Here in Woodbury. The Beach Boys version of this absolutely blew me away the first time I heard it, circa 1978. But like almost vinyl and most CDs, the dynamics were (deliberately) compressed. Much of what was lost is here-AND this arrangement is unbelievably spot on. The vocals, tymps, saxes, everything is sounds the way Brian would have arranged it now. Priceless.
This absolutely staggers the imagination. The Beach Boys' records are among the most intricately and lavishly arranged and executed records in all of music. And the Fendertones come along with everything from this Bobby Freeman cover to the Surf's Up period and just absolutely NAIL it. Everything, from the subtle harmonies, to every instrumental flourish, right in place. And yet there's nothing clinical about it. It's pure joy, not to mention obviously the result of a lot of answered prayer. Job way, way over the top well done.

Agreed ! I always search to find covers of different genres then I clicked on Sloop John B cover and was very very Impressed. but never before have I clicked on a song and followed song after song. The Fendertones awesome ! And now this is the 4th song I've heard by you guys and still moving forward. These songs were my era growning up with roy orbison, 4 seasons, Gary lewis and the playboys. Those were the most excellent years as opposed to 2021 lotta crazy people in the world today.. HA !
This magnificent "wall to wall" sound is perfect. The tension and drama that builds up repeatedly is awesome. When I tell people I don't understand or dig "modern" music (basically everything from the 80's and later), this performance exactly illustrates my position. There is NO modern music this beautiful!
Don't know what I love most about this video. The music is obviously awesome, but I think Beer Guy takes the award for best backing vocalist. Plus that whole vibe of hyper lead singer vs session musicians who like to give off the "I can cut this turkey by mail" aura. Just a bunch of good musicians making great music in the living room!

An absolute triumph! Better than the Beach Boys, who are my all-time favourite feel-good band from the 60's. Stumbled on this after my wife was singing a few bars -- I always remembered the BB version. But this arrangement is stunning and the execution masterful! Thanks soooo much :-)
I liked the end where you could just hear the vocals. Pretty cool with very talented, world class vocals. This is music with depth which is rarely heard in today’s pop music.

It's good to hear Tribute bands playing really good music. A movement should be started to bring music like this back. It's so nice and clean none violent. :-)
Bobby Freeman wrote it and had the original mega-hit in 1958. This is the 1965 Beach Boys version, which happened to be their only charted song that featured Dennis Wilson on lead vocals. Well done!
I love what these people do to honor the profound goodness that The Beach Boys represented in the overall mix of American pop culture...but I especially enjoy that it takes, like, 30 people to faithfully reproduce the studio sound of TBB!
Back in my days as a boy-scout in the 80s, my troop used to sing Beach Boys songs on our hikes. We weren't this good, but those songs were a lot of fun to sing!
I love the way they make it appear as if it were just a bunch of Joes getting together on a Friday night over a beer. It gives us all inspiration to just just do it and have fun.
