Great idea. How much did it cost? With the high wheels I can see it's starting to get tippy - are you still using it this way or have you improved on it since? I would have made the axles wider or used smaller and wider wheels...
@@johnnyjimj irrc it was around $106 with everything. Yeah still using it the same exact way with no issues. Sunk in the mud, on gravel, on rocks- not one problem. Use it on my 1 ton work van as well.
I don’t have a link. They are a composite material, like plastic. I just went into the store and looked at the wheels. Checked the lb rating on them and used the highest ones, 1100lbs
Awesome!!! Been looking for something like this at a good price. I might build one with this model or the new aluminum daytonas HF offers but going to double up Dually style 4 total wheels since since Glamis is my weekend getaway during this time of year. Need something a little more stable plus it'll add 2000lbs capacity on each corner of the jack so that's cool.
@@theninja001 The beefy tires provide the jack with extra stability, especially on sandy or rocky trails. I understand that they won't increase its "lifting capacity." I ended up purchasing a 3-ton Badland jack works great!
The circular lifting pad looks very similar to the lifting pad on the Pro Eagle jack. Does anyone know if the extension posts from the Pro Eagle will fit into the HF lifting pad? I have a 4WD Suburban with a 3" lift and 33" tires, and don't want to spend $500+ for Pro Eagle. Thought I might modify a HF 2-ton jack by removing the wheels and fabbing a skid plate instead...but would need an extension post to get enough lift.
With your rig I would the 3 ton one! I plan on doing the 3 ton but wanted to see how it would work with the 1.5ton. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
Missouri Kayak Fishing I’m currently working on a mount for mine. I keep all my gear in the bed with a lockable tote. It’s strapped in but I want a removable mount that it holds the jack by itself
quite disappointed with your edit. you did a fair bit of fabrication to make the jack work, but you did not show us the work... fortunately there are atleast half a dozen videos being recommended by youtube for sim8ilar projects.
I can agree with that. My channel is typically not a “how to” type channel. Too many complainers and negativity comes from those types of videos. Everyone is always an expert on the internet. My videos are just showing how I did it and if you wanted to do it yourself you could. Never been the kind of person to tell people how to do something, I just assume if you wanted to do something like this, you can weld, fabricate, etc. Not that I am anyone of those things but still lol. Have a good one!
This looks like a disaster waiting to happen. If those are harbor freight wheels then they are plastic. With that much weight and the potential for a side load this is not a good idea
@@TacomaDad the problem is when you get any kind of side load put on it, lifting one wheel can easily do that. Look at what has recently happened with the jack stands. That 1100 pound rating is when pushing directly down on the wheel. If youre comfortable with it then fine, i just dont want somebody to do this and then have a wheel fail as they are under a vehicle attempting to just loosen something real quick. I personally dont ever work on a vehicle without stands but lets face it, people do it.
It’s only purpose for me was to use it offroad. I rarely use it on a hard surface. It’s made to be throw in the mud to lift only a 1/4 of the vehicle at a time. Same thing can happen to any Jack really. Yes it could flip or twist with a side load, but so could any other Jack. I prefer this over a hi lift so this is what I use. I never said anyone had to do what I did. I wouldn’t crawl under a vehicle on the trail without a Jack stand either, and I would hope others would have the common sense to do that as well.
do you have a video of how you made it, im interested. love the design of it
No I do not. I didn’t record when I built it. Just this video explaining what I used. It’s pretty simple though!
Thing looks like it an RC ready to take off! Freaking awsome looking. Cool stuff!
Thanks for watching!

RCXD inbound! Lol, love it!!
Thanks for sharing, the jack did its job.
Thanks for watching! We will find out soon if it can hold up to an actual off-road repair soon 😎
I’d like to do something very similar. Like what you’ve done. How did you groove the axel shafts for the snap rings?
It’s fairly easy to do.
I used the grinder and just made a notch all the way around.
What size wheels are you using and where did you get them
Not sure of the size, I think 9-10” but they came from harbor freight as well. They are stamped rated for 1100lbs each.
Do you have a link for the wheels? I can only find plastic ones at HF. Thanks.
I don’t have a link. They are a composite material, like plastic.

Wheels won’t add capacity to the jack.

Tractor supply has a jack on sale right now that has 30” of lift. That might be a good bet for you.
T-Dad!!! This is awesome bro! Ingenious! I’m in like Flynn on this mod! Thank you....keep the vids coming loving the content as usual!
Thanks for the love! It was a fun project to do, trying to better my skills.
Appreciate the support 🤘🏻🙏
Where did you purchase the wheels from?
From Harbor Freight as well
Can't find the wheels with 1100 pound capacity
They are there! Just look through each wheel. It says on the wheel itself what the rating is
GREAT IDEAS! I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHERE TO GET THOSE WHEELS???
Thanks for watching!
The wheels came from Harbro freight as well.
yep I'm going to copy that! I thought about building a jack with a skid long the bottom with no wheels but I like this
With your rig I would the 3 ton one! I plan on doing the 3 ton but wanted to see how it would work with the 1.5ton. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
I agree... My only problem is how to mount it in the cargo area where its safe just incase a roll over on the highway.
Missouri Kayak Fishing I’m currently working on a mount for mine. I keep all my gear in the bed with a lockable tote. It’s strapped in but I want a removable mount that it holds the jack by itself
So did you have to thread the rod used for the front axle? To bolt the wheels to it?
No, I used the rod and cut notches towards the end. A -C clip- was used to hold the wheels on
where did you get the wheels?
They came from Harbor Freight as well.
1:17 you don't use a WHAT kind of road???
Use a Jack offroad lol
Did you ever make a riser or figure that piece out? Looking to do something similar.
No I didn’t. This is kinda in the back of the line as far as the list of to do’s lol. Thanks for watching!
How long before it broke?
Still works just fine
Wher did you buy the wheels at
The wheels also came from harbor freight
Theres a company that makes a conversion for these you can by that piece so you dont have to weld anything
That’s good to know. I just got bored and threw this together. Just wanted more welding practice.
What's the name?
U should a Uz’d smaller tires on front for better clearance on a regular car.. 😃& THAAT WAY ITT’D LOOK MORE LIKE THE PRO-EAGLE!🖐
It was only built for my truck. And it is just barely tall enough to lift it now lol
Awesome!! Great idea! Are you on Instagram? Have a few questions for you
Thanks! Yes I do. Jrfrisch91

Not nice to blame your baby Lol,aren't you supposed to be working. Lol .
Video was from last week! I just got around to editing it lol. And yes no blame the baby but he’s a non sleeper at night. Sleeps all day though 😴

So 1100 rated per wheel is not good enough? If lifting only one wheel off of the ground at a time, which is all that it was made for.

That setup would crush and fail 8f you tried to use it to lift a real truck. Should be fine on the wimpy Tacuma.
Eh not really. But good try 🫡
