First Season was good, but Second Season is excelent. The music and story were fantastic (in the case of the OST, i would say it was just a little better than the first OST, because it was great as well), even the animation and character desing became better in this season. One of the best animes i've watched.
This may be an older comment, but if you haven't played the VNs in the past...10 months, I suggest you do. Especially with the 07th Mod that allows you to play/read them as close to the original release as possible. If you think the plot, characters, and music were great in the anime, you NEED to experience the VNs, they're on an entirely different level, and I watched the anime first.

Just finished watching all the OG Higurashi series recently. Higurashi no Naku koro ni was my favorite anime, but Kai is a whole new level for me, it's a very sad story, cruel and yet it's very beautiful. Kai definitely one of the best anime I've ever seen, I wish I could watch it like the first time again!

This is my number 1 anime and will always be. Everything was on point for me the music ,story , and characters ugh such a good anime. the place they based this show on is real and I plan on goin there 1 day:) just hope this remake they coming out is good thanks for the upload

Man, I love Naraku no Hana so much. It encapsulates what Rika is going through so well in my opinion and it's just a song that I can listen to on repeat nonstop Haha. The rest of the OST is excellent too and is one my personal favorites among all of the anime that I've watched. Pretty sure this anime will never get old for me and will probably always be one of, if not my favorite anime of all time.

Kai's music is sadder it has me focus on the beautiful parts of the picture but it makes me sad rather than scared or happy

The Higurashi VN is better than the anime in every conceivable way except for the OST. Kenji Kawai really just struck gold with Higurashi and his themes are just irreplaceable in my mind.

did you watch second season? the series was mystery scifi, disguised as a horror, the horror was to grab your attention (the questions arc) then get your answers during the second season

It's such a good series. Umineko is a really good one too, it's made by the same people and has the Questions and Answers arcs format, so it's really long. Try that out if you haven't! One of the characters in it might remind you of someone...

Hello, anybody knows what is the song that plays at the last episode (24th) of the season where hanyuu takes the bullet for everyone ?
does anyone know the ost in higurashi no kokoro ni kai ep 1, when they were showing the flashbacks of everyone's happy moments at around 21:33 in the episode

i actually misspelled it in the video with "alternative version" :-(
this means "michishirube". thats weird because for the season 1 OST they named the normale version of this song "michishirube", and for the season 2 OST instead of naming it "michishirube piano ver." they translated the word into english and called it "a road home piano ver."

@@ShinkuRED you actually only have to buy a specific blu ray from season 1 and another one from season 2 to have all 4 CDs with the soundtracks. which is still almost 100€
