Bro…it’s all about running Bassline Generator or Quad Note into Pattern Mutator! Thats when the madness begins. Algoritm is a savage beast once you spend some time with it. Love seeing your willingness to jump back into the Reason environment. Awesome video!
This gave me so much inspiration. Plus since I was at work it sounded menacing in car then hearing it back on the phone got lost in translation. So this definitely showed me what to expect if I don’t check my mixes in a variety of situations. Major lesson learned! Thanks Osc!
Time to thank you for your inspiring videos, Oscar. 14:05 moving notes down 1 oct: A faster way could be to select the notes, and type "-12" in the note textbox.
This is pretty useful. I used to make a lot of Happy Hardcore and Trance with reason back in the day. Sometimes I still produce EDM, but mostly psychedelic trance!
I downloaded a free Combinator patch about 15 years ago and it's been used in every Techno, Hardhpuse, Trance and what ever else has a repeating kick drum beat.
Do you, by any chance, remember the name of this combinator patch ? Very interested in decent kicks inside Reason (besides the Redrum Techno kit 3 kick 😉)
very good, thanks, but if i can say my opinion, the synth is out of bpm and doesnt sounds good like that, it could even confuse playing a track like this... Ive resalised it when at the end you play the whole track
@Oscar - you could have used the Kick kong pad gate out trigger to trigger the rumble kick pad instead of needing to have duplicate sequencer tracks. Plus using one Kong and the individual outputs to separate them would have saved on devices too.
Why do you throw effects under the instrument? Wouldn't it be better to throw them into the tool at the top? You can hide them there and press bypass if you want to listen to the intsrument without them.
Hey Oscar I noticed that you haven’t updated the bassline generator it now has an optional bank B voor both on en off beats. Some and most of the reason studios rack extensions require you to buy the upgrade in the store (for free) and then sync your rack extensions it’s a bit of a hassle sadly. Always love to see your tutorials!
i have reason 12 and i don't have rumbles generator, and doesn't seem to be in reason companion either.. does anyone know how i can aquire this vst... thanks
Hey Adam. That's a combinator patch Oscar made. On the description there's this link to download patches from this vid, I imagine that rumble patch is also available there?
Having seen many of Oscar's and RS in-house videos, this one seems like content created for the sake of creating content. Like watching someone tread water for 23 minutes. Much respect to Oscar and the Underdog videos as they're usually pretty informative and useful, this one just seems like it was mailed in.
Nice! One question though - why you're using right-click menus to add devices, rather than the browser? It's very good nowadays, with a proper search just like in Ableton.
For the kick drum, you could use Redrum, reset device, choose your first kick sample, press "tab" to flip the rack, then run a gate out cable from the first kick into the second gate in, with the copy of your kick to trigger both at the same time. Saves time EQ'ing
Organization? LMAO! I have used Reason since Record was released and I have not even created a template. As close as I get to organization is to create every instrument in a combinator. (:
Wow, I'm using Reason for years now and I still learned a ton here!
maybe the 3rd or 4th time I\m watching this video in over a year.
underdog is for me the best to teach so far.
Big shout. thank you.

Quad Note Gen is vastly overlooked.
Yes, it really does create some of the most beautiful sounds.
everyone has an own style but Oscar definetely show us that t the ORDER of the pieces is primordial
I can't stress enough how much I like your focus on moving forward and not overthinking.
Reason is one of the most underrated DAWs on the market. I've used many and i always come back to Reason. Love it. Nice track 👣 👌
thank you very much :: quality works!!

Ctrl-Shift-Down also works 😉
@@alexkissmusic Oh - lifehack, thank you! :)

Amazing as always!
🎉 good Reason vid. Gonna check the Spotify riffs. 💟
Great video. Many thanks :-)
Great one Oscar! Do you have the drum sequencer player? Works good on a kong.
Good stuff Oscar
Great video, very good teacher 😃🖖

Thanks a lot!!!
I finally bought Reason 13 for the black friday !
How much you paid? Got it in xmas sale for 225
Absolutely brilliant lesson. No bull. Can’t wait to try these tips. Are these plug-ins (rumble) on Readon Shop?
Hi there, does anyone have an updated link to the combinator patch? The Dropbox is just a 404 now :( Please help?
reasonstudios.com/blog/oscar-verlinden-free-techno-combinators-ig-take-over-tutorial-collection/
can you send me a new link to download your techno patches? I don't see it on the reason site no more . Thanks in advance
I dont know if this is possible in Reason, but why not make visual folders that can be named and color coordinated in the rack?
What kind of sound card do you use?
My hint for organisation? Use three monitors.left rack, middle sequencer, right mixer
Let’s make the drums even “Rougher and Grosser”😂 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I could have become a doctor.
I used Reason 1 to Reason 4. After a while, I mean today, I checked and, I can not believe, Reason 13 exists. So what's new comparing to v4?

? What do xou mean
To bad this combinator is not available anymore, otherwise great video
Can we please get a piano roll update?

I consider also use reason.... since you have Reason + you allow to get Reason as VTS until I found this...man, I been paying without knowing!
I have used Reason for nearly 2 decades now.
i have reason 12 and i don't have rumbles generator, and doesn't seem to be in reason companion either.. does anyone know how i can aquire this vst... thanks

I agree. I fell sleep watching it last night in my studio chair fr.
Would love to hear this with a compressor on the master, this would slap 200% more

Oscar is awesome, but clearly he either needs to keep his studio a little warmer, or stop dating vampires. (jk, the scarf looks comfy)

You don’t have to be precised?!!!! Good luck signing with Anjuna or another record label! 😅
