Six Flags New England's only competition in the region is a ragtag collection of much smaller parks, whose advantage is that they're closer to the clientele and arguably have more of a family atmosphere. The company can ignore it for long periods of time without hurting it much, so they probably will. What I think it actually needs now is not a coaster but a major dark ride with some family appeal, which several of those smaller parks actually have! But I doubt that's coming any time soon.

Like most enthusiasts, I was thinking in terms of ripping out Flashback and putting in something long and skinny in the combined plot, so it was "what's long and skinny?" Later on I was thinking maybe a Super Boomerang, but that was predicated on the one at Great Adventure opening up in a timely manner and being a success. Obviously, they chose to not rip out Flashback at all and put something compact in the Goliath space.
