We used a couple of these to drive Big TV monitors in our Church foyer. They will fit in behind the monitor and since they have Wi-Fi we can download video's to display, and we have a usb extension cable up there if we want to load something from a thumb drive. Mostly Power Point or Google Doc, slides..

Can you tell me what the open, white 10-pin connector is for? You can see it clearly at the 5:14 mark on the left-hand side of the board in the middle.

It could but not very fast. New Intel NUCs in 11th gen have a more powerful igpu and also newer generation Thunderbolt so much better choice if you want igpu or even external gpu via thunderbolt
instead of using the pcie mini slot for the wifi/bluetooth card, can i use an m.2 ssd in there instead? thanks

You missing one important thing. How did you connect brix to the monitor? Did you use mini-DP port or HDMI. I had GB-BSi3H-6100 and inside of the box look a lot the same. For some reason I couldn't get hdmi connection working on boot up. I've tried mini-DP connection and it worked. I exchanged 3 units at the Fry's store and they all had no working HDMI output when I was trying to boot up. So, how did you connect your monitor?
Another version of the Intel NUC it looks like. Much higher price for the Gigabyte version by the looks of it. Not to mention you still have to buy a hard drive of your choice and RAM. Plus purchase an OS. Wouldn't mind getting one of these mini computers it would clear up a lot of desk space not having a tower sitting on it or on the floor under a work center desk.
I've thought why would someone buy a computer without a CD/DVD drive, but with USB flash drives I guess the CD/DVD is soon to go the way of the diskettes and diskette drives.
It should be comparable on price and equal or better on features/spec
All, I have the GB-BXi7-4500 but don't have a SATA cable, i know i can use an mSATA HD, but i am trying to use a 2.5" i already have. Any idea where i can buy the SATA cable to install a 2.5" HDD? Thanks!

Jean Mitchell Martin Different processors and on board graphics, they also have some different output's like the celeron version has a vga while others have hdmi and display port. There are AMD versions too. All require low voltage 1.35v memory though.
There is space for 2 hard drives in the brix. Can you install the hard drives in a RAID configuration?

Ryan Hunter Frederick i have raid0 running on my brix bxi3h-4010 im running F7 bios it took a while to get windows to see it at build stage downloaded so much raid drivers one from the new 5010 not sure if that one or the one from intel but it works

i bought a gb-blce-4105 but none of my win7 installer will work. incredibly fustrating. ive even remake several usb installers using various options and still nothing. what do you use to make your installers?
go to Microsoft site and download and create installer from their page. If that doesn;t work id be surprised. could be a faulty NUC

How loud is the Brix? Is it completely silent or can you hear the fans from the moment it turns on? Or what amount of work causes the fans to kick in?
It seems pretty quiet to me. The fans will ramp up when gaming though but unless you mute your speakers when gaming, it probably won't be a major issue. These new CPUs have a TDP of 15W compared to 65W iirc of older gen...
dinos22 I don't intend to do any gaming on this thing. I just want to use it as a Linux workstation, but from what you said it doesn't seem to me like this thing will be loud for this.

According to this link, you've got an odd driver issue in OS database. Maybe the newer ISO has a problematic driver installed as I used an older version when i did this install, hmmm

dinos22 I saw that information, but is with Windows 8.1. Searching with our friend Google, I found that is a problem of Intel and a microcode that prevent the O.S. found the cores of the microprocessor. Many Users disable the multicore option in the bios and UEFI mode and can install Windows 10 but with one core.
Y checked the gigabyte's web and is not supported by the moment. hope in the future yes.
I was unable to find a concrete solution for this problem, so I will searching for a solution , any way, many thanks for helping me.
Oscar Abuawad It's an issue with the Gigabyte BIOS. A specific microcode instruction is not supported, which is used before Windows boots. Happens with Haswell CPUs. We have to wait until Gigabyte updates the BIOS. ASRock has already issued BIOS updates, they have the same problem. Only thing you can do is bugging Gigabyte to update the BIOS for Haswell based boards.

+Photography -vlogs I work for Gigabyte so I don't buy these but you should be easily able to pick one up. Make sure you get the new one with 6500 Core i7!

elliott williams Have you actually tested a machine? This is a 15W TDP CPU, absolutely no throttling detected in all my testing!
well did you push this thing on ultra settings?
elliott williams Yes. How did you measure the throttling itself or did you simply experience a fps drop in games on ultra settings?
Is it really fanless ? So the box is ok to dissipate heat/15w under 100 degrees in high load ? My setup can stress cpu 100% for hours.

+Derek Dickerson Any Linux system will fly on this and make Windows 10 look very slow..I use pure Arch so I'm thinking about this..I love the idea of the size and being able to hide it away..Think I want one :-)
Appreciate the information, but it may help to do a dry run before recording. Know what you're going to say etc with a basic script. Saves a lot of time where you're trying to think of what to say. Be nice to have a little more distance from the camera as well, nothing more distracting than a massive hand in front of the lens moving things around.
