I'm a HUGE recent fan of Kali! I just found your channel and subscribed. I own about 5 filipino made blades, and really want to get educated on Kali. Thanks!
I really loved that transition to just the hands! That felt really good to incorporate this and to see how it works even with just the fists. Thank you Paul for another great video!
I appreciate that you've spent a lot of time training and honing your skills. The movements are very fluid and you can develop much energy. There would be one thing that would be helpful. And that is knowing what part of the body the stick or knife or whatever the tool is Oh, What It Is striking. Otherwise good instruction, thank you for sharing. Kung Fu San Soo Master Ken
Mahalo Nui Loa Guro, folk’s don’t realize the Riches you share for free, very few are teaching the community to stay strong, is you know “we the people are the last Homefront security “.
if you train with a partner, a sifu of mine gave me that tip, train with white shirt and edding. so you see where you cut. maybe a idea for beginners like me^^
Yes my mom practices ninjutsu and pops is a policeman. Everytime they fight Mom effortlessly cuts pops bullets in half usinfg only a broom stick. CAN YOU IMAGINE??!!!!
Let s try to be clever?? long range there is no way unless the shooter is totally useless hahahah!!! Short range you have to analyze the variables: is that gun still in the belt maybe without the bullet in the chamber? or is it in the hands of the guy pointing at you armed and ready? How far is it from you and how quick can you be to close distance and to land a sequence of strikes on that poor hand, that you have literally to shatter in pieces, meanwhile keeping your ass out of the shooting line? You need luck, timing, speed and all you can think of to get out of a situation with such disadvantage...... Anyhow don t forget that you can use blades and swords too they work pretty much in the same way, they differ a bit of course depending from the kind of blade as well......Plenty of videos in this channel have a nice day
Great video. I haven't touched the sticks for a year or so, and this just popped up in my feed. 2023 may be the Year of Kali for me. A small question... my sifu taught me to keep my non-striking hand close to my body, or guarding my throat at all times. I noticed you do this with your right hand (striking with your left) but when you strike with your right hand, your left moves a lot. Is there an intent or technique behind this? Genuinely curious. Thanks for the great channel! Lots of great videos and training tips. Cheers
Thanks you! No specific intent. Just moving around having fun with the movements to keep this video very beginner friendly. Later on the hands are more specific.
Outdated style. Who attacks u w sticks here in NA? Who walks around carrying sticks?? Lots of practice for a style that almost never get used. Also there r more effective ways to use d hands than d SEA one size fits all approach.
This isn't solely for street fighting. It's also for competitions. Besides, you may not carry a stick, but you could be carrying the knife, you could be carrying literally anything that even remotely resembles said stick as well
This is great stuff. I've done a bit of karate and stuff and a lot of LARPing and this all makes so much straight forward sense.

@@stevelayton2191 I don't do it. But what u said doesn't negate its uselessness, does it???
@@aidenfisher5679 What makes you think he is solely training for self defense? You come off as completely unhinged.
