Also there is another usa strategy where you withdraw from the naval treaties and get japan to declare war on you. Then you release all your colonies (puerto rico, hawaii and marshall islands) as puppets to stop france and the UK from declaring war. Then you core alaska which makes attu island a core, and then japan will naval invade. Since you've lost core territory you can activate the homeland defence emergency act which removes the depression, gives you extensive conscription and war economy. This can be done in 1936, then you just have to invade japan.
If you want to defeat Japan early as the US, you can abuse the naval treaties to have them declare war on you in like 1936. I don't know if it still works tho.
@@equilintogo5378 just tested and neither Japan nor Italy gets the wargoal but France and the UK still does. So you can still gets rid of the Great depression in 1936 and cap France in early 1937 but you have to wait until Japan declares on China to invade them
The reason why those 4 divisions didnt go in the albania strat is because theyre going to a port. When there is a war, you can naval invade your allies or in countrues with military access and it is considered transferring troops. Now obv when you do this normally, the troops go from port to port, and so when the military accessed country then goes to war with you, the troops that were "transferring" to the port via naval invasion say "oh this is an enemy, i cant go there" and go back. Meanwhile the troops "transferring" via naval invasion to a non-port dont have this gane rule applied to them and so they just go and go and go Tl:DR, just set the landing of all your troops around the port and not on it for them to not retreat
Not sure if Paradox patched it, but there is a cheesy way to naval invade the UK as Italy. During the Ethiopia war, start mining the three sea zones around the isles and wait until they are at the max to finish the war. In every game I tried this, the AI didn’t bother to clear the mines since they are at peace and it makes opposing the royal navy much easier. Edit: The ability to mine should apply to any sea zone while you are at war, so you could do this to the US or Japan if you wanted to invade them as well.
Here's an odd trick I found out recently but didn't test it's extent; You can delete missiles from missile bases, and respawn them in Airbases to be used, cause they go to stockpile. This way you can 1. Stockpile missiles 2. Fire missiles from closer airfields 3. (untested yet) Cause they're now Strat bombers from the AF, they *should* be able to drop nukes
When I play total conversion mods I usually ask around to see if they have the equivalent of France to be paradropped to, that will making smaller nations so much easier...
I did the mil-access trick by accident the first time I invaded the UK I was waiting to join the war because I wans't ready when I saw my troops in the middle of the North Sea
If you do policy of collective security you can get military access through all the major democracies, then you can naval invede using the naval invasion glitch (naval invade, launch the invasion before declaring war next to a port, and then declare as theyre about to land)
One "strat" I'd like to say I invented is to do an early war with the soviets as japan over the sakhalin island and do a naval invasion of leningrad. You could probably do a naval invasion from italy but I sent my invasion all the way from hiroshima. It took me 5 tries because the soviets always have garrisons in leningrad with a level 3 coastal fort but if you manage to build a port in one of the other provinces you can win easily in 1938 with a few collabs and capturing vladivostok
you can also invade USA as japan, by naval invading into alaska, building a port, then naval invading the northwest. incredibly scuffed however, and you will lose half your destroyers and convoys
Put half of your destroyers on convoy escort around japan and ypu wont lose a single convoy actually. The US usually keeps a decent chunk of their navy in the atlantic so the japanese starting navy on strike force can beat anything they try to use
One thing that I found and I am not sure if it still works is you can plan a 2 part naval invasion if you have an ally with military access. Plan the first invasion from home to an allied port, second invasion from that port to the enemy. Assign all units to the second invasion and launch when ready.
doesnt work anymore. you need divisions assigned to plan the invasion. in old versions that doesnt care if there are divisions on naval landing planing, but in newer versions it does....
@@stefangroh2354 are you sure? I double checked with a friend we had a Co-op game in march where we used it to naval invade the US from mil access and docking rights in Venezuela as Germany.
As the great nation of Tannu Tuva, you can start WW2 by declaring war on Poland and dragging the Soviets in Then declare war on Germany, and let them get conquered too The great nation of Tannu Tuva decides WW2 Then you could get membership in the USSR, and get annexed, or... Let the USSR go to war with youc and the allies, hold on long enough, then either play as an exiled government, or continue to defend Eventually, you get enough war score by the time the war ends, to take a bit of the soviet union
I've seen someone use the military access naval invasion before. I can't remember who it was, but I think it was either HatlessSpider or m3an. I believe you don't even need naval supremacy for it to work and you can declare war the moment before they land. I don't know why your 4 divisions returned to the base you planned from. It might have something to do with the invasion itself not being fully planned before hitting launch but that's just a hypothesis and not one I've tested.
Ive been having issues with the Naval landings as well. in which, I have the supremacy, like shown at 4:42, but then only a fraction of my entire force goes for the landing, and not the entire x amount of divisions I have at the time. For instance, I invade with 24 divs, I separate them by 10, and split them off to attack multiple fronts. But for whatever reason, even tho I have the convoys and supremacy, my entire army sometimes all doesn't go at one time. Idk what is up with that.
Man, seeing the USSR and the USA fighting like this is really making me wish for a Cold War grand strategy game by Paradox. Having the game mostly revolve around economy, proxy wars, spies and sabotage instead of straight up hot warfare sounds like an interesting change of pace. The start date could be 1945 ending in 2000. There's so much interesting stuff you can do there. The Space Race, the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Cuba, messing around in Africa, etc...
That island does exist Diomede Islands they're not that big and the fun part is in the winter the water around them freezes so technically you can get to Russia from the US on foot.
I tried multiple times last night with USSR. Could not get naval supremacy. Maybe luck is involved. Did avoid the whole Germany USSR war by wardeccing Germany in 38 (need to speedrun a navy) and taking Konigsberg. When germany take Memel, seemingly half their army teleports there and they get annihilated. They didnt go in on poland like i hoped but NL instead. Over by 40. I reckon theres a lot of scope to cheese it edit: there is. Take Denmark early.
How did you get enough air supremacy and expensive asf transport planes as Austria to invade France??? Don't you need like 50 support planes for 1 division? No way you'd get that by normal means before France joins Britain
