testament paying for their +r crimes by being mid/low tier. but only because the upper part of the cast do everything testament wants but even better. zoning, setplay, damage, etc. it's a shame testament isn't more popular because i really like their gameplan

I don't think he'll be getting major changes though as I think this is close to the way arcsys wants him to be, and the exodia shananagins are fun so I hope they stay lol. I think it would be cool if they toned it down a bit and made the TC2 stuff a bit stronger, since that test case is fairly underused rn. Just changing instant mana to have an option of only consuming itself for a smaller amount of mana would go a long way.
I just wish he had more interactions per round. Playing against Asuka feels like a one person game. You're either not getting to play or he's not, but one way or another... only one person is playing Strive.

Wild Assault and Reflect Shield are really good mechanics in concepts, they just need some little adjustments both of them to be perfect. For Wild Assault, simply remove the enemy´s Burst gauge stealing after hitting and for Reflect Shield I propose to make it last a little longer and remove the counter hit from the opponent if it fails, like, if the oppontes hits you after you failling the Refect Shield, the opponent attack will only count as a normal attack and not as a counter. Also, always glad to see someone that agrees that Sol is not as good as people believe, like ,yeah, he´s deffinetly a top tier, but are you really comparing this guy to Happy Chaos, Nago and Ram? Sorry bro, not buying that.
I think making Wild Assault combos get insanely nerfed meter build for the following combo is a change that would solve a lot of problems with round start WA combos. Sure, you'll get damage, hard knockdown and Positive bonus, but you have no resources to continue the pressure without risking your safety and you need to wait for the resources to come back in in a bit of time. You are still at an advantage as you should be, but if the enemy now actually beats your pressure and reverses the momentum, you have no burst to get out, no YRC to deny their pressure, not even DefShi to get them off of you. So it becomes a higher risk, high reward option.
Ive said this before but I think a good solution to wild assault would be to make a significantly weaker version for the characters that get too much from it, like a purple assault or something which doesn't function the same way, because red wild assault is good for some characters. The thing thats crazy about shield deflect is I see it get used and the person still gets hit when using it. yrc is better than deflect shield in every way as far as Im aware. I think the mechanic should be reworked entirely and serve a different purpose, maybe it becomes an anti projectile move? That would be more useful.
I feel ike White Assault is probably in a good place if you're on the fence about if it's good or not... In honesty, that's probably as good as it can get for such a potentially incendiary ability.

I think TC3 is the least fun to play personally, but I feel like I NEED to because mana regen is in there and it is so busted. If I don't have it up though, I'm spending all my damn oki micromanaging my mana. The auto import spell is also nuts, but I think less fundamentally important as the mana spell. The mana spell in TC1 is just good, and the rest of the attack spells are fun (screamer is funny as hell). The attack spells in TC2 are REALLY fun, but the mana regen spell in it is a joke, and the rest of its support cards aren't good either. TC3 has exodia (and either component is still huge without the other one), but I'm just drowning in teleports in it.
The goat for speaking the truth on Badguy and Asuka. The only reason Sol is that high right now is RWA which WILL get nerfed while Asuka is just braindead in matchups that aren't bad for him
Imo nago makes the game look very bad rn. He was in a good spot at the end of season 2, but this… this is a straight party game character. As much as I’d love for them to take away the high low, I don’t see it happening this patch if at all. ASW likes to let things cook for a while before changing anything, which also probably means no changes for Johnny. The other thing I’ve noticed is that they don’t like going back on changes either. Once a change is put out it MAY get adjusted, but for the most part it’s here to stay. Only time will tell whether or not my skepticism is warranted, but even if you do genuinely think they’re gonna touch it I wouldn’t hold your breath for this patch.

Idek if they’re gonna do much with Faust tbh. What he needs to go past mid tier in Strive is for air blocking to not be in the game. And there’s no way they’re gonna let that rock JUST for Faust. They’d have to shoot him afterwards if that were to happen 😂
i don't think burst steal is necessary from a resource management perspective. if you're getting hit with a wild assault combo, you pretty much would have to burst it, as the reward is too good to let your opponent have in Guilty Gear Snowball. if they do burst your wild assault combo, then you lost only half of your burst gauge while they lost 66%.
Baiken main here, her dmg is ok, but is her tools are lacking and she has (objetively speaking) the worst 6p in game and her hit box in the air is just dumb... And Testament does need something, more flexibilty on the game plan I guess.
Baiken just really didn't feel fun to play this patch. Basically having to learn 3-4 new routes off of jS>236S depending on position and enemy hurtbox felt really bad, especially when other characters could just unga bunga even harder with red WA. The gun sweet spot is really fucking cool but our damage was already cranked in that range. It was never a thing Baiken struggled with. Her weaknesses are bad conversions off of stray hits which.. marginally got better because of blue WA? But then again so did everyone else by nature of a system change. Baiken is meant to loop set-ups off of a HKD like a less agile but brawlier Millia but why even play her when a third of the cast can easily just get you with 3 or 4 interactions off of positive loops with WA or Millia at least has cracked neutral and stronger set-play. Basically none of the issues that kept Baiken out of being in regularly seen in top 8s were adressed this season while the things that made characters good only made them better. It's the same with a lot of other characters that just.. feel lackluster this season.
I'm pretty sure they aren't giving new moves to DLC characters, so Testament wouldn't be on the list. They probably deserve one tho, because holy shit this character is boring as hell compared to what they did in XX.
I think what they are going to do is give a new move to all of the main cast first to then give new moves to the Season 1 characters and that´s it, or at least give them only to Goldlewis and Testament, cause the other three alredy have a solid and complete kit in my opinion. That or I´m just coping real hard for a new move for Test, they need one DESPERATELY. And after trying out AC+R, I can personally say that I prefer Strive´s Testament to the old one, simply because it fits more my style (and old Testament is so good that I even feel bad for the opponent while using them xd), and in my opinion, they have the potential to be a really cool character to watch, but they feel really incomplete and sauceless for the most part. A new move or a heavy rework in some of their buttons or/and alredy existing special moves should be enough to make them perfect.
One new poorly animateed move isnt going to change the gameplan of the character. Old Test and Strive Test are literally two different characters at this point,same with xrd Ram and Strive Ram.

In fact, you are right about old Testament being way more skill expressive that the new one. But, even if sadly that's not the case right now, I think Strive Testament haves the potential to become a entertaining character to watch, not a the level of the old one but a little bit close. They just need to be given more crazy qualities to their alredy existing options or give them some new ones to have a more complete and creative movepool.
wondering what ya meant by unbearable for Bridget, I imagine ya mean she's in a good spot and that buffs could push her over the edge but I wish I woulda tuned into the stream to ask in the moment. Sin getting a damage hit on overdrives wouldn't be too bad for probably a buncha reasons but to me it's that they wallbreak into positive bonus easy making him have a lot of meters that he "doesn't" have to worry about. Also Bedman right, he has his spike and guard crush move for strings for a gamble or "safish" ender while spin with meter is the golden goose for him. I wonder if giving him a new move like returning head throw could help him, otherwise honestly, give him low profile ish stuff for his lows? (2S and 2D) I dunno. Looking at his kit though I don't see the major issue.

When they nerf wild assault Anji is once again going to be left with nothing if they don't compensate with 1 of 2 things, giving Anji back his fear factor (doesn't have to be rekka ch, but fuujin needs to be scary it's the only reason why he sorta worked in season 2), or they need to give the neutral conditioning based character actually good normals to contend with in neutral. Saying "do not touch him" is exactly why he's hanging by a thread in the first place.

All fuujin needs is conditioning power, I don't think fuujin itself needs to be any stronger, but make the follow-ups give Anji a real reward for choosing the right option
Maybe chill on the forward momentum stuff. Not all characters need a coast to coast combo and everyone is interested in doing mid screen combos because it's fun and the corner isn't an option.
They should have a perfect defense where you don't get stunn. If you can prefect defend HC gun shot. You shouldn't get stunned for 80 frames lmao ha ha ha
idk. i feel like all the character that just play at HS range and turn the game off should be nerfed. HC/Axl/Asuka zoning, ram "neutral" and the bridget yoyo with the returning hitbox just make the game a full screen staring contest. if i wanted street fighter neutral i'd just play street fighter.
Coming back from some online play and I gotta say, what an absolute disgrace of a system, the developers are actually stating that because it's the beginning of the month I'm just forbidden from playing in floor 10, because people like hotashi himself are now put into the same floor as me, what an actual embarrassment to have a ranking system like this that forces players to just bobble between floor 9 and 10, even though at the end of the month I'll be in celestial for 4 days. Insane that they see this system and think "yep, everyone belongs where they should be"
Ok honest opinion of a super casual player. I have never actually used the parry or the wild assault because getting out of a combo string is just something I can never give up on. Personally I think the wild assault and parry should be using our green meter or have separate resource.
Potemkin's new move is gonna be trash again, WA made him weaker yet again. How weak should Potemkin be? Arcsys answer is just "yes" Can't wait for Tekken 8

Also, it wouldn't happen after a combo, but after failing to mix someone up and keep them guessing to the point they can predict exactly what you're gonna do and when you're gonna shoot. It's something that should be rewarded in that matchup. After all, he is a one star Character and should feel a little more like it. More like Jacko and Zato where one miss when it comes to clones means your plans go up in smoke. Anything less is just huge privilege with that type of character. Currently, he can just loop the safe offense stuff and randomly go for left right, throw, high-low, and always keep himself perfectly safe. Building risk after being a little TOO predictable with things would be one way to interact with him and keep HC on his toes
Cause characters have too many tools that make matchups volatile and one sided. Reducing the strength of some characters is necessary to keep the game from being about three to five characters in tournament

This patch has had its rough spots, but it's got me very hyped for what's to come. Lots of potential for something fantastic

I think WA leading into a hard knockdown after wallbreak is a bit overkill too, the move just does way too much lol

And after trying out AC+R, I can personally say that I prefer Strive´s Testament to the old one, simply because it fits more my style (and old Testament is so good that I even feel bad for the opponent while using them xd), and in my opinion, they have the potential to be a really cool character to watch, but they feel really incomplete and sauceless for the most part. A new move or a heavy rework in some of their buttons or/and alredy existing special moves should be enough to make them perfect.
One new poorly animateed move isnt going to change the gameplan of the character.
Old Test and Strive Test are literally two different characters at this point,same with xrd Ram and Strive Ram.

In fact, you are right about old Testament being way more skill expressive that the new one. But, even if sadly that's not the case right now, I think Strive Testament haves the potential to become a entertaining character to watch, not a the level of the old one but a little bit close. They just need to be given more crazy qualities to their alredy existing options or give them some new ones to have a more complete and creative movepool.

Sin getting a damage hit on overdrives wouldn't be too bad for probably a buncha reasons but to me it's that they wallbreak into positive bonus easy making him have a lot of meters that he "doesn't" have to worry about.
Also Bedman right, he has his spike and guard crush move for strings for a gamble or "safish" ender while spin with meter is the golden goose for him. I wonder if giving him a new move like returning head throw could help him, otherwise honestly, give him low profile ish stuff for his lows? (2S and 2D) I dunno. Looking at his kit though I don't see the major issue.

@youaintknowmebutIbespittinfr all fuujin does is give soft knockdown with no actual reward for conditioning the opponent correctly with it, he doesn't have good enough reward off of the crux of his offense. When they nerf wild assault Anji is once again going to be left with nothing if they don't compensate with 1 of 2 things, giving Anji back his fear factor (doesn't have to be rekka ch, but fuujin needs to be scary it's the only reason why he sorta worked in season 2), or they need to give the neutral conditioning based character actually good normals to contend with in neutral. Saying "do not touch him" is exactly why he's hanging by a thread in the first place.
@youaintknowmebutIbespittinfr like I said at this point it doesn't need to be CH fuujin or its rekkas, Arcsys have made it clear they want him to be a reset character, and the simply changes of making Nagiha HKD and making rin either bounce again or making it gapless would push Anji in the right direction. All fuujin needs is conditioning power, I don't think fuujin itself needs to be any stronger, but make the follow-ups give Anji a real reward for choosing the right option
Maybe chill on the forward momentum stuff. Not all characters need a coast to coast combo and everyone is interested in doing mid screen combos because it's fun and the corner isn't an option.

idk. i feel like all the character that just play at HS range and turn the game off should be nerfed. HC/Axl/Asuka zoning, ram "neutral" and the bridget yoyo with the returning hitbox just make the game a full screen staring contest. if i wanted street fighter neutral i'd just play street fighter.

Coming back from some online play and I gotta say, what an absolute disgrace of a system, the developers are actually stating that because it's the beginning of the month I'm just forbidden from playing in floor 10, because people like hotashi himself are now put into the same floor as me, what an actual embarrassment to have a ranking system like this that forces players to just bobble between floor 9 and 10, even though at the end of the month I'll be in celestial for 4 days. Insane that they see this system and think "yep, everyone belongs where they should be"

Ok honest opinion of a super casual player. I have never actually used the parry or the wild assault because getting out of a combo string is just something I can never give up on. Personally I think the wild assault and parry should be using our green meter or have separate resource.

Also, nerf happy chaos so that JUST blocking bullets gives HC risk, and that reloading multiple bullets right next to eachother makes Focus get hit depending on how long you reload, starting at 0 then slowly going up.

@@maninhu9837 eh, depending on how long he shoots in neutral, and how long he shoots predictably too. Also, it wouldn't happen after a combo, but after failing to mix someone up and keep them guessing to the point they can predict exactly what you're gonna do and when you're gonna shoot. It's something that should be rewarded in that matchup.
After all, he is a one star Character and should feel a little more like it. More like Jacko and Zato where one miss when it comes to clones means your plans go up in smoke. Anything less is just huge privilege with that type of character. Currently, he can just loop the safe offense stuff and randomly go for left right, throw, high-low, and always keep himself perfectly safe. Building risk after being a little TOO predictable with things would be one way to interact with him and keep HC on his toes

Cause characters have too many tools that make matchups volatile and one sided. Reducing the strength of some characters is necessary to keep the game from being about three to five characters in tournament
