    Among the sticks shown I would prefer the ones made from citrus trees because they are very durable. Kamagong is just too brittle and rattan sticks can be easily destroyed. Another alternate option would be sticks made from coffee branches.

    • @711garimot
      @711garimot  Год назад +3

      I agreed, but I will use any stick, we learn how to control our strikes base on the quality of the weapons, we learn how to adjust not only to weapons quality, even the poor quality stick. Specially we don’t know which stick will be available, during the assaults. If I do have a choice, I will used Bahi, coffe, citrus, guava etc, other hard woods. Also to take Note: rattan is one of the weapon of choice of the Eskrima because it’s resilient, can absorb an strike that less vibration to your hands, that cause of shivering your hand that can lead to lost control of the weapons. Happy training, thank you.

      @@711garimot I agree you can't always choose the quality of the sticks that you use. When you're in a sudden confrontation sometimes the sticks can be short or crooked. Though for practice we prefer coffee sticks since rattan is not that durable.

    Guro magandang gabi po. Can you make a training video on a solo kamagong stick? For self defense and not for competition. I am currently the only one in my area using a solo kamagong for self defense and as such I have no other reference for advanced drills since most experts use a rattan or a bladed weapon for self defense drills. Thank you.
    Btw, I like the statue of Mama Mary you have in your background 😃 God bless po guro!

    I have a kamagong pair and one has a crack. I'm not sure if I should cut it down for Serrada.

    • @711garimot
      @711garimot  3 года назад +2

      Don't cut it, filled them with Wood Glue, if is too big the crack, mix little glue with saw dust, or made wood dust - by sanding one piece of wood and collect the dust, you can put the glue first to the crack, springkle the dust on top, then press so the dust can married to the glue, filled it then wait till the glue is dried and sanding the excess wood and dust..

    • @SheffieldAbella
      @SheffieldAbella 3 года назад +1

      @@711garimot Right now it is just held with tape. The knot is where the crack is and it is almost the the entire thickness of the stick. There isn't enough space to put glue or epoxy. I put tape around so that the knot crack is in my hand so that it won't receive impact. ruclips.net/video/EW13BL0idGg/видео.html

    Guro I use rattan for training and hard wood sticks rattan can take more abuse hardwood can break but if you smash hard wood against iron pole brick telephone pole of course they can break but for self defense hard wood I chose one must have power and do damage to stop opponent guro just a opinion thank you
