@@MD-ru5vs yeah but usually their music is heavy and good for workouts and stuff. So interesting how they are able to do the exact opposite just as good.
This reminds me very much of another KJ classic (aren't they all?) Adorations... i mean, the atmosphere, song's structure and overall feeling is very similar. It's like Adorations but brought to this modern era ♥️👌🎶
Serious firepower, backed up by a not less powerful melody. I must say that I definitely like these non-usual metal/indus atmospheres developed by Killing Joke over the years, starting with ''European Super State'', ''In Cythera'' and this heroic pop rock song ''Euphoria'' with strong reminiscences from ''Love Like Blood'' which was my introduction to the band in 1984. Good ol' times! The introduction of electronics has also magnified KJ's sound. The rest of ''Pylon'' is a pure gem. God Bless You, KJ, for being unique and raising the resistance flag high!
Lyrics: Overcast, the branches bare The autumn leaves have fallen I can hear the magpies laugh I can’t shake this melancholy And then the cloud breaks A ray of sunlight - Gloria! As if a promise. Some strange kind of euphoria... Dark phantoms of the past Some things are best forgotten Like Orpheus, don’t look back The best years are waiting for you And then the cloud breaks A ray of sunlight - Gloria! As if a promise. Some strange kind of euphoria... And then the cloud breaks A ray of sunlight - Gloria! As if a promise. Some strange kind of euphoria... And then the cloud breaks A ray of sunlight - Gloria! As if a promise. Some strange kind of euphoria... Euphoria... Euphoria... Euphoria...
killing Joke are one of the best bands to come out of England. I first saw them in the early 80's before Fire Dances and thought they were special. many of their songs are what people think. I was raised on KJ and I will die loving all their music. Long live KJ.
The influence of Killing Joke in lots of metal bands is unquestionable. Fear factory is a clear example. I´m glad to hear from the pioneers of many many of my favourite bands. Instant favourite!
Killing Joke is like a true, ver close friend to me - since I was 13 (when "pandemonium was released). Finally managed to see then live twice in recent years. Litterally they're one of the best & most unique bands ever! Thanks for the amazing high quality music all those years!
+VjetroP No, not really. I've got the full Killing Joke catalog and while their records sure are loud now - aren't all records - I do like their "in your face" sound. The 80s stuff was the 80s stuff and sure, Pandemonium sounded awesome, but that was then, the 90s, and this is now. My opinion.
J.M. Wolfman So the muffled sound of the guitars on the very disappointing PYLON seems to be ideal to you? I've read early reviews of FANS (not bribable hype-happy journalists) and the majority of them are not pleased with the album, rating it way lower than the previous half-dozen albums. And I agree with them. The band has become derivative and the growl vocals are almost not used at all which gives the album less variation and power. Geordie's riffs are unspectacular to the most part.
+VjetroP Well, since Killing Joke are self producing their albums, I guess you can only complain to them if you don't like the sound. Each to their own.
+VjetroP Many long term Killing Joke followers aren't keen on the latter day growling vocals. To be honest I'm not bothered either way. Listen to "I Am The Virus". It's got a bit of growl in the chorus. Apart from the three songs currently available from "Pylon", where did you hear the rest of the album and read the early reviews you speak of? Links would be excellent.
Killing Joke back on top form and sounding better than ever!...The two tracks I've heard from their imminent release 'Pylon', this one and 'I Am The Virus', are first rate and both album and tour are a must!
I remember many many moons ago hearing them FOR THE FIRST TIME one night on head banggers ball mtv and I was instantly hooked completely BAD ASS BAND I LOVE THEM....

To produce an album of such quality, with tracks of this magnitude, after 36 years of making music - respect, guys! It's fucking wonderful. :)
I concur!
I can't listen to this song too many times. Amazing.
I dont understand how and why but this song always brings tears to my eyes.
Yes because it is full of emotions, that is the power of KJ.
@@MD-ru5vs yeah but usually their music is heavy and good for workouts and stuff. So interesting how they are able to do the exact opposite just as good.
Literally, me too. Idk why either. It just HITS in the chest-feels (I said what I said)
Because it sounds euphoric.
Back to their classic mid 80s sound..Brilliant!
+zillionairemark yes indeed agreed !
I much prefer mid 80s Killing Joke over anything else they did. Euphoria, Cythera, Raven King, and Singularity are all welcome returns that period
A new Killing Joke classic
+hellisfnboring Their weakest since 1988.
+VjetroP I don't think so at all... I love it actually
+VjetroP outside the gate is amazing.. dont agree
+VjetroP definitely not.
babanguida
Not much weaker than Democracy, Pandemonium, 2003 album, or Extremities?
No other band 35 years into their career sounds as good. Brilliant!
+ELECTRIC MAGAZINE RUSH?
permaveg
OK you're right, nothing can beat Rush, but KJ comes very close :)
+ELECTRIC MAGAZINE Their both unique in a world where originality is rare.
+ditimely Same with me.
+ELECTRIC MAGAZINE It's derivative and average.
immediate classic. I have goosebumps

They not just speak about the truth but showing us that on the highest level of the true and Pure ART of music. Heroes.
Wow smooth voice Jaz is back! Reminds me of Brighter Than A Thousand Suns!
I actually feel depressed that I missed this band from the beginning. Making it up now, this is fucking epic.
I remember winning their first LP in a card game, playing my best mate back in 1980, still my best mate now and still KJ grow on me....
Wow! This is awesome! Driving hard but melodic.

MagmaXtreme these are some of the best lyrics have heard in years. Some strange kind of Euphoria.
I dont think he sings "... and the cloud breaks", he sounds more like " i m standing closer "
@@MrAsaf1984 , I found "and then the door breaks" also: "and in the darkness"... Google it! 😬
@@firgul Nope,. Doesnt sound like he is singing that. Really mysterious case :) .
I heard "I think I doubt this".

yes, Jaz picks up some perfect fills
Awesome... Killing Joke is on a roll. Sounding better than ever.

+VjetroP No, not really.
