We’re Marianne and Chris, a married couple from the UK. After some life changing events we decided that life was just too short. We sold all our belongings, bought an old Campervan & rented our house to travel full time. The aim is to attempt to visit every country in the world in either our van or with a backpack. We started videoing our travels for our family and then decided it was a wonderful way to document and share our adventures.
Our latest adventure started in January 2020 when we left the UK in an attempt to drive our van all the way around the world. Let the adventures continue.

Another stunning place in Turkey 😍
Hi Melanie - We agree! What a fabulous country full of amazing places to share ... more coming soon !! woo hoo - Marianne xx
@@TREADtheglobe Amasra is so beautiful. I'm from Bartın. But I live in Germany.
Amasra is so beautiful, we visited in February and even then the weather was lovely. The Blacksea area of Turkey is so so beautiful and happily has not been disturbed by mass-tourism. Also, the people in the Blacksea are the kindest people I've ever come across, proud of their area, proud of their nation and love to help tourist and show them their beautiful country.
Absolutely they are.
Well said - thank you for your message
I hope the Black Sea region always stays so beautiful and natural.
As a Turkish, I'm impressed to see the beauties of my country which I haven't seen yet. You guys are amazing! :)
@@joecofamily my hometown Bursa offers many beautiful places 🥳
Thank you! 😃 it has been such an amazing journey so far and there is lots to come too - thank you for your compliment and we hope you join us for more - M 🌺
@@TREADtheglobe I would be so happy 😍 😍
Hi, just wanted to thank you for sharing with us all those beautiful countryside and towns you are traveling through. Turkey is beautiful, people there are friendly and wonderful. I really think that being stuck in Turkey, during this pandemic, was the best thing that could have happened to you. I can not imagine better place for you. I am just worried about winter coming, but hope you will be safe and have a worm place to shelter in. But people there are friendly and for sure you will have a lot of help. Thank you once again for making my dsys lighter in this crazy times. Greetings from Canada. Originaly I am from Sarajevo (Bosnia) with roots from Ulcinj Montenegro.
Thank you - you are very sweet, we will share how we go and we are sure we will be fine - but watch this space. The people and beauty we have found has been awesome and we look forward to the adventure and the future ... so much to share and do !! woo hoo 🌺💐
@@TREADtheglobe I'm trying to figure out which of you two wrote this. "Woo-hoo".... It's a tough call, but my vote is Maryanne (don't know what spelling you use!). :)
What a beautiful village Amasra is. We were on holiday in Sarigerme last month and met a girl from Amasra who told us about how lovely her village was and I have to say she was right !! I never thought I would have had the pleasure of seeing it, yet there you are on one of your stops 😀😀
Wonderful - Thank you ... we have had a great time finding these spots and had so many recommendations ... we may not manage them all on this trip, but there are lots more to come !! woo hoo 🌺
Amasra is really famous for its fish and locals travel from all over the country to eat it! Try the 'iskorpit' or black scorpion fish if you get the chance! It's unbelievably good!
Thanks for the tips - we are excited as we are doing lots of the coastline in the near future !! woo hoo - M
Those areas are so beautiful! It's so sad that so few people know about these and that Turkey's only famous for their luxury hotels in touristy areas. But in a way it's also better, because I prefer those small villages, unaffected by tourists, where everyone knows everyone and everything is made by hand! Thank you so much for showing us the other side of Turkey! Wishing you a lovely day ^^
It is not sad. It is good that very few people know about the place
Look at Kusadasi. Tourism destroyed the town.
We are glad you enjoyed it Cake is Yummy - we are having so much fun finding all the little places and hidden gems as well as the better known places .. this way there is something for everyone - best wishes and thanks again - M
@@joecofamily So many good locations! What exactly are you looking for? :)
Must agree with you, beautiful place.
It really is! Thanks Andy ... we loved it for sure - M

You are welcome - we are so happy to show lots of beautiful places as we travel 🌺
Ne kadar yazık.. daha kendi ülkemizi bile doya doya gezemiyoruz yabancıların çektiği videolara muhtaç kalıyoruz
I once met a Turkish bus driver, who has been all over the country. He said that Amasra was his favorite place in Turkey.
Hi - we can understand why he would think that - M
Making me hungry again!!!
Ha Ha - sorry ... 😂🙏 M
Dear Marianne and Chris. Welcome to Amasra. Amasra is my hometown where I was born and raised. I haven't been able to go for 10 years and I missed it very much. Thanks to you, I was longing, thank you.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@joecofamily Hi. My English is not good, I translate with translation. Turkey is a country where you can have your fill of 4 seasons. What season do you like? If you want a region with a long summer season, I would recommend the Mediterranean region Antalya Muğla. For example, there are a lot of English people living on the Muğla Ölüdeniz coast. If you want to live in a slightly cooler season, I recommend you to live in İzmir Balıkesir Çanakkale. If you want to live in a region where the summer season is short and the winter season is long with snow and rain, fresh air, plenty of oxygen, I recommend you to live in the Black Sea region of Amasra. I Antalya, I live in is one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey's Antalya. For example, today the air temperature was 30 degrees. You have the chance to swim in the sea in January February in Antalya and go up the mountain by car for 40 km and ski. There are some of the world's few beaches in Antalya, Konyaaltı and Lara beaches. Stay with love.
Sounds great! We loved it and thank you for sharing in our adventure with us - it is there for you to watch whenever you want and enjoy it ... we loved it and will be back one day we hope in the future - best wishes Marianne
What a beautiful town. If you have to be stranded in a country then there are worst places than Turkey. Take care 💙❤️👍
No argument there !! LOL
Happy birthday Marianne 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 🎊
What a fabulous place, I had never really considered going to Turkey until seeing your videos of it, but I will definitely be heading that way in the spring.
Have fun! Turkey is waiting for you and has loads to see and do - M
Beautiful. !! Whoooowoo😁☺️
Thank you! 😃 We are happy you liked it too - just beautiful xx
WOW that looks so beautiful!
Amasra was a very popular tourist destinations in 1970s before the mediterranean and Aegen coast were not easily accessible by road. As Amasra was close to the capital Ankara , most people working in the state and government offices loved to come here. I and my family visited these lovely place 4 times between 1965 thru 1975.
You guys are the global ambassadors of Tourism Turkey that the country have never been able to produce.👍 I’m Turkish myself but, through watching your show, I’ve discovered so much about my own country. They should pay for your videos and use them both domestic and internationally, which I’m certain would boost the tourism industry quite a lot. I also want to add that I admire your positive commentary on everything you’ve seen or anyone you’ve met; you’ve been there for a long time now and one could imagine that you may have had some unpleasant experiences, but you never said anything negative...Keep up the good work, well done👍
Hi M - thank you for your message - we have not had any negative issues yet ... and we hope not to LOL - if you want to help Tourism and Us - please do share the videos and our content links to as many people as you know and ask them to share them on - every new view will tell the algorithms that these videos are worth a watch !! lets get busy sharing the love !! woo hoo - M

Welcome to Amasra. You are very lovely couple. I have been following you for a long time. But I wrote first comment your channel. I wish you have a nice trip.
Thank you so much 😊
Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror, who conquered Istanbul previously in 1453, captured Amasra in 1460 CE from the Genovese. Legend says that, when he looked upon Amasra's setting from a height, he asked his tutor Akşemseddin ""Oh tutor, is this not the eye of the world?"(TR: Lala Lala Çeşm-i Cihan bu mu ola?). This event is memorialized in the names of restaurants (Çeşm-i Cihan or Eye of the World) and in one of the several monuments that decorate the town.
Thank you for the information - M
The beauty and landscape diversity of this country is insane!
Beautiful town city. I've thought cide was on the Mediterranean or Aegean sea, how wrong was I!
Thanks for showing us all this. After the pandemic is settled, I hope I can visit turkey.
The Town you mean is Side and it is near Antalya. The Town Chris and Marianne visited was Cide ( pronouncing "C" as "J" like in Jimmy = Jide)
It really is! The sea was so blue you would think it was !! we are delighted you are enjoying Turkey and know that Turkey is waiting for you !! M
Your vlogs are literally amazing. I really look forward to when I see a new video from you both. I'm turkish but was born and live in London; your videos makes me miss Turkey and want to travel to other places there. It's great your showing not just the tourist areas but everything the country has to offer. As a turk I need I need to travel to these other towns too and not keep visiting the same holiday locations, as there's so much this country has to offer...and you both have proved that. So thank you and stay safe; keep doing what your doing xox
Thank you S G - we made the decision when we started travelling to try and visit every country in either Trudy or with a backpack ... as it is completely normal to go back to the same spots that you know as it is where you like it !! but we will continue to share new places and hopefully find you new holiday spots - best wishes and thanks again for your message - Marianne
You Both are right! Amasra is one of the best keeped secret of Turkey, one of the most beautiful and picturesque town at the black Sea shores, also Çile, with so much history, with 2 old castles, amazing place, and you were very lucky with weather, I was there on June for one week , and every day was clouded and rainy, so much rain that some times I thought I was in North shores of France! Congratulations another amazing video!
Yep - we loved it - the Black Sea coast seems to have its own weather system for sure
Truly amazing, how beautiful the Blue skies and the sea just gorgeous. Being able to amble through those little streets lovely interesting little shops. Feel trap here in the UK it is really great to watch your adventures thanks for sharing guy’s looking forward to Sunday. 👍👍

This was one of your best videos and it really made an impact on me. I'm turkish but I've never been to Black Sea region and wasn't planning of going to there.. ever. LOL But this video changed my mind 11 months ago. I will go to Amasra asap. And you are always lovely but in this video and around that time (agu-nov 2020) your videos were extra nice. I have become a huge fan of yours after that period. Lots of love.
Thank you and we hope you have a lovely time !
Amasra is such a beautiful, cozy, little town. I knew you'd love it. Glad you've made a stop there.
@@joecofamily Hey Joe! I am probably not the right person to answer your question. I moved abroad 5 years ago and found my peace out of Turkey. I always say Turkey is a great location for a holiday but not so great when it comes to living there. It may still be nice if you have a passive income and stay out of politics. Then, i'd suggest south-west of Turkey. It's like paradise if you can afford living there.
It really is! We had such a great time and hope to find some more gems to share soon - best wishes Marianne
What a view...amazing to experience this ..

I think, you are the luckiest people during the pandemic. You have fallen into a paradise country! Most of the tourists visit seaside places for a short holiday or visit only İstanbul and leave the country. Enjoy the whole paradise 👍

Beautiful town and funny ending..at first wondered what was going on with all the giggling!
You and me both! LOL - it is ridiculous really but it is always fun - woo hoo !! M
"C" is pronounced as "J" in Turkish (like in Jimmy or Jimi Hendrix). I was first confused as you said that you were in "Side" ( you pronounced "Cide" as "Side"). Side is one of the famous tourism towns near to Antalya and Alanya on the Mediterranean cost of Turkey. I asked myself "how could they be in Side when they are on the way to Istanbul along the northern cost road?"
🤔🤨
Then I saw the word "Cide" somewhere in your posts, then everything makes sense again 😂😂
One thing I noticed about the Turks, they'll mispronounce and correct you if you say it like them. They don't hear what they say. Only what you say. Learn what you need.
Hi Elanur - there is a video of our time on the beach near Side ... Antalya area ... as we had a great break on the beach and loved hanging out there - thanks for your explanation - M

Woo hoo. Have been so looking forward to this video since saw you there on polar steps. Loved the live feed last Sunday but you made us wait extra days for this 🤣. I have been coming to Turkey for 25+ years but never to the black sea coast. As yet! It looks stunning which is no surprise as Turkey is just beautiful with fabulous culture, scenery, hospitality and food. If I didn't work full time I would be exploring the world so I am definitely there in spirit and living vicariously. I have been googling the black sea quite a lot lately for some reason 😀 . lovely places, lovely video, I love Amasra, my childhood was in Bartın, inland but a very close city to Amasra. It is also an attractive town to visit. Thank you :)
@@joecofamily it is interesting that you have Turkish relatives :) I saw your channel now. Suggestion is up to your preferences actually, if you want seaside, aegean and mediterranean side is beautiful, there are many different towns and cities. The favorite towns may be Marmaris, Fethiye, Bodrum, Kalkan, Kaş and Çeşme. If you need a big city on seaside it means definitely Antalya or may be Izmir. The blacksea region in this video is also good but generally local tourists prefers to go. If you prefer to go or live inland you must see the region of cappadocia with its towns like Ürgüp, Göreme, Avanos etc. You have already been to Istanbul, it is very crowded and cosmopolitan city. I personally do not prefer to live but I can go there for touristic attraction. I live in capital city, Ankara, a modern city but away from seaside, in the middle of Anatolia. If hot climate and humid air is not problem for you, mediterranean region, I mean Antalya and its around, is the best. You can also search Antakya (Hatay) and Gaziantep if you want best cuisine :)
Glad you enjoyed it Emre - there is so much beauty in this area ... we know we will be back here in the future as it is so lovely !! M
