How To Cook Turnips Greens With Cornbread Dumplings

- Cook your turnips as usual. When the turnips are tender but need to cook down then get some of the broth and add it to the cornbread dumplings. Cornbread dumplings recipe: 1/2 cup self-rising cornmeal, small onion, salt and pepper to taste,onion powder and garlic powder, broth from turnips greens. Mix everything together and drop from spoon into the turnips pot. Do not stir but lift dumpling to keep from sticking.
I have only discovered one other person who knows about this dish other than my grandma ... I am thrilled!

That looks delicious, I'll definitely have to try it. I do have to say it just about killed me when you cut that Ziploc with a knife. I'm so cheap, I wash them out and reuse them until the zipper wears out!

I always dipped my cornbread into the liquid (pot likker, as mama called it) and loved it, but this incorporates the two. That sauce looks amazing, I’m gonna make us some this week. My wife loves greens and cornbread, and she makes a killer swamp soup (turnip soup), so I think she’ll be happy with it. I’ll let you know how it turns out. 😊
