I am training for a half marathon. Today was a long run and this stretch was pure bliss! I did it after the run, went about my day, and realized I'm still sore and tight, so I did it again. Thank you for these videos, Ash!

I always pay attention to what Ash said. Today I like the mindset of recovery. I know post run stretches are important but seldom think about the recovery aspect. I now feel recovered and recharged, both my legs and my mind. Ready for a week’s work!😊

Good stuff! I had that mind the other day on my long run, my chimp brain was saying stay in and don’t go but then I felt so much better for doing it. Well done for staying consistent even when motivation is challenged 🙌🏻😊

My first run since been away with work, when I haven't ran for a few days it always makes me extra appreciate the fact that I can run.💕 Thanks for this stretch post run Ash, my body needed it as i was stiff as board! 😂🏃🏻♀️💖
Well said Flo. Gratitude is so important. I always appreciate the fact that my body is able bodied and I can run trails and challenging events. I remind myself of Rob Burrow when he said “don’t waste a moment” I watched the sun coming through the trees on my run yesterday and was so grateful for that moment. 😊❤️

Thank you, Ash. Another good one. My first ever running injury (after two and a half years running) was my left IT band, so always pleased to find new ways to look after it. Slightly faster 8.2k than recently, but a big drop in Strava's relative effort, and I'm sure your warm ups and post run stretches contributed to that.

Thanks for the vid. I've done a quick stretch after 20K long run, but felt like I still need more stretch after taking shower. Then I followed along this one. It helps make me less tired and sore everywhere.

Thanks Natalie. Nasal breathing is the most efficient and natural way to breathe. We get a gas exchange from nasal breathing that means we take up more oxygen into the blood. Mouth breathing leads to imbalance in gases and usually breathing at a faster rate. There are many other benefits. Have a look at James Nestor book Breathe and Patrick McKeowns Oxygen Advantage if this interests you 😊
Hi Ash. Can I ask why do you always say that we shouldn't stretch the sciatic nerve on the back of knee? Thanks for your videos x
Over-stretching or aggressive stretching of that area can potentially exacerbate any condition or issue on the horizon, leading to further discomfort, pain, and even nerve damage. Hope this helps 👍🏻
