Yes, me too. I got to meet Martin Atkins at one of his talks and told him he played on my fav album ever (this one), he was pretty chuffed. Geordie's guitar work at its best here I think.....that mystical quality that captures the imagination. Geordie = magick!!!!
I just love the variation between minor and major scales. Geordie uses the chords so well that, even when it seems they don't fit in, still sounds fucking good. I don't know of another gtr player that does it so swiftly.
Solitude, solitude We come into this world alone And to this place we return again Far away in a quiet place Try to think of an open space I watch my life flash before me Remembered friends that i love so dearly And while a veil obscures my vision I surrender to the will of God I found peace ,yes i found at last All i see has been meant to be?? Down, down in the forest clearing With a breeze blowing through the branches And i breathe in and out so very slowly It sends a shiver right down my spine In the quiet i can come to terms with All i've done and who i am I turn and face the sun Then all my troubles fall behind me like a shadow In solitude Solitude
What a group, this band is soooo underated & i LOVE ALL their songs & it seems like they have over 100 albums. This is a band that has stayed very busy & active year after year after year & i'm sure are STILL grinding...... yes Killing Joke is a very underated band indeed !!!!
Thank god for KJ...let’s keep them to ourselves please...or I will have literally nothing left musically as sacrosanct ...well a few others left under my sleeve thank the God/dess 😉let’s keep the shivers down the spine in life generally
One of the most frustrating aspects of Killing Joke's history is Jaz's complete inability to recognise the KJ tracks that have had the most impact on motivating audiences worldwide…by which I mean to continue to turn up and support their legacy…As a consequence, their 2022 sets have missed countless amazing songs that would send their audiences wild…It seems the baggage behind KJ history is stopping them playing many of their greatest songs…So sad…
" found the tape in Hawaii...was listening to a lot of New York Hardcore but found this band and was hooked forever. like the way they use keys here...better than LIKEAVIRGIN keyboard... ha ! "
As soon as I bought this double album, I almost did not experience an orgasm with Solitude. Emotional eruption has passed through me like electricity..
Really one of the most underrated Albums in Music history...
Not for those in the know.
Yes. One of the best KJ albums. PIL drummer is very good.
The BEST Killing Joke album ever made
I wish this album was on spotify
This song describes my mood as of late perfectly.
My fave Joke album, if not fave album of all time - nice to see some agree here. SO FUCKING GOOD.
Probably the most sinister opening to a song I've heard.
RIP Kevin Walker.

Unmistakably Killing Joke. Tribal and Hypnotic
One of the most descriptive songs about solitude.
Spirit if Eden if talk talk and this are my all Time favorite album.
Fantastic
Very different albums but both brilliant.
Obviously not the same style but both fantastic... And my third all Time is the mabuses created in 1991 by Kim fahy, also marvelous...
