Wow ! Can't think you could get a better 2nd opinion on fine tuning that engine. TOO's infinite patience meets with Kodibass' unfathomable experience. Accept and share my respects with Mr Roberson but most importantly, you both take care and be merry ! 🇲🇶
Sounds like she’s running good now. Kodi and yourself should grab a sharpie and autograph that motor for the next owner. It would be a special edition!
I'm baack! Haven't been on the net since I inquired about you missing releases after the storm-ol' used up body problems. 1st channel I've gone to on YT, now to binge watch and catch up tomorrow. Fun tweaking hp out of these ol' gals huh.
The 8hp has a different reed valve configuration and ports. I also thought the post-1983 6hp was a 7.5 but rated at the propeller instead of the crank? I have the same metallic clank at idle that your motor does and believe that it may be either a loose magnet on the stator or the bottom crank bearing going out. Pretty sure that neither are fatal. The bottom bearing could be causing an air leak if it is bad enough
I once knew a guy who on Newyears Eve run his car into a ditch, him and his 4 buddies were able to push it out and continue down the road a few miles before smelling gas, so he stopped and crawed under the car and lit his cigarette lighter and let me say that the aftermath wasn't very pretty, it made Freddy Kruger look like Miss Universe. The loss of all facial features including nose, lips, eye lids, 1/2 of the hair line, ears, both hands to the wrists, and 2/3 of his neck and chest skin was only the injuries on the outside, on the inside was the mouth, tongue, throat, lungs and stomach. Yes Alcohol was Involved. But whats more Amazing is this guy lived for almost 25 years after having many many surgeries but still looking like somthing right out of a Horror movie right up to the day he passed .
You don't happen to have a link to the original and larger jet do you? (Check your line voltage and frequency as your power company will reimburse you if less than 110VAC @ 60 Hz for partial payment on your Microwave)
Hey. Thanks for tuning in. Original was a 32d, I put in a 37 and swapped to the older style carb. You can probably find what you're looking for and more on marineengine.com. Any outboard and parts. Thanks again !
Very first thing I look for when buying a used outboard is good even compression across all cylinders. No matter the brand or how good it may run if it has low compression on one or more cylinders that’s a good indication of abnormal wear due to component failure. Also good indication it’s going to get real expensive real soon. Hope this helps.
I wish i knew how to send you pictures I have 5-4hp all have straight lencage I have one scamatic for a 6hp the 6hp has a bend in the linkage LABELED #31

All of the 4hp have a spring on the butterfly to force the butterfly to slam the roller cam back all the way

What is the best outboard to go with if you buy second hand outboard

OMC! Thanks for tuning in!
Smoke coming up through the lower cowling.
Thanks for tuning in. Hope not! I'll have to put the hood on it, run it and see if it chokes out. Thanks again & Stay tuned !
Mix and match carb jets. Bump up the hp! Does that affect the amount of fuel the motor consumes?
A little ! Thanks for tuning in!
hi.
you are instaling 9.9 carb on 6/8 hp block
No I'm installing a 9.9 carb on a 6/7.5. Thanks for tuning in!
I wish i knew how to send you pictures I have 5-4hp all have straight lencage I have one scamatic for a 6hp the 6hp has a bend in the linkage LABELED #31
