I went to CEX a couple of weeks ago and saw No Country on 4K. I snatched it up, only to look at it closer and realise that someone in the back room had clearly just grabbed whatever box they could reach for the regular Blu-ray when putting it out on the shelf, not realising the deep cut personal rollercoaster I would go on when I saw it only to have my heart broken.
Now that Paramount is finally digging into the Miramax titles I do really hope it’s happening
Seen a Zillion movies. That one is in my top 3.

Amadeus 4K restoration was recently presented at the Academy Museum to a sold out audience. Even if it’s December, I want to see it on 4K UHD for its 40th anniversary. Nice predictions!
Dances With Wolves needs to be the directors cut. I would pay 100 buck for that zero questions asked.
"Shane" deserves a 4K. Alan Ladd put his entire soul into that performance, and the Grand Tetons are just beautiful in the background.

I really really need an Eyes Wide Shut 4k upgrade. It’s been rumored for years and I would love to see it finally be officially announced.

We also don't have a 4K release of "Lolita". I've been waiting on that one (particularly from Criterion, at least on Blu-ray) for years. (I know Warner put out an old Blu-ray years ago.)
@@blakeevans8210 Quite correct, we almost have the full set of 4K UHDs for the Kubrick canon of work ... just missing 'Lolita', 'Barry Lyndon' and 'Eyes Wide Shut'. I suspect Frank Tarzi at Kino Lorber may be our saviour on these but, maybe, Warner Bros or Criterion will come good.
We need Blue Thunder on 4K, Roy Scheider other classic to come out. 2023 would’ve been the 40th Anniversary of that movie.
Ben-Hur, El Cid, Cleopatra, All That Jazz and Sorcererer are classics that should come out on 4K.
El Cid needs it so badly. I am begging for a North American release. Heck, I’d take a region a blu ray.
I thought for sure Ben hur was a lock for this year but it’s not looking too good.
El Cid is one of two movies that are at the top of my list for a blu ray or 4k release in North America.
The other is John Wayne’s the Alamo and next year is the 65th anniversary. I really hope it finally happens.
Those two movies would be amazing. I could finally retire my DVDs.

@@Reggaebeatman yea there are releases of el cid in France, Australia, Germany but they’re based on the 30 year old restoration they did in the 90s. They used the same master for the dvd.
Is a crying shame, it’s such a great movie and deserves better treatment. Sadly, it seems like Weinstein still owns it. I sure hope something comes by the anniversary in 2026. It sure would be a good candidate for a kino lorber title- maybe even criterion.
We really need a 30th anniversary 4k of Stargate

Seven, Ben Hur, Dances With Wolves, The Sound of Music, all of these better be the best 4K transfers ever. Nothing less is required
I really hope Tron and Tron: Legacy gets a 4K release with the third film expected next year. I would also include White Christmas on my wish list.
One Flew Over Cukoo’s Nest, Tombstone,Wyatt Earp, The Rock, Con Air, Broken Arrow, Legend of the fall, A river runs through it. El Cid, Cleopatra, Dr. Zhivago
Been waiting on Tombstone for so long. Just re-watched Broken Arrow and it desperately needs a remaster, that OG Blu is really showing its age

We absolutely have to have Dances With Wolves on 4k blu-ray. It would look stunning, and I wouldn't mind about the cost. It's such a great film!
I'm hoping for The Last Samurai and The Last of the Mohicans. They will make it on 4K.

I'm dying for more Paul Newman on 4k. The Hustler and Hud in particular.
The color of money whilst you’re at it
It wouldn't surprise me if Kino Lorber did "The Hustler", which is one of Newman's best films.
"Hud" is one I've been wanting to see for years. Given that it's Paramount, it could (at the very least) get a Paramount Presents Blu-ray release.
Barry Lyndon in 4K for the 50th anniversary is a must ... hopefully, 'Kubrick by Candlelight' will be included as an extra; the current Criterion Blu-ray, issued in 2017, is from a 4K master.
As an aside, I am hopeful for an 'Eyes Wide Shut' 4K in late 2024 as that movie is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

We have to wait and see what Sony does, given that it appears that Disney sold the Fox library home video rights to them.
On that, I agree, that would be great, especially for The Criterion Collection, who should also do Weir's 1986 film "The Mosquito Coast".
With the 25th anniversary of The Iron Giant, I could see a 4K release for the holidays this year.
Seven has been up for pre-order on 4K in the UK for a few months, no on sale date yet though....
Fincher has spoken a bit about the restoration process, I think he’d be pretty meticulous in how it looks in the 4K format, but I can’t wait for it!!!
One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest on 4K Blu-Ray for its 50th Anniversary defiantly needs to happen! Here’s hoping Warner Bros. will release it on 4K next year!

I was really hopeful since this year is its 50th anniversary and I doubt we'd see it but I just think Young Frankenstein would be incredible in 4K. One of my all times faves and we know how incredible black and white looks
I hope Children of Men gets a 4K release. One of my most wanted, I could see Criterion releasing it for its 20th anniversary in 2026 🤞🏼
Boy those colors on Barry Lyndon on your screen shots are beautiful. I have never seen that movie. But I want to see it. And yes TMNT is screaming for a 4K upgrade!

Amadeus!!! Been waiting patiently for years for a 4k with (hopefully) both cuts - Director's & Theatrical. Amadeus is one of those rare cases where I think the Director's Cut is inferior to the theatrical & the only version available on Blu ray or streaming is the Director's. Here's hoping they deliver soon!
Dances With Wolves would be amazing. I'm also waiting for Cold Mountain to be released on 4K.
I have a feeling we'll also get Airplane on 4K next year for its anniversary. The restoration was done a few years ago for the Paramount Presents Blu-ray
Dances with wolves would look absolutely stunning on 4K, those wide open unspoiled vistas and gorgeous sunsets 😍
4K Wishlist: Adventures in Babysitting, Kill Bill, Sneakers, Iron Eagle, Spacecamp, Memphis Belle, Boogie Nights. - Even some really nice boutique bluray restorations would be great.
PTA films in 4K would be spectacular!!!
I feel Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood would be the best looking in 4K out of the films Robert Elswit photographed for PTA, fantastic use of film stock and colours and lighting (in fact, Punch-Drunk Love is great in the colours department!!)
English Patient, Last of the Mohicans, Out of Africa and Master and Commander are needed badly in 4K

I am a little surprised that Dances with Wolves hasn't gotten a 4k release considering just how popular Yellowstone is and how Kevin Costner is the face of it. I bet we see that sooner rather than later.

The both of those, including classic HBO shows like "The Sopranos", "Sex and the City", "Six Feet Under", "Oz" and "The Wire" should be a given.

I have a soft spot for The Perfect Storm, hoping the effects still look decent
It will be the 35th Anniversary for Edward Scissorhands and the 26th for Fight Club so it is the perfect time for both but Disney so who knows. Edward Scissorhands is in 4K on streaming so the scan must have been done.
"Brazil" (1985) MUST come out on 4K!!!

@@adamjames6683 The 2019 Spanish (A/B/C) Blu-ray with DTS 5.1 is excellent and is well worth searching out in advance of any 4K release ... you may need to search for Pink Floyd 'El Muro'.

Three Days of the Condor was just released in 4K in 2024 from KL. Why hasn’t Memento been released on 4K. Most of Nolan’s other stuff is

Clint Eastwood movies Two Mules for Sister Sara, Kellys Heroes (55 year anniversary 2025), The Eiger Sanction (50 year), Pale Rider (40 year), The Bridges of Madison County (30 year), Space Cowboys (25 year). Hopefully we'll finally get a 4K release of The Outlaw Josey Wales (50 year in 2026)
Memento, Black Swan, Sin City, TMNT, Constantine to name a few off the top of my head.
I would like Fantasia and Mary Poppins to come to 4K blu ray, but hopefully Sony gets the permission from Disney to release classic Disney movies. They should release Se7en and the original TMNT movie on 4K blu ray!
I'd love to see every David Fincher film in 4k.

I appreciate your push for a Fantasia 4K. Disney really teased us with their Cinderella and Snow White restorations last year. Fantasia feels like a no-brainer.

Agree with all these great films. Hoping TMNT includes an extended cut with all the deleted scenes incorporated. One other im hoping for is William Wyler's Ben Hur. Deserves the same treatment as 2001 A Space Odyssey received.
I keep hoping that we get the Kill Bill 4K release that was announced last year but hasn’t materialized. Also, another series that absolutely deserves 4K is the James Bond franchise pre-Daniel Craig. With the 60th anniversary of the series come and gone, we can only hope for a 65th or maybe a tie-in with the next film whenever it comes out.
We need more stuff with Humphrey Bogart. Key Largo, The Big Sleep and the Treasure of the Sierra Madre.
The Book Of Eli. It’s one of the most underrated apocalypse movies of all time. It’s got Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman for crying out loud. It would be absolutely amazing on 4k. A dynamic atmos soundtrack would sound astonishing with all the overhead action and all the fighting and gunfire in general.
Great commentary on TMNT. As a kid I liked Secret of the Ooze way more than the first one. As an adult, #2 is a major cheese factory, but #1 really holds up!

It's going to be 25th anniversary for Eyes wide shut this September. We need a new remaster for that to complete the Kubrick collection.

Yes, 100% on the 1990 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! When I got my 4K player, that was one of the first titles I tried to track down, and was very disappointed that it hadn't been released yet. Fingers crossed 🤞 on that one!

I wish they’d at least do a blu ray. I couldn’t believe it when they remastered the original to 4k and released it right before the new one came out, only to not release a 4k of the new one.
