I personally hate it. It's overly complicated and it takes forever once you are finished. Instead of packing it yourself - which takes a minute or maybe two - you send it off to the ether so someone else can pack it before sending it across the store AGAIN. Also, the amount of plastic used is just ridiculous. Why pack shit in so much plastic when it gets opened and thrown away 2 minutes later either way?
Sunset Nebula I’m going to guess majority of the packaging is to prevent spills and messes. The store does look pretty freaking clean for being a grocery store.
Alex Undiscovery I understand the comment completely if youre asian your confusion with how much westerns care about it is understandable but thats part of the problem. Us Asians are so confused on why its so bad, we find it "innovative" or "handy" WHICH SHOULDNT be the mindset. As for your question, watch the video again. The food is literally served in plastic along with everything else, my advice for you is to keep an eye to those stuff because we just go on our merry way sometimes without even noticing until someone points it out.
Alex Undiscovery I’m from California, therefore plastic is one of my main trigger points lol. It never fully disintegrates or have the best recycle life. In this video: fruits, vegetables and single meals have plastic surrounding them. Just for a one time use then landfill. I’ve never been to Asia, so I don’t want to fully bash them, because here in the United States we use a TON of unnecessary plastic. However, we all live on this beautiful planet together and no matter our country or race. We together need to step back from using hella plastic.
@@mosesramos5594 That's the difference between Singapore and you yanks. The majority of wastes in Singapore are recycled, disposed of for electric power plant. None of those are throwing over to the sea. This is a country with drinkable recycled and desalinated water processed from the sea. Unlike Californian who can't even get clean water during the drought, even though it sits right next to the ocean.
To be honest, this is a market that's for the rich and wants to spend their time in it and not to be in a hurry. There are different types of markets and this is of those for leisure purposes.
What people need to realise is that this isn’t a replacement for a normal supermarket, it’s an alternative that has some different elements that are non-traditional 🤷🏼♀️
This may not be practical but its a good start. Maybe in a certain future, it will be better and faster. Fun fact: People back in the late 1800s thought replacing horses with mechanical cars is ridiculous and a joke but boy they were wrong. So give this smart supermarket a Time to improve.
I am lazy, so I'll prefer to just pick stuffs up, gave them to the staffs along with money, and take them home. No need to scan myself, nevermind had to take out phone, open apps, and do whatever steps required.
This type of futuristic approach is also good, yet when it comes to the details of a pure shopping experience, human assisted techniques and approach is unmatched, since it is skills that makes every shopping experience a meme or a memento while making and creating GDP up and upbeat, employment, employers and employees and respective businesses.
That lobster looked really good. We have a store in Texas that you can get all your food and they’ll cook it for you as well. There’s no tables but they package it for you in a picnic style and will even cut the cooked meat/seafood to your liking. They plan to expand the store to include a cafeteria style eating where its a community table setting.
Cool concept but there’s another supermarket in the UK that I think is much more efficient in using technology. This is a step and I think there’ll be a lot more improvement to go through but non the less I find the video relaxing! hahaha! I enjoy grocery shopping :)
WOW! your videos are amazing! I never knew they had so much English stuff in Singapore! The prices of stuff from America are comparable (and sometimes better) than those found here in the US! Thankyou so much for sharing!
I guess a fun place if you're rich and want to use your phone through the whole experience. I don't think that's what real food and an experience are about. Not for me.
Very cool video. The store is a bit impractical and gimmicky, but the tech head in me still thinks it's cool. Also, I worked at a grocery store 20 years ago with one of the first, if not the first, self checkout in my city. It was clunky and problematic as heck. A fad that would never catch on. Now they're all over the place, and work (for the most part) pretty well. This could definitely be a look at a future of shopping :)
Nice place to hangout for few hours, but not so smart when everything still needs to be guided by human, the transaction of the payment system also takes too long after scanning the QR code.
On one hand, I can see this being practical/fun/interesting, but I also look at all the insanely bad things that could happen if this was put in the US.
Buying the produce fresh and having it cooked in front of you is always a winner. People love that experience. But i think the shopping experience itself is a bit flawed. What about when a customer has bought boxes of heavy products? That wont be carried by the ceiling conveyers as its too heavy. What about those who have bought a lot of products, how do they carry the bags or how does it fit in that tiny trolley? They'll need a larger trolley and that won't fit in the scanning system. Good but not there yet.
Honestly? Judging by the size of those crates I'm willing to bet they are about as big as a person, it's kinda hard to tell from the angle, but if that's the case they are more then likely gonna use braded steel cable to support the bags, more then likely having it attached through the bag to underneath it as well (so that the bag is being cradled by the cable) If this is true then those cables can hold a couple hundred pounds, the actual fabric probbaly dosent hold that much weight, I didnt see anything overly large in the store, but I am willing to bet if somone gets alot of stuff they just split it between multiple bags (Entirely based on what I saw in this video, probbaly not accurate)
Haha. I looked at the tiny shopping cart and thought...ok. But here it is common to buy water, pet supplies, groceries for an entire week, etc all in one go. Pack it in the car and drive home with 289319 products. Guess if you had to take the train or bus, you would only buy a small amount too.
When you buy the lobster then they gave you to fork, knife and spoon with plastic you don't need plastic to open just use paper and wrap the fork, knife and spoon it is super simple. Plus when you finish earn the food then have to something put shopping cart in for long.
I do like that you can shop for a meal and have them prepare it right there. Would solve the problem of over-buying when you're hungry, plus you get to choose your cut/piece instead of the cook choosing for you. In future, it might work better for produce to be given a computer-readable tag per piece or bunch instead of wasting all the packaging on things that don't need it. Then you could choose to use their bags/boxes or bring your own containers/bags. Make it more like a tech savvy farmer's market. jmho, though.
That's kind of neat, but it looks like a great solution to a non-existent problem, that doubles the time it takes to go shopping for groceries. I'd go there... "once". Great video. I am totally addicted to your videos. 👽🖖"Na-nu"
I don't really understand how this is smart lol I was expecting them to like order off a menu and have all their groceries shoot down into a basket or some robots or something
Rather use self checkout at my normal market. The experience is cool though, and the idea of it is interesting to see what can be improved for the future.
I’ve never seen Halloween peeps!!?? They are the cutest thing you should get them and see how they taste like. I wonder if the orange tastes like pumpkin 🎃 like the color orange 🍊
I think people complaining about the tech and waiting to purchase don't know about the tech we have in the us that can do this easy. you basically just walk out of the store with your items and the computer sensors know which items you have and what your account is so it charges automatically

It would be very difficult for older people who are not very tech savvy. I personally would love it.
I love it too! It's super cool
It all looked amazing until that collection point at the end... DRAMA
This is very nice to watch from something we don't have lol
Y’all need to chill with the amount of plastic y’all use. It’s ridiculous.
Alex Undiscovery that doesnt mean they have an excuse for using too much Plastic. Im from Asia and yes it IS common THATS the sad part.
Yo u see them apples individually wrapped I’m like wtf 2.49
This is cool! Definitely an experience more than a convience. Food looks amazing!
Yes I agree
I dont think this modern market is faster... The checkout takes too long 🤔😓☹
To be honest, this is a market that's for the rich and wants to spend their time in it and not to be in a hurry. There are different types of markets and this is of those for leisure purposes.
What people need to realise is that this isn’t a replacement for a normal supermarket, it’s an alternative that has some different elements that are non-traditional 🤷🏼♀️
its a really really bad and slow alternative, that's the problem.
Edit: sorry I didn't see this comment was 6 months old
This may not be practical but its a good start.
Look like a premium grocery store. Beautiful
This type of futuristic approach is also good, yet when it comes to the details of a pure shopping experience, human assisted techniques and approach is unmatched, since it is skills that makes every shopping experience a meme or a memento while making and creating GDP up and upbeat, employment, employers and employees and respective businesses.
imagine bringing my mom and dad to this supermarket.. they'll coming home empty handed 🤣

Thank you for sharing! This supermarket was super cool and futuristic. I love the concept of getting your groceries delivered to you as well.
You guys just make me want to go there and go experience in person. I love your videos a big hello from America!
Sel Gonzo Hello!
That lobster looked really good.
We have a store in Texas that you can get all your food and they’ll cook it for you as well. There’s no tables but they package it for you in a picnic style and will even cut the cooked meat/seafood to your liking. They plan to expand the store to include a cafeteria style eating where its a community table setting.
need details, what is this store you speak of?
I'm not sure how many minute to do for packing but Collection area is too slow based on this video clip. the area would easily becrowded.
sonicsen Gotta statt somewhere right lol
ikr
Это словно рай для гурманов. Обожаю этот канал и её ,,дигустатора,,. Обожаю все и всех кто создаёт эту прелесть.
Cool concept but there’s another supermarket in the UK that I think is much more efficient in using technology. This is a step and I think there’ll be a lot more improvement to go through but non the less I find the video relaxing! hahaha! I enjoy grocery shopping :)
China is more efficient
Geremy Roxas Tesco’s?
Smart scan at Sainsbury's?
Which one it is? and what exactly is there?
WOW! your videos are amazing! I never knew they had so much English stuff in Singapore! The prices of stuff from America are comparable (and sometimes better) than those found here in the US! Thankyou so much for sharing!
Peace… Shalom… Salam... Namaste and Thank You Everybody for All that you are doing to heal our Mother Earth 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ 🌷 ❤
I love watching all your RUclips content videos .. I am from Indonesia..
Just had to comment again! The fluffy pancakes look delicious 😋😋😋
Nishy Ding the pancakes were really good 😋
pls that is cancer!
I miss the video's of the young lady trying each food and giving the "Smile and Nod" of approval
So much fun to watch! I love Singapore ... hope to visit one day soon! Big thumbs up
Hi I really love this I am in the USA. I love your videos. Thank you.
I guess a fun place if you're rich and want to use your phone through the whole experience. I don't think that's what real food and an experience are about. Not for me.
i couldn't say it better
Still beats Malaysia though.
This looks cool and fun. You're still eating real food here and having it prepared for you??? Don't be so negative.
DmY808 Aww, is it really boring in Singapore? Is there any popular fun activities? I want to visit or even live there one day.
@DmY808 If Singapore's weather is what you call horrible. Good luck in other countries dude.
Very interesting place. Thx 4 sharing ☺
The amount of background noise is crazyyyyyyyyy. Love the quality of the video tho👍🏻
This is just for a special and cute experience. You may like to go to Habitat regularly to buy groceries but it will take as long as a traffic jam.
I will stick to the old way..
Thank you
i love all these vending machine ideas! 👏🏾👏🏾 if you don’t wanna talk to people, this is greatttt!
This was so relaxing to watch
Wow I never thought I'd see Avery's in Singapore! I live 5 minutes down the road from where they make the soda in New Britain, Connecticut!
Eric Davis They also have Bundaberg Root Beer which is an Australian brand that I see in my local Aus supermarkets!
idk why, but i find this really calming...i have issues.
@@jxkkashyehf8199 I got the exact same question lmao
@@jxkkashyehf8199 Americans destroy everything if there isn't an armed guard watching them
Seriously, those pancakes look amazing💓
Catalina Bien they tasted really good too 😋
シンガポールってこんなに素敵なスーパーがあるんですね。とても興味が湧きました🎵何よりシーフードが安いのがgood♥️
Looks so neat, clean and spacious!
The home of the fresh but everything is wrapped in plastic
It's a pretty place though
Very interesting supermarket 👍🏻
The quality of the video is amazing
Clean and organized, more than a Walmart could ever say about itself
Love it! I’m old enough to remember punch registers from the 70’s. Modern technology is awesome!
Wow i cant wait to visit this supermart when i arrive in singapore this dec!!
Great upload new here stay connected
Buying the produce fresh and having it cooked in front of you is always a winner. People love that experience. But i think the shopping experience itself is a bit flawed. What about when a customer has bought boxes of heavy products? That wont be carried by the ceiling conveyers as its too heavy. What about those who have bought a lot of products, how do they carry the bags or how does it fit in that tiny trolley? They'll need a larger trolley and that won't fit in the scanning system. Good but not there yet.
Honestly? Judging by the size of those crates I'm willing to bet they are about as big as a person, it's kinda hard to tell from the angle, but if that's the case they are more then likely gonna use braded steel cable to support the bags, more then likely having it attached through the bag to underneath it as well (so that the bag is being cradled by the cable)
If this is true then those cables can hold a couple hundred pounds, the actual fabric probbaly dosent hold that much weight, I didnt see anything overly large in the store, but I am willing to bet if somone gets alot of stuff they just split it between multiple bags
(Entirely based on what I saw in this video, probbaly not accurate)
Haha. I looked at the tiny shopping cart and thought...ok. But here it is common to buy water, pet supplies, groceries for an entire week, etc all in one go. Pack it in the car and drive home with 289319 products. Guess if you had to take the train or bus, you would only buy a small amount too.
Just a thought, what happen if half way though your shopping, your phone run out of power? Are you trapped in the store forever?
🤣🤣 imagine that
When you buy the lobster then they gave you to fork, knife and spoon with plastic you don't need plastic to open just use paper and wrap the fork, knife and spoon it is super simple. Plus when you finish earn the food then have to something put shopping cart in for long.
Watching From The Philippines!! 🇵🇭
Setting aside those plastic wastes, it was an overall good shopping experience. Thanks for this. 😊
That steak looked badass!! 😍🤤
it is a school day tomorrow and I need to sleep..
but I am on here and am also, very entertained.
Rather use self checkout at my normal market. The experience is cool though, and the idea of it is interesting to see what can be improved for the future.
Can y’all just not appreciate the fact that this is kinda cool? Like it might not be efficient or time saving. But it’s still cool As hell.
This makes me sad, the packaging is over the top and the time waste is amazing. Where are the people we need to interact with to be human?
You do realize that people in Singapore do recycle a lot right? Most of the recycled materials are used to power plants and such.
@@The_Olive_Dragon jus read Singapore only recycle 2% so what are you talking about????
You don't "need" to interact with people and you certainly don't "need" to interact with them in order to be human. How silly.
I’ve never seen Halloween peeps!!?? They are the cutest thing you should get them and see how they taste like. I wonder if the orange tastes like pumpkin 🎃 like the color orange 🍊
Why are the prices in Dollar? 7$ for grapes? Or did I read it wrong?
The prices on the tags weren’t in US dollars
Singapore use dollar
ok thanks xD
I wouldn’t mind trying this out every other shopping trip. I get bored with the same thing all the time,so this is cool.
It looks cool but why would I go through all that wasting my time waiting when I can just go through self checkout or express cashier line?
To employ even more machines than self checkout does. They took arrr gawbs! :-)
WOW that is a slow way to get your stuff ! Why not just take it from the cart with you. Thanks for sharing very interesting to watch .
Such a complicated process😅 watching this video and how all the robots work made me realise humans still work faster lol
Haven't gone 2 mins in and it's already better than Wal Mart. I'm in.
it hurts my economical heart to see the entire waste of time and trash in this video and supermarket...
I think people complaining about the tech and waiting to purchase don't know about the tech we have in the us that can do this easy. you basically just walk out of the store with your items and the computer sensors know which items you have and what your account is so it charges automatically
