- There may not be much left in this huge vacant structure towering over Kansas City's West Bottoms, but the adventure and the climb to the top is worth it.

Those holes in the floor were a man lift conveyor system. I applied for a job at weld wheels in the 80s it was fun to ride that
9:26, that is the elevator equipment room, looks like for the freight elevator. Seems like they only had a freight elevator.
Another great video! I actually explored this place back in July. Crazy twist, my great grandfather actually worked here in the early 1900's when the building was first built as a grocery warehouse. Both of the basements are super creepy!
That's awesome!
I live in KC now so if you ever want to do a collab or need some backup for the sketchy areas just let us know. We're always down for an adventure!
Ahhh yes, the West Bottoms...I remember there always being a fire or flooding happening here. Wish I'd been an explorer back in those days.
Love finding pillars and boilers at industrial sites; great video! Guess I'll have to add this one to the list for next time I get to KC.
Killer rooftop too, thanks for sharing!
I remember a used tire place here when I was a child
Another cool explore! The machines at the top @ 9:20 were the elevator motors and the controls for them, just ripped apart by scrappers.
Yeah, that was my guess too.
i come to this place all the time i love it so happy i found ur channel
Thanks!
Love this! Subscriber right here!!🙋♂️. Anytime I see these videos I think of the old warehouse used for filming the final climatic scene in Backdraft. That warehouse in Chicago was demolished in 1995. Also I think these would be awesome for photo shoots. Anyway, thanks for your awesome exploration!! Nicely put together video!!
I also always think of the cool shots these places could be used for.
Wow, that was truly epic indeed). I'm planning a trip to KC next month and definitely hitting up the west bottoms area when I'm there. Nice video and nice location.
Thanks, enjoy the trip 👍
Been all through out those factories all the rooftops spray painted stuff it was so fun
oh this is nice! I wonder every time in West Bottoms what those warehouses are like.
Back in the 90's I worked at The Beast haunted house just a few blocks south of this building. Before the show we would go explore the unused area of the building, which was John Deere Plow Company way back when. Across from The Beast was a building at 13th & Hickory I always wanted to go check out, but looked occupied, was the one with STOWE on the very top tower which can be seen on the right of the video at 9:49 . Great video!
I noticed a lot of the other giant warehouses in the area were also abandoned at one point, although by the time I filmed this video it looked like some renovation work was going on in some of them.
I’m in awe of this building. I would love to explore it but I’m scared to do in alone lol
It was last Weld wheels they had it all fixed up nice when they was there.
It had foundry/casting and machining operation there.
At 8:59 on the bottom left I worked on the roof with my dad and every time I looked up I aways wondered what was in there
I was just there yesterday!
The Last of Us used this for a scene!
Im gonna betcha those machines were the lift equipment for the elevators.
That’s the old weld racing wheel building I believe
That's right 👍
Do you have an address for this? Going to KC, would love to check it out.
Cheers
It's one of the many old buildings in the west bottoms, it towers over all the others, can't miss it 👍
Saint Louis Ave and Mulberry, cannot miss it.
0.13s song please?🙂
So that is actually an extended version of the song "Obsession" by Animotion. You won't find the guitar part used in this intro in the shortened radio version, but if you search for the extended version it'll be there.
