I made one of these out of 3 ton Craftsman jack about 20 years ago. I used it racing a Hummer H1 in Morocco. It was awesome. You should have seen the looks on the faces of my fellow competitors when I pulled it out and used it. EASY PEASY, LEMON SQUEEZY to use! it makes jacking anything in the so easy. A regular 1.5 ton jack is fine for most people but an H1 ain't little ;-) I also put a pair of short bolts up through the bed that matched a pair of holes in the skid. The ends of the bolts had a small hole in the that you could put an R clip through. Big strap to keep it tight and the pins/R clips to make sure it didn't go anywhere if anything got loose.
Did u have a older more detailed version of this I swear I seen one a long time ago and now I actually try to off-road so wanted to find it again lol 🤘🏽
Upload a demonstration. I just bought an Arcade aluminum 3 ton jack and plan to do this. Planning to do a video on an 18 Grand Cherokee and a 17 Honda Civic.
You can pop up your jack for extra support, underneath the planks forming your bed and around the middle of your tuck bed, if you are planning on any extra activity over night... 😉😉😉
Nice, I like the simplicity! You might like this multi-function jack idea: ruclips.net/video/p36lgh073OQ/видео.html I was also considering a modified exhaust/air-bag jack to work with compressor lines fed to key locations.

thats so cool! Great idea on the mounting!
How did you mount the plate to the jack
How did you attached the slide to the jack? Explain the lugs holding the front of the jack handles, please.
Great idea. People would definitely purchase this from you. Thank you for sharing your plans
Just discovered your channel. I love your ideas, especially the off-road jack. I’m giving it a shot!
Awesome idea! I'll be all over this one. Much less sketchy than a Hi Lift for most applications!
Sweet! I will be adding that to my jack! Thanks for the idea! Great videos! Keep it up!
Awesome! Thank you!

Good old fashioned American ingenuity. 👍
I know it has been a few years but can you give some detail on the front bracket/tab that holds the pipe

I think a skid plate is better than wheels for sure, wheels just dig in until the jack is on its frame anyway
Very cool
Would you lift the Land Cruiser with this?
Was it easy to remove the jack parts/hardware to paint the frame? I like to coat my truck items with bed linner spray paint.
👍 I’m gonna do this for in my daughter’s car
Next time you cut aluminum turn the saw blade backwards and use wd40
You are da man!
That’s genius
what is that rated for? looks so light! my jack is a beast and i would love to pair down for daily driving and keep the big one at home
nevermind, re watched beginning. 1.5 ton
ha thanks man
Can you make the skid for me & send it to me? I'll pay you for the setup lol
