12 False Signs Your Marriage Is Over and 1 True Sign | Paul Friedman

  • Marriage "experts" who do not actually understand marriage publicly misinterpret various signs they espouse as dangerous to the health of your marriage. They warn you that your marriage is in great danger, then they sell you their marriage help course, or book... which usually does little to no good for you, your spouse, or your marriage. This common practice is discouraging to people who are afraid.
In this video, I present enough common sense analysis so you can make choices that will work, and not cost you an arm and a leg.
Helping marriages is not a vocation that just anyone should enter, merely because they have been "educated".
Work with a marriage help program produced by someone who openly discusses their methodology and philosophy. That will empower you to fix your marriage yourself. Isn't it logical that you should understand yourself, your spouse, and your marriage, well enough to not be dependent on some outsider?
The marriage help video here is anything but negative. The marriage myths I dispel here is done with compassion and understanding. You will be more comfortable when you are done, and hopefully, and sometimes, this will be all you will ever need to see the path to make your own a happy marriage.
If your marriage IS in trouble, I recommend you watch this 12 weeks video, too, where I explain how I can take you and your marriage from failing to joy. • 12 Week Marriage Savin...

I am working on shifting my thinking and strengthening my will power. I married my middle school love and best friend and we have remained that for all these years. We are going through something that seems bigger than ourselves and that scares me. But I am learning to love him unconditionally and to see all the good in my marriage despite all the downs we are facing. Some days is harder but I will continue to strive. ♥️ thank you for all the advice!

Hi Paul I just want to say that this video was so vital at saving my marriage. I applied your principles and 1year and a half later my marriage is better than ever! Even after infidelity on my husbands part. I thank God for your wisdom and that doesn’t mean I agreed with everything but most of it like 95 % of your lessons. I don’t have to spell those things out on this platform because it’s irrelevant. It’s a personal conviction from the Lord and I stand firm in my faith principles from the Bible. Which I believe you have derived from the Bible most of your principles which literally does save marriages. Thanks for all you have done and are still doing. I often go back and re watch a lot of videos as a refresher when I feel like I’m going backwards or have a set back. I’m truly happy now and so is my husband and we are thriving. And you taught me how to love unconditionally like God loves. 🙏🏻😇God Bless you Paul and your ministry ❤

I'm not sure I agree with all of this, but I will say sometimes on other channels they basically tell you not to tolerate ANYTHING. Sometimes it's ridiculous, like jeez, you're never gonna stay in a relationship because you're never gonna find a PERFECT person. It's about learning about each other and LOVE . If you love each other, it's worth at least trying some of these ideas.

How do you not confront your husband when all of a sudden at 50 years old he starts chain-smoking?? He doesn't want to stop. He doesn't think he has any responsibility for my feelings. He has no responsibility as a spouse to uphold his health. I take care of mine! It's absolutely despicable when a spouse decides to go down a road of self-destruction and just ignores the wife who will have to pick up the pieces when he gets sick!

    • @TheMarriageFoundation
      @TheMarriageFoundation  3 года назад +11

None of your let's call them complaints are based in love for him, only self-protection. This means that you run your marriage from your point of view, as most do, which means you don't practice the art of unconditional love. Try to understand that your marriage can be much more fulfilling for both of you if you shift your thinking.

You are talking about 2 souls as soulmates. But what if you are not your husband's soulmate? My husband has an emotional connection with a co-worker and he said that he probably has "fallen in love" with her and has never felt like that with anyone else before. He said he wasn't unfaithful and there is no physical connection. I feel like there is no coming back after this now. I have bought your book and still trying to make out what I needed to do to make my husband fall in love with me again.

As I am sure you are receptive so the book will help you realize what you did not do in your marriage so that he sought elsewhere and you are already modifying your "ways". But, unfortuntely for most, by the time a husband has begun to leave, as has your husband, the solution is to learn to master your mind and at the same time learn to open your heart. That is a process and the very reason for us creating the course for women which systemitizes your efforts and is supported by our very special counselors. Read this themarriagefoundation.org/about/our-approach/ which will help you decide if you need the course. I think it would work for you and you would get your husband back.

I've been through what you're going through twice with the same man and married him twice. Truth! All the energy you're putting into him to love him, put that into yourself to Love yourself and you'll see clearer which way to go in your marriage with strength and confidence of knowing yourself better!

Listen you don't have to do or not do anything for a man to cheat. They are always enamored with what they haven't had...once they get it, they lose interest

Thanks for your input but it's not going to help her with her marriage. Of course we must 'love' ourselves but we get married to swim in the joy of marital bliss. Learn the ways of marriage that bring you joy and you will see for yourself 🙏

I am wondering if he doesn’t do the course then how will he understand alot of the stuff you speak about? And so he might still want to leave even if I make the changes etc.

This is a question many of our students ask so I am glad to address it. The ones who take the course, and of course apply what they are guided to do, find themselves changing in ways they never imagines, becoming more calm and peaceful, more inwardly happy, and notice that sometimes for the first time in their lives they are happy no matter what is happening all around them, in the marriage and in the world. They change in ways that makes them more appealing, more loving, and so those who know them are more attracted to them, including their spouse...especiually their spouse.
If you are asking this question is shows me that you have not done the course or are just starting, and maybe holding back. If you have begun then give it all you have to give. Nothing is dangerous or puts you at risk,. It is all guidencce to how one should be, anyway.
      Blessings.

I have questions. So my husband is suffering from sever alcoholism and I think he is tampering with drugs again, he has been cheating on me the past year which he doesn't know I know but he won't stop leaving. We have 3 children and I understand he is coping with the house fire we had last year and I have been really trying everything I know. He doesn't want to stay home with us and he gets so angry one time I was sick and breathing through my mouth and I was being put down. I'm reaching out cause you're someone who might be able to help who won't be bias.

I've been married 30 years,,but 4 days ago my husband got mad at me about something ,,and has refused to speak to me since, he won't call or text or even stay in the same room with me. He's come and go to work and that's it. I know why he is mad. I don't feel it was something I owe an apology for,, so what do I do? I can't get him to communicate or talk about it. Should I just apologize and say I was wrong anyway? Just to get past this? He's done this 4x I can think of in 30 years. He is really really mad.

What I learned from my Chaplaincy training days is that apologies are not necessarily about admitting fault but rather about restoring the relationship. Who’s right or wrong doesn't always matter because the main objective is to heal the rift in the relationship. I began applying this “technique” towards
my husband with mostly fantastic outcomes. Since doing so, I've noticed that my husband’s heart softened & he's holding less grudges.

I am not sure if i should leave not sure how the next wife turns up to be .. what is the way forward for me? or is this too much to ask? and give up the idea .. (as my wife says you cant have everything in life)
