Damn they survived the elephants!! I thought the elephants would win but I was wrong!! It’s good to see that they survive everything but the companions and cataphracts!! Great video!!!
Expected Cataphracts to win since they can already do it from the front, expected the Elephants Pathfinding to undo them like it did with the Spartans, but happy that Companions achieved what their designed purpose is above all else, hammering a unit from behind until they break. God that last part sounded too much like a sex joke.
I wonder why people lost faith towards the Companions. I've been a Macedon main player. That's the best cavalry you can get as Macedon, why the hell would they route once they charge from behind lol. They are also supposed to be used for HAMMER & ANVIL. Not initiate from the front as they are SHOCK CAVALRY.
People compare them with the OP cataphracts and the less OP praetorian cav and legionary cav but these two serve different purpose. Companions are great at destroying skirmishers, fast, excellent charge, good attack especially with alt attack. The real stinker cav is nile cavalry.
could you do cataphracs vs. armores war elephants? cause I find it somewhat laughable that the war elephants lost against armored hoplites but if the elephants would win against the cataphracs it would be even more funnier 😂
Elephants and chariots should win with cycle charging. Either pull back or pull through. No ancient cavalry wanted or was designed to be in prolonged melee with heavy infantry.
You should use the alt attack with companions and late generals just like you do with caraphracts. Untill then the results of your test will not be fair and correct.
Thanks for the comment. Yea, agreed on that. However, as this is part of a series, and it was not used at the first episodes of the series... But agreed, the results would be more accurate :)

Thank You! I have to admit that their performance was surprisingly good :)
Elephants plowing through the line was their own undoing, should've keep it slow guys, those metal men have pointy sticks
Agreed on that :) Thanks for the comment.
I am suprised that they beat elephants the rest went as expected.
Yea, I guess the Eles' mistake was to push through :) Thanks for the comment.
Cheers to everyone who called it! (raises glass)
:) Thanks for the comment.
OMG cataphracts are insane.
Indeed :) Thanks for the comment.
I don't think I've ever seen a test be great and ass-backwards at the same time.
Haha :D Indeed. Thanks for the comment.
How is the armoured general unit card holding his spear when his hands are busy with the sword and horse rein 😅
Must be some funky Mount and Blade...
That is one of the good questions to which we may never get a proper answer :) Thanks for the comment.

Yea, Companions did rather well. Thanks for the comment. :)

Thanks for the comment. Agreed on that. I guess one of the main reasons was that the beat them when they charged from the rear :)

My presumption was after impact they would be able to turn around.. xD oops
:D Thanks for the comment.

I wonder if the depth of the phallanx was different, would the results be the same?
Thanks for the comment. I think not, as less cav would hit them and the front ranks would be spared :)

COMPANIONS!
Why did my faith falter now? 😂
Well, their performance has not been top notch in this test :) Thanks for the comment.
