I have traveled for a month with only a carry-on bag. I use (in summer) only black or white pants, black or white shirt/jackets and then multi color tees or tank tops and patterned scarves. On the plane, I wear the heavy shoes and the heaviest of the tops with the biggest hand bag. I have a raincoat over my arm - so none of those things are in my bag. I have underwear, sandals, one flat dressy purse and a small collection of jewelry with one pair of earrings that's more sparkly. Everything has to be washable. If it's someplace that might be cold, I pack a lightweight set of silk long johns. My underwear is my oldest and can be left behind in the hotel waste basket when I get back on the plane to go home if I've bought too much along the way and need the space. I also stick in one string bag for shopping and bringing my souvenirs home.
I am reading your comment and wondering how can you know all my packing secrets?! Even the old underwear trick 😂. I also throw away deodorant, toothbrushes and anything else that I can easily and cheaply buy back home. I always bring a small durable bag on a plane in my backpack or carryon. When I board, my sweater and my rain jacket that i carried on my arm go into that bag. My husband also has a backpack and a carryon. 🤗🤗

Great tips. I always pack a straw hat (or 2) when travelling in warm weather. I place it at the bottom of my case, stuff the head part with soft items, e.g. underwear, and then pack around it. I have never had a problem and, sorry, I would not be caught dead wearing a canvas hat!
Same! There are also some great straw hats that are made to be packable. Wallaroo makes some great hats for traveling.

Totally agree. Most trustworthy shoes go on vacation with me. Newcomers have to prove they are worthy before I even get out of house in them. Blisters are the easiest way to ruin a vacation.

I love the concept of a capsule for summer holidays. I think the red bag you chose does not work with any of the outfits, though (and the proportions were off in the outfits with the bag being prominent). The color is too bright and does not harmonize with a lot of items in this capsule, apart from the striped shirt. Also not convinced by the clashing prints between shorts and dress, for example. This capsule could be more cohesive with a bag in a more subtle color, or straw bag. Anyway, love your videos.

I'm sorry but that red and white striped shirt just doesn't work with that diagonal-striped skirt, printed shorts, printed trousers, and B&W vest. Don't get me wrong, I love print-on-print pairings but that just doesn't work well, aesthetically. If you don't care about how look, then it's ok to go with those crazy pairings. Perhaps go with plain white linen shirt or a light chambray shirt instead - both can go with any of those printed tops or bottoms well.
I love your idea of using prints! So many travel capsule wardrobes only suggest solids. Except maybe the red striped shirt. I’d go for a finer pinstripe or solid. Now I must reevaluate my travel wardrobe for this season! Oh please do one for a wide range of temperature variations. I’ll be traveling to an area that might fluctuate from 30 - 80 degrees!

I use an unstructured backpack, to carry sweaters, water, maps and have my hands free.
Rather than a tote, I have always used a backpack (in leather) being a habit I started when my children were young and continue to do fast forward 50 years later as prefer the hands free option for miscellenous even now that I am older.

It all depends on the design, size, and rhythm of the print. The print you choose should correlate with your height, frame, clothing size, and curves. i cannot see how the striped long sleeve shirt matches any of those other prints. clashy clashy. however, YOU are the designer, so can you explain the principles of design that you are using that make you say these coordinate? i just absolutely do not see it. nor would i feel comfortable mixing anything like this. lol. however, i am about twice your size in height and weight so no. and i would look ridiculous at my age in most of those outfits. however...i do "get" your principles of how you start with the shoes as the anchor. do this all the time. you are fabulous!
I like prints and like the idea of having a summer capsule with prints. But I see what you mean. I don't see the cohesiveness in most of the print on print outfits, especially the dress with printed brown floral shorts(both are very busy and color clashing). I would choose either the top or the bottom with prints, then the other half solid. It looks much calmer and nicer.

This way, everyone can enjoy and replicate the outfits completely.
