5:37 if the match UI does look that that, its massively better having everything there like formations, other match scores, live table etc, rather than just having your match stats taking up most of the screen, and then having to pull up that little tablet up to see eveything else.
I can't help but feel that SI bit off a bit more than it could chew, under pressure from a section of the player base who demand major improvements and overhauls each year. Still, I'm sure the new version will be very good when it does come out. Women's football will be a very exciting inclusion!
It's worrying to me that we haven't even seen a screenshot of the match engine, even in a pre-alpha build. But, if they are able to nail the volumetric animations, revamp tactics & A.I., then they'll be off to a good start to build upon.
I'm not worried about this as we're gonna see it soon. Before the game launches. They're clearly saving the biggest change to the game until one of the last announcements, which makes me believe they are happy with it and are just building up to it.
Everyone saying the UI looks like a mobile game, can we just acknowledge that the screenshots state they are from a design files and not from the game build, so theres a chance it may not even look like that yet.
I'm imagining "Your manager" like this: I play the first save, I win something, I get a reputation... if I start a new save, I would like to be able to "continue" my background and reputation (for example, I won UCL with Chelsea, in the new save I should be known for that...) - the downside being the fact that you start from the year 2024 every time, but I would still like the feature... PS: I didn't know there was this thing on console, I'll check the podcast after I watch your video
As long as the graphics are better, the recommended card is a RTX 2060 , which is pretty much what’s in a PS5 , so it must be good . And the UI I wouldn’t worry about, once the skin makers get hold of it im sure they’ll make some killer skins . I’ve played since 1992 , the game has moved on slowly, but this might be the version that really pushes it forward .
The requirements is a great point I was going to make and forgot! It’s a great point! Yes- this is first time since 1992 they are rethinking the approach to the game. That’s exciting. Most game genres evolve and reinvent. It’s never happened in football management games
I'm optimistic, as long as the game isn't buggy and has the basic features of for an FM save I'm content. Excited to see the new Match engine, currently not a huge fan of the UI but probably will get used to it and think its fine. They've only removed things because they're WIP, they'll be added back later and improved. Always thought International management needed an overhaul, thought it was almost like a mod whenever I've used it, just not a smooth experience imo so glad to see they're improving that
Hi Si, I really want to be blown away with FM25. I look forward to undertaking the new potential decathalon challenge of winning a champions league on each continent with both the mens and womens teams. However, what worries me is that SI does unfortunately have a little bit of a reputation of 'hyping up' underwhelming features. I think we remember that awful FM23 video where almost everyone was scratching heads about whether the squad planner and manager timelines were really particularly worth the mention. I think Miles got a lot praise for his frankness and honesty with the FM24 annoucement as we all kind of got used to the opposite so it was really refreshing to see him say "yeah, fm23 was a bit pants, and fm24 might be a bit pants too." However, he offset that too with the whole fm25 announcement and got us all excited. Ultimately, it is kind of Miles and SI that set that benchmark, and yeah, some of us feel a bit let down with the somewhat underwhelming news since then. It doesn't mean we're haters, or 'toxic', we just got really excited because Miles told us to get excited, and now we feel a little let down. I look forward to womens football, its been a long time coming and lot of hard work by all involved. I look forward to FM25, i think there's been a lot of hard work involved in that too, and I think its going to have some awesome things in it. Despite all that, I'm just personally left feeling a little underwhelmed so far and really hoping what comes out over the next 6 weeks really does step up.
On the haters or toxic fans- your response is reasoned and makes sense- but look at some the other replies this video gets… I think disappointment with 22>23>24 was the lack of change in the game. This years is already going to be a much bigger change
@@SiMaggio Thanks for the understanding Si. For me, that 'element' of the FM community has always been there. These are the people that put others down for simming matches, or save scumming. At times, these elements have had their toxicty reinforced by the content creator community as well. The video by Omega Luke a few months ago about it spoke volumes to me. Love the positivity in this video - I share a similar optimism. I think the UI will be a breath of fresh air for the game, I work with data daily - going from spreadsheets all day to FM24 is pretty painful. The tile and cards system is like updating from Excel to PowerBI, easier on the eye with the same level of detail and a much simpler navigation and drillability option. I welcome women's football, brings a different dimension to Football manager - although International Management being stripped out is disappointing in this instance. Great video this and I think its a breath of fresh air with alot of the negativity around the game. I'm more excited about the new UI, I've played a lot of iterations of FM I played FM19 and I've played FM24 and I even played CM back in the day 01/02. I know what you're saying, people don't like change but if they adapt to the change and the game flows nicely then it will be enjoyable. I'm enjoying the extra time on FM24 to finish my save, it's not ideal that FM25 has been delayed but if it means we get a much more stable game, I'm okay with it.

Well… all your hopes are basically in cosmetics… what matter how the game engine simulate the game not how it displays it, what matter is how micro and macro economic model will be updated, what matters is how AI decision making will improve… how tactics & players decision making will evolves… don’t fall for a FIFA style of “realism” which is purely cosmetic… what’s the point of new leagues, new stadium, new interface if the game engine is crap, if competition is crap, if economy is crap…
the manager stuff is not cosmetic at all. Nore the game being reimagined to change things like the inbox to messaging. These are fundamental gameplay changes to how we interact with the game
“So many features”. We haven’t really. We’ve temporarily lost draft mode and undertaking international management. Both need a massive overhaul. One of those will be back in an update. Nothing else we’ve “lost” is even consequential. And the connection to the addition of women’s football is irrelevant- it’s moving to a new energise and them needing an overhaul that’s caused it
@@SiMaggio I am simply providing the cons and pros. We got women football and we lost the create a club feature, international football, shouts, Versus mode and Challenge mode. They could have been improved but they served their purpose and losing them is a big miss to me and others.. We're also discussing FM 25. @@leonleon8675 Indeed, the permanent removal of shouts is my biggest gripe and reason I will no longer play the game. For me it's non-negotiable in representing a "realistic" football management sim. Now that it's not there, there is no way you can man manage your players during the 90 minutes. That is not a realistic representation of football management and how a manager can influence his players to try to perform better in a game and make a difference. Your only option is to plugin a broken tactic to change the game and your normal subs. I've no idea what SI were thinking permanently removing it. In a nutshell this game was designed to attract newer / more casual players to maximise profitability long-term, at the expense of realism and removing the potential for additional depth. (such as removing weight as a statistic, which could have been further implemented by giving the metric a greater importance / impact when producing schedules for pre-season training, where a good regime means your players are fully fit to start the year well, and those not at an optimum weight would take a month or so before they are at the ideal levels). So the option for a greater management experience in regards to training has now completely gone too. It's also a stat that is a standard metric for all athletes of varying sports, and of different genders. I would be offended if I was a female athlete being the cause of its removal, as you wouldn't be treating me equally to a male athlete, that being recognising the importance of weight management as key to optimising performance levels, and maximising consistency.
