As an AC Vet who's been playing since Project Phantasma back on the PS1, I can tell you here & now that 6 is easily the best place to get started. It's probably the most "Everyone Friendly" entry in the series, with For Answer being a close second. But if you truly want to feel pain, the most challenging title is probably either The Last Raven, or Nexus. Regardless, good to see you here. Thorium Rain, callsign Relic will always be over the next hill to provide Artillery Support.
Nexus is easier than the other ps2 counterparts i think since you can use Human + skills from the start. Last raven though was probably made with the idea you would import saves from previous titles because some missions seems impossible with starter stuff
Kind of, not sure what the later parts look like but I imagine you could look something similar. I did see a squidward build because you can make his face using the emblem creator
I've played the series since the PS2 but never really sunk my teeth into it till 6. Only ever played 1v1's with my cousin but my fav memory always was us creating our own AC's before we duked it out on the different maps

The hanger comes with an extensive photo mode, take pictures from the gantry's and the floor to get the sense of scale. You can also use it in game to get sick screenshots of your mech mid combat.

That's a loud statement. Emblems - maybe, but you could customize your mechs in Front Mission back in 1995. I'm sure it wasn't the only game to have that, but it's the one I've actually played.
finally from software actually solve the problem of being anxious about spending an hour customizing your character without worrying if your gonna wear a helmet for the rest of the game .
It's always been the need for speed underground of MECH games, 95% of gameplay is customizing and fine tuning , 5% battles , and I wouldn't change a thing. Can't wait to try 6
Recently made a full Risk of Rain 2 Mercenary, pure swords too and armour details, plugs on the back of helm, and almost all decal slots used. Here's two tricks: 1. Grouping at least two rotated shapes in a Decal image lets you stretch them differently than you normally can: most noticible on the 90 degree triangles. Use that for new (although more shape slot demanding) shapes. 2. You can use less AC Decal space (40 max decals) and add more detail to certain areas by using a already detailed Decal. One Decal can be worth 128 shapes, more than three times the 40 decal limit on AC parts. Only drawback is stretching will blur pixels, an artifacting problem different to the imprecise pixel issue of stretching any Decal you use on the AC.
I spent ten hours making my personal emblem, it is made of 137 separate pieces and depicts the traditional Graham Clan crest of a Sea Eagle fucking up an English Stork. Above is a crowned helm, below a scroll which reads “Ne Ouble,” or never forget.
I’ve spent massive hours on emblems and designs, even made what I call “White Glint MkIII. I swear if White Glint was to come back, mine is what the mech would look like lol
I have a 6 piece decal of AllMind in a Bikini like a classic Itasha pinup vinyl decal. 6. Seperate. Pieces. You have to align all of them. It's glorious.
@@riven5677 I might change it but I mainly used the menlander set. Some the area like his legs will need decals to stay as accurate as you can but you can change it yourself but definitely use the menlander head and core
1 year i got 4 games for christmas. Lotr the third age. Syphon filter 3. Armoured core 4 and NBA street. I had a blast. Loved the grasshopper legs and the sholder missiles that go straight up, split into 8 smaller ones and rain down upon the targets. The other games were great too.
Oh and yes I did debt secret for the extras and found the better gear in the lvls. I never did finish the arena though. Made top 10 but last few were overpowered.

The video sounds like this is the first AC experience. Still remember kid me making a fucking peanut butter jar with a knife in it for the logo in AC2.
I dived into armored core with 4 answer and let me tell you I’m never leaving rubicon. For reference I used to buy tips and tricks magazines for gaming and they had a section in the back for tournaments for the old school armored core games with builds etc I’m that old.
You can put 40 decals on top of your paint job on every limb to add things like custom stripes and other patterns. You can THEN layer on additional weathering decals to make them look like they're not just slapped on top. Customisation can get pretty wild.
emblem creation has been a thing in armored core since THE FIRST GAME! which was on PS1! so it actually did emblem creation BEFORE call of duty even EXISTED
I leaned hard into the whole "raven" thing, ngl. Named my AC nevermore like some edgelord, gave it a black paintjob with red lighting. Edgy as hell, but i felt like it fit raven.
The best part If this game was from ubisoft or EA you would've to pay to get more customization option But no,they just decided to give the players the full personalization free
I just got done with Armored Core 1 and Master of Arena. Trying to get armored core 2 to work on any emulator. As a souls player, I understand the long process of customization.

During the first four hours of this game I only completed the first mission, the rest of the first four hours were me just making a bunch of emblems.

My greatest achievement in armored core isn't beating all the bosses and the arena fights, it is making my own Megas XLR looking mech
