Platinumed the PS4 version, so would be nice to just get that upgrade via DLC. I probably won't buy it again. The added content doesn't reflect the full price if you already own it on PS4.
I have the original, but I stopped about 5 hours in because I couldn't stand the OST (which is ironic as i make JRPG soundfont videos). I'm actually glad I did now, as it means I'll get to finish it with the full, grand score.

For price it was $40 on steam. Unknown on PS4 or anything else but if $40 is still a decent price. Personally excited to play the game again but on steam for small streams since I also didn't get the OG on steam either
damn im curently playing dq xi on the ps4. i had the choise of picking the definitive edition on the switch at full price and downgrade visual or the cheaper standart version on ps4 with better graphics i went fot the ps4. if i would have known i wouldhave waited but wathever ill keep playing the standart edition on ps4. btw its my first dq game, its not really what i expected in terms of side quests, i mean you get very few compared to other rpgs. the game is kind of linear. im not complaining thou the main story is very entertaining and better this way than boring fetch side quests
The new Definitive Edition is a straight port of the Switch version, including graphical downgrade, so if that was your biggest hurdle, then you're all good with the vanilla release. Also, the game is HUGE. Keep playing, there's a lot going on, including a ridiculous post game that's like a third of the story.
Upgrade I think no chance. Square enix has physical preorder at 40. Hoping that be the case. Definitely want to buy for my ps4 though I have standard version . The music think ok but I am interested in new story specific quests. Besides one game I always have fun playing except for the dumb 5th trial thing which I will never ever do again

It's great that DQ11S is coming to all the platforms, but I just bought 11S on Switch a week ago, and picked Switch over PC specifically for the extra content and QoL changes. Knowing that the extra content is going to make its way to my platform of choice (PC) leaves me wondering if I should just keep playing the Switch version, or hold off and wait for PC.
I don’t know if you know this already but the game is a port of the switch version itself. Probably best to keep the switch versions mainly for the portability of it I say

The only thing that Annoys me is that the graphics are going to look worse compared to the original because it was ported from the switch, it's doubley annoying because I have been waiting for the definitive edition to come out only to find it will have worse graphics than the vanilla version
The only problem is the rumors that it'll have the same graphics as the Switch version, which was one of the most disappointing things about the Switch version imo. It lost a LOT of the luster that the PC and PS4 versions had graphically, as well as removing the First Person Zoom feature which I LOVED! I will not be buying it if it doesn't have the graphics of the PS4 version and if they don't leave the First Person Zoom feature intact like they should/

I've heard mumblings that the S version coming to PS4 and Xbox is just a straight up port of the Switch version with it's graphics. I hope this isn't true as I'd love to play this on Xbox on Game Pass

And the soundtrack was fine man. I never had any problem with the original soundtrack not being Orchestrated. Sounded fine.

I feel like DQ7 and 8 are inevitable sense they where on the 3DS and they seem to be bringing many games from the system over to the switch.
