds being landlocked in the existing property, the only way they can add attractions is to axe others, unfortunately. And Firehawk wasn't that bad a ride, btw.
I'd personally like to see a B&M Flyer, on the scale of Tatsu, and if you have more space by pulling Vortex, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter. Or, you bring in Intamin, and just let those guys have fun building something crazy, though not a 4th Dimension...
Carowinds (and pretty much any park in general) is putting a perspective on what people need, not something enthusiasts or people who want something specifically want lol
I dont know, I think Nightwing closing buys Batwing a few more years. Send all the parts from both Nightwing and Firehawk should give some longevity to the ride. I just don't think Six Flags America will need that space any time soon. While I would love to see Six Flags America get a ton of Capital investment and build it into a great park, I think they are betting on Six Flags Great Adventure and the money will go there. Even if they dont reopen Batwing, I doubt they will spend the money to remove it. That land has so much potential for 1-3 rollercoasters, and I have no guess. I am sure we will see more tilt coasters and Vekoma's if Cedarpoint does well with Sirens Curse. I wonder why we havent see anymore coasters like Hangtime, there has to be a reason.
I always thought that if they remove nighthawk they should replace it with a B&M flyer because it is similar to nighthawk without most of the negatives
I really hope that they keep the water there whatever they do. Maybe even restore some of it under goldrusher too. They can name it Nighthawk Lake with a new ride I'll be okay with that
Night Hawk and Fire Hawk were awesome rides, they'll be missed. Hopefully a new gen Vekoma Flyer replaces it. This park could also use some intensity along the lines of a intamin blitz. Fury is possibly the most overrated ride out there.
I seriously hope Fury's wooden neighbor bites the dust soon and gets converted to Twisted Timbers. Also, hear me out. Send Vortex to Michigan's Adventure😂😂😂
thanks for the click to post you comment though :) And how is this click bait? There is nothing about this video in terms of click bait... I am predicting Carowinds next coaster will be in 2027... and I think it could be rather large. :)
would it be so cool if they built volcano the blast coaster replaceing nighthawk like a flying volcano coaster? just thought it would be awsome ? awsome video coaster studios keep it up😃
I'm not big on removing two low capacity coasters (Nightwhawk and Vortex) for ONE mediocre capacity coaster. Not to mention Vortex resides on the NC side where as Nighthawk is 95% on the SC side. Building one coaster across state lines will only make funding, building and regulations even more difficult. Nighthawks plot is plenty big enough for a Dive Coaster, ML Designs Centurion highlights this. I'm all for Vortex being replaced by a Raptor model, CGA RailBlazer relocation perhaps?! When i looked at Google earth Vortex takes up more land than RailBlazer. This would free up some room for a possible Carolina Goldrusher update in the future.

Me: There's no way he can predict a giga in a park that already has arguably the best gigacoaster in the world.
8:05 Hold my holding brake.
Oh yes they can.. carowinds can carry 2 gigas
Well I guess we’re getting another carowinds video shortly
Replace Night Hawk with a new B&M flyer!
Nobody:
That one person that had a good ride on Nighthawk:
Me! I have had 5+ rides on it, and all were good
Noooo not nighthawk I love that ride.
Yeah the old Six Flags didn’t do that with the Bobsled Clones and they went out in back to back seasons.
While I would agree with this, Batwing is at a very isolated area of the park and the park in general isn't all that popular. Just gotta hope you're right.
A dive sounds cool buuuut what about a wing...at 320 ft tall and themed to airplanes and 7 inversions....cause why not.....
I'd love to see a 500 foot T-Rex. But even if CF wanted to, I doubt the FAA would grant them a license with the Charlotte airport being so close.
Carowinds already has headlining coasters. Atlanta needs a showstopper bad.
Where are you going lol
8:22 never heard gerstlauer and smooth in the same sentence
Well I hope they'll replace it with a b&m flying coaster. This type of ride sets the park apart from it's competitors. And it seems to me this whole six flags company would benefit from a third party steel manufacturer that could build parts for older coasters cheaper and more efficiently. It's being done elsewhere on arrows.
Perhaps a Flying Dinosaur clone 👀
You know what else is massive?
With that much land you showed and only one coaster
I would hope they get a tilt coaster and a family coaster that interact with each other and that huge plot of land from Vekoma
Agree a giga dive coaster would have a good ROI and parks love B&M coasters
Carowinds needs another wood roller coaster.
Agreed, but only if build it on the scale of El Toro!
@@CYCO1631 . I know right or Ghost Rider at Knott's Berry farms.
With Carowinds being landlocked in the existing property, the only way they can add attractions is to axe others, unfortunately. And Firehawk wasn't that bad a ride, btw.
Brandon's WAYYY too excited about this rumor. 😅☕️
Not a rumor anymore haha
Next gen vekoma flyer would be cool
I'd personally like to see a B&M Flyer, on the scale of Tatsu, and if you have more space by pulling Vortex, a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter. Or, you bring in Intamin, and just let those guys have fun building something crazy, though not a 4th Dimension...
No thanks. Drive coasters stink. Build a velocicoaster or bust. No more wing coaster or drop coasters. No more family coasters as well.
Hey Brandon you were right Carowinds announced officially nighthawk and drop tower
Permanently closed
I always thought that if they remove nighthawk they should replace it with a B&M flyer because it is similar to nighthawk without most of the negatives
Next generation vekoma flyer is way better
@@0dylan I see where you’re coming from but I feel like it might be easier for Carowinds to market a B&M flyer than vekoma but I could be wrong
A Gerstlauer is too similar to Dare Devil Dive at SFOG... I think a B&M Dive or Vekoma Tilt makes more sense.
I really hope that they keep the water there whatever they do. Maybe even restore some of it under goldrusher too. They can name it Nighthawk Lake with a new ride I'll be okay with that
I think batwing has a year or two left since it can use nighthawks spare parts to live on a few more years
I’m not sure about that. The last two Intimin Bobsleds went out back to back.
Well the last Intamin Bobsleds went back to back years so it would surprise me I’d the two flying Dutchman’s went out in a similar fashion.
He was right they are getting rid of Nighthawk, drop tower and scream weaver.
Offically anounced they are retiring drop tower, screamweaver, and nighthawk
Its kind of crazy they are closing rides now for a 2027 attraction
Not crazy, it was barely operational. It was consistently down and when it was operating they only could get 1 train working.
@@MCQ-fq6bv It was moody like that at Great America too
7 acres is about the size of Nick Universe at MOA. For perspective.
Atleast with nighthawks closure batwing should have better operations at six flags americs
A B&M flying coaster to Flying Dinosaur would be 🔥 at Carowinds 👀
Why not a launched flying coaster like F.L.Y. at Phantasialand?
I don't think they're ever making another B&M flyer. At least in the US.
@@wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037 I suppose not. They are time consuming to dispatch 😕
@@alecday3775 I see a coaster like that going to Dollywood or Silver Dollar City
they should built a giga dive coaster
Dive coasters are a boring 1 trick pony.
Good riddance Nighthawk. Lol
This sucks but maybe a new next generation Vekoma flying coaster
Like fly
Night Hawk and Fire Hawk were awesome rides, they'll be missed. Hopefully a new gen Vekoma Flyer replaces it. This park could also use some intensity along the lines of a intamin blitz. Fury is possibly the most overrated ride out there.
Easy in the sssssssssss
💚
I seriously hope Fury's wooden neighbor bites the dust soon and gets converted to Twisted Timbers. Also, hear me out. Send Vortex to Michigan's Adventure😂😂😂
Lol
Click bait junk
thanks for the click to post you comment though :)
And how is this click bait? There is nothing about this video in terms of click bait... I am predicting Carowinds next coaster will be in 2027... and I think it could be rather large. :)
would it be so cool if they built volcano the blast coaster replaceing nighthawk like a flying volcano coaster? just thought it would be awsome ? awsome video coaster studios keep it up😃
We need a person going live at Carowinds like people do at Disney that would be neat
Nighthawk isn’t going anywhere
they just announce today it is gone :)

@@KeepRidinCoasters So next year will be the farewell year? Or it already happened this year and they just didn’t say anything until now??..
@@BuffaloHarry99 Nighthawk, Drop Tower and Screamweaver are all closed permanently now. No more chances to ride any of them
@@coastersandcosplays NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I needed one more ride on nighthawk :(
And of course no announcement this new company sucks.
