I went to this school from 2nd through 5th grade. If I'm correct on the years, from 1969 through 1972 for years now, every time I pass by this building I want so badly to go in and explore just to reminisce and reflect. Four years of my childhood was spent in that building, I love that you made this video so I could look in just one more time before they demolish it. So many memories came back as you filmed the basement, which is where the restroom and the library and lunchroom was. The auditorium with the little stage where we did our Christmas programs and we also used it as the gym room among other things. thank you for being brave enough to explore, it should not be against the law to explore property that has been abandoned.
That's awesome! I'm so glad you found it, I always love hearing from folks who had actual connections to these places!
Same
I did 1962-1963
4Th when left in 5th
I would pass by this school everyday school day since 4th grade. It's cool to finally see what's in there.
I went to Whittier Elementary in kindergarten and 1st grade. I remember watching them build the new school.
I went there toooooo!!! In 2nd to 3rd grade! I knew it was Whittier, I recognized the building & staircases!!
I used to live in that KCK neighborhood.. approximately 20 years ago. It used to be a decent area when I lived there... not the best..but not the worse.
From what I seen in your video the old neighborhood obviously took a turn for the worse since I moved out in 2001.
I live there, it's better than it looks
Man I always wanted to go and explore that abandoned school but never got the chance I did one up off 7th Street before they turned it into apartments wish I could have took a video of it and I explored a few other places glad I finally got to see the inside of this place
They've turned so many abandoned KC schools into apartments, I wish I'd gotten a shot at some of the others.
We have that same exact type of can crusher in our garage. It’s been here probably since the house was built in the 90s
It is lucky to not have run into any people yet, it's so suspenseful not knowing what's around every corner. The burned/melted glass windows were crazy looking. (I'm planning to pick up exploring again maybe in October, if I'm able to find any new locations down here I'll make sure to share them with you.)
That would be great! And good luck with your explorations too. I'm about to head back down to school in Springfield 👍
Lotsa abandoned places in KCMo n KCKs.
“The worst neighborhood” it’s actually a lot of proud people in that neighborhood if you’re going to be a jerk stay away!
I wasn't trying to diss anyone, I was referring to the crime rate in the KCK area. It can be dangerous at times so I've heard.
You sound mad lol he never dissed the people or their pride- everybody knows Quindaro is rough. Just be thankful he uploaded this historical content. You clicked on HIS video
Was this stanley elementary on metropolitan or is this the one over by 7th
They should have turned this building into a community center to do homework after school and to play game system's or pool something like that or if there was a gym they could have played ball maybe some of these kids would be off the streets
Hey, you strangely look like this guy that did a "Around KCMO" documentary in the 90s, just watched it yesterday, I know you're not him but you eerily look like him. Glad I found your page!
I'm gonna have to look that up now
Recently explored an abandoned school in KC that was extremely preserved, its called scarrit elementary. I wouldn't advise going though as it has alarms and I got caught
Dang, I had that one on my list too 😅
I don't know if you're from KC, so you might not know, but sir, please don't go in these places alone. This city is f**king wild. Folks wouldn't think twice in a building with no one else in it. It wouldn't mean a thing. I know it seems like "Kansas?!?! What the cows gonna do?" but no. Please believe, this city is wild.
What the cows gonna do? LMBO that's hilarious.
Be careful, there are gang bangers, drug dealers, crackheads, and all other sorts of sketchy people in that area.
Bruh been in there 5 times abandoned and before it was abandoned I remember in middle school I used to go there after school for tutoring last time I explored there was a shit ton of needles in the basement
Those apartments are rebuild now and are owned by a different property management now
Also there used to be a sit of stairs in the front
School was called EL CENTRAL INC
No it was called Sanford b ladd actually and it's over there by Linwood in Kansas City Missouri not Kansas.
@@raerae886 no this building is for sure in kck on 10th st lol
@@JoseDuran-jv4uu LMAO why it look the same as Sanford b ladd in KCMO that's abandoned 🤣 I'ma have to go check that out
Does it have ghosts? I’m a paranormal explorer
Not that I know of
We have the same school
You mad sus
That’s next to teh sunfresh
I live in Kansas City bro would you be down to link up and explore more stuff make more videos I’m down for sure lmk
I live right next to that school is next to whitter Elementary and it also next to tacos and wheels it also next to a middle school.
Yep, it's the old Whittier School.
It’s kinda cool that I live right next to it
@@kotarobokuto3084 where do I find on google maps
I go to that school and i still do and i live in kansas city and i go to whittier
I've lived in KCK all my life. Not every poor neighborhood is the hood. There's a lot of very good people here. Stay away from Quindaro. I grew up around there in the 50's when doctors lived in the houses along that street. It's not safe now. If you want to explore history go to Wheatley-Provident Hospital, the first Black-owned hospital in Kansas City operated from 1916 to 1972.......1826 Forest Ave, Kansas City, MO 64108 Not sure if it's still there but it should have become a museum for history.
I actually did go to Wheatley Provident, it was one of my first places I tried in KC back when I was a newby several years ago! I hear there's preservation attempts to try to save it.
Quindado isn't that bad... No worse than doing an urbex in kcmo.. Actually most of quindaro is abandoned now. Its sad. Im a quindaro boy, and would LOVE to see Quindaro State Bank on 18th looked in. Its been in the same condition since the 80s,all my life.
I've lived in kansas all my life and there are some really dangerous part's with high crime rate ...
For sure, I'm lucky not to have run into anyone dangerous in my time doing this.
Aye this is off 18th In kcmo by Arthur Bryant’s 😂
By 10th and central KCK
@@Trick_Turner this school is off 18th street I was on top of the school when I commented this
Is it? What about the apartments in the beginning
@@dudefromkc6182 go to Arthur Bryant’s attucks school is like down the road and across the street a block up
@@whitejeebus3389 it looks like that building on the thumbnail...I was confused by the apartments in the video ..that made me believe it probably was in KCK
Boy why are u in “crime-dotte”??? I know a lot of ppl who are homeless and truly warped over in Wyandotte?! Why? Just why?
why do u care lol are u homeless. u dont own wyandotte, becky.
@@grey6031 Heavy implications on bad neighborhood.....homeless typically look for abandoned property aka a squat, to sleep. I have been homeless. We live in an age that "hand to mouth" is more common than not!!!! Also pointing out that he has incredable bravery and This particular location concerns me.
ease up LKaren
