Bought my banshee new 2006. Only problem I ever had was K&N paper filters. I run 2 stage uni pod filters and I just made the 1st video on how I clean and then the 2nd video on how I oil them and what oil I use and the clamps I use for the PWK 35's and the part number for the pods I use. I don't have any problems with fine dust getting through my filters.

Ive been using "no-toil" on my ktm filters and intake has been spotless. It doesnt get ridden under pleasant conditions.

I’ve bin runnin the k and n filter on the Kingquad for awhile and I’m pretty impressed with it. Grease the top and bottom seals and haven’t had any dust suckin problems yet. my old uni I had simular dust issues you had. I might try the uni pre filter stuffed in the air intake hole I think that’s a genius idea and would work better then the pool sock I’ve bin using for now.

I went to FCI filters with outwears and just soak them in the kn recharge oil, i ride in very dusty conditions, that powder dirt crap and mine has been good ever since the switch...dirt seemed to seep thru where the plastics met the filter on my kn filter when i used it, prob could run a bead of glue around it, i imagine same for uni

It happens to my wife’s warrior I actually spray the filter oil on my finger and rub it inside the intake so it sticks to that and not get into the motor as much

I run an oem banshee filter and cage with lucas red and tacky around the mounting points and maxima fft soaked to the point of dripping. I haven't noticed any dirt getting by but I also don't ride in the kind of dust.

Try a TwinAir. Or just put a silicon bead where the rubber intake is welded, not sure if that's possible. Also consider a pre-filter? The intake on the honda's have a baffle chambe similar to the R also for consideration I believe put some pantyhose on that. It's not the worst I have seen. Always run the lid on the airbox too.
