Great job guys! Love how each of you sing solos in this song, and also all sing backup, and the drummer singing Mike's part is really cool. Love it!

Guys, as a felloiw Hoosier (up north in Mishawaka), fellow musician, and fellow Beach Boys fan(atic), I had to comment and thank you for what you do during 'touring season' and here on your RUclips channel. To give you an idea of my commitment to BB music, I attended music school three times (the last two times for music composition), went back and studied BB songs (as well as Beatles and Carpenters songs too) independently in the 1990s and have studied and taught melodic songwriting since then. I attended Brian Wilson & Band concerts touring SMiLE twice (2004 and 2005), attended the Mike & Bruce BB show here in 2005, and wrote a set of Piano Variations on "Surfer Girl" that was shared with Brian and two of his band members around the time they played the local Performing Arts Center here in South Bend in the fall of 2008. I spoke with Brian himself by phone in 2004 for a few minutes and met him and his wife Melinda in Chicago in 2005. As a private Piano teacher I arranged several BB songs for my students to play along with me as duets for their recitals. Al Jardine and several of Brian's (now former) band members are 'friends' on Facebook. My name is on a brick on the BB Landmark in Hawthorne. Though not a vocalist myself, I've written several original songs in BB style with 5-part Vocal Harmony parts.
What I wanted to say here is what a FINE JOB you do with the BB catalog and with your recreations of their songs. Most people have little idea of the work involved, or of how much it is a labor of love. Few understand the challenge of playing instruments while also singing Vocals that are FAR from easy. Achieving a good and full Vocal blend is difficult, especially when outdoors, and you manage a very convincing 4-part mix of what was, very often, a 5-part original mix. The falsetto parts are often challenging just to get all the notes much less to render them beautifully. I've looked at your website and realize you all have 'day jobs' too and that you have other demanding commitments besides performing this music. But you really DO A WONDERFUL JOB WITH IT! I regret that I didn't learn of your tribute band sooner so I could attend a concert in person, and with regret am currently in the throes of chronic illness that makes it hard to travel any distance. :-( But I wanted to thank you for your RUclips channel and for what you do to keep this music in the ears of people via live performances. It won't be much longer, I think, before Mike and Bruce call it quits, and of course Brian is at this point already retired from touring for good.
Having watched you all kibbutz around ahead of taking the stage, I see that you also have an appreciation of humor so I thought I would post something here for you to read as a laugh. For the past year or so during my time being ill I've gotten my mind off of that by writing song lyric parodies--for most of the Beatles catalog songs, plus for many Beach Boys and Carpenters songs too--in order to keep SOME part of my brain and musical creativity going. I don't know if you specifically like parodies--I write some really off-the-wall silly ones--and of course I don't wish to introduce 'alternative' lyrics into your heads that you might mistakenly remember later--and 'fatally' so--during one of your own concerts. But, having forewarned you of that danger here, I will post one of my parodies for your bemusement below since it goes with this video. (Transposing two letters in the original song title gave my my premise for this one.) I write my parodies not to mock the original artists but out of admiration for the original versions, actually.
Please keep up the good work and music-making for as long as circumstances permit, etc. and know that the joyous music you recreate for people brings them a lot of happiness. I have to think Brian Wilson, for one, would be pleased with your efforts and faithfulness to his arrangements/recordings.
    -----------------------------------
    WATCH A CAVE

(sung by a Mike Love sound-alike to the tune of 'Catch a Wave' by The Beach Boys)
Watch a cave while you're sitting on top of a rock!
    Don't be afraid to try the calmest sport around;
(Watch a cave, watch a cave! Everybody thinks its nuts.)
Those who don't can't see why it's profound.
You climb inside, turn around and sit
And, baby, that's all there is 'til it's time to quit.
You gotta watch a cave while you're sitting on top of a rock!
Not yet a fad 'cause so few can see the point.
('Watch a cave? Watch a cave?!?' Spelunkers want to climb.)
Folks say: "It hurts my Coccyx joint!"
They'll catch the drift after sitting there
And knowing they're all alone while they breathe and stare.
And as they watch that cave they'll be thinkin' more like Mr. Spock.
[Organ and Guitar solos with hand claps]
Watch a cave while you're sitting on top of a rock!
So take a lesson from a top-notch watcher guy.
(Watch a cave, watch a cave! And leave your smart phone at home.)
But don't just sit there bored and sigh!
Imagine how much the world outside
Would like to leave their stress behind, go run and hide
Like when you watch a cave while you're sittin' on top of a rock.
(Way inside, and on top of a rock)
Watch a cave while you're sitting on top of a rock.
(Way inside, and on top of a rock)
Watch a cave while you're sitting on top of a rock.

Oh is that what I was hearing? They’re really tight but something seemed off on the opening harmonies. Not pitch-wise, but tonality-wise. Seemed too modern or artificial.
