Good job Clint, I feel like I was right there with you. Thanks for not being too hard on us old boomers, that high temp RTV was all we had and we had to learn the hard way that it was no good on an engine! Wish we had a video of your first 1.9l Isuzu swap in a 1984 S10 Chevy truck or the 304 V8 AMC in a 78 Jeep CJ5😅

I drilled and tapped the passenger side engine mount and attached the intake manifold bracket to it. It made me a little concerned knowing the heavy intake manifold assembly would only be attached to the block, and the leverage that would be exerted against it hitting a big pothole on a dirt road at 50 MPH. I see you guys omitted it, and I guess a most people don't have any trouble without it, but it was super easy to keep it and know for sure that sucker is well mounted.

That’s actually pretty smart, it wouldn’t be hard to pull that mount and tap it as it sits…. Might have to look around the shop for that bracket. Thanks for commenting

I'm kinda jealous, I wish I knew all of this vehicle mechanical stuff. Thanks Clint!

Well if a man made it, a man should be able to fix it. I just go into everything mechanical with the confidence that if I can’t fix it, I know a lot of dudes who I can ask to help me put it back together 🤗🤣

Hey bro, that heater hose around the 5:00 mark, apparently if you tee a hose from that to the other heater hose that connects to the water pump outlet pipe it gives continuous coolant flow to the back of head as it would if you had your heater on and the hose tap would be open allowing coolant to pass through the heater core back to the head. they reckon that could be why these 16 valve 1.6 motors crack heads more often when installed into samurais as when their in their factory configuration in a sidekick they actually have continuous coolant flow design unlike the factory samurai heater hose config.

That’s a good point, I kinda thought about doing something lie, that when I kept having a leak on that hose…. Might have to try it out on this rig. Thanks for the comment

Funny you mentioned your on day 3 on engine swap. I'm on day 163 on my engine swap. 😅
Mine is taking longer just cause I want it to me CA compliant to meet emissions.

Well when you have bros helping it goes pretty quick, but when you’re all by yourself and can’t stop thinking about getting some tacos and taking a cruise out to the glacier, it goes by so slow 🤣
