My theory is it's because of his Bipolar disorder. It was mentioned in an interview that he was diagnosed with it. Anyone who knows bipolar disorder will know that it's very heavy mood swings (and more). One minute you're feeling extreme levels of happiness and ecstasy. The next second you're very down and depressed. It can be a trigger or sometimes it happens randomly. Sometimes it's a day to day thing.
Fury has mentioned in various interviews how much he loves boxing as it's his life but he has said in other interviews that he absolutely hates boxing and is fed up with it. I believe he says what he feels in the moment on the day. I believe this explains why one day he's "I'll fight the winner of AJ vs Usyk, Nah I'm retired, I'll fight Derrek Chisora, Nah I'm retired, I'll fight Francis Ngannou, Nah I'm retired."
I just thought it was worth mentioning because I think many people are either unaware of this or have simply forgot. You have to take this into account when we're discussing Fury's behaviour. Just because he made a comeback and battled through his mental health doesn't mean he's not still battling. You'll always experience down days no matter who you are. God Bless.

Great podcast. Totally agree, take what Tyson Fury says with a bucket of salt and tbh I don't think he really truly knows what he wants or means from day to the next(Not many of us do, we just think we do).
I do believe he cares about his nice unbeaten record, I don't think he wants to really risk it and while he has the heart of a fighter and wants to fight again, I'm not sure he believes he has that same hunger anymore that's necessary to get pumped for a huge showdown.
I could be wrong about that of course but I can't see him staying away for very long. In his his defence slightly, he did say after the second fight with Chisora that when he'd "Fight his old buddy Chisora for a 3rd time before hanging up his gloves", so... there is a little bit of reasoning behind this 3rd fight beyond looking for an easy cash grab.

Point is Fury already beat Chisora convincingly twice and that was when Chisora was in his prime and Fury was not at all in his prime. Ah fight fans. The most fickle beings on the planet. Anyway, to a certain extent I agree; or rather I would love to see Fury fight Usyk for multiple reasons, but I also don't feel he owes it to anyone. What so many people fail to grasp is that there will always a new latest and greatest upcoming prospect, and things can only end in one of two ways. You retire on top and Joe Blow will say "Yeah but he didn't fight such and such," or you keep fighting until time catches up with you, with the latter usually ending with the old win-loss-win-loss fade out.
Fury climbed the mountain, he became king, and he walked away. (Props for that?)
After hitting rock bottom, he dragged himself up by his bootstraps and came back, heading right back to the top. (Props for that?) No tune ups, just straight to one of the most devastating power punchers ever. He became the second embodiment of Lazarus in the ring and won that fight (despite the scorecards), then put on two of his greatest performances against Wilder. (Props for _that?)_ Now he may not fight Usyk and you're throwing him under the bus?
We need to learn to appreciate what these guys give us, because that's exactly what they're doing whenever they step into the ring. They're giving us a piece of themselves. It may not matter to you, but everytime they get in there they're risking everything.
God forbid these guys wanna step away, after achieving everything they set out to and more, with their health and reputation in tact.

You see, this is where I see things different than a lot of you and I guess it is probably because I was an amateur boxer and just have more respect for guys who fight for a living. I also played baseball until college as well as high level highschool football. Not saying this to be impressive, just to lay the ground work for boxing/fighting being way tougher than anything else you can do. These guys are gladiators and entertainers. We get entertained on them putting their life’s and bodies on the line. For that reason I cut them a lot more slack in saying what they want to say, as they back it up more than anyone else in sports does. On a bad night MJ, Brady, Trout, ect; all have a team to help out and still win. Have a bad night in boxing and you get embarrassed in front of everyone and end up in hospital. Some of y’all have no idea what it is like to train so hard and then have another man take it all from you in front of others. It’s a crushing experience. So, I think Tyson can say whatever and do whatever he wants. That trilogy against Wilder earned him that. I seen Wilder literally knock the soul out of guys and Tyson shook him off and rose from canvas 4xs to claim the trilogy and stay undefeated. He’s earned right to do what he wants and does not owe your or anyone else anything. What more do you want from him?

I wonder if there’s an element of Fury not getting the amount of people telling him to keep going after he said he was retiring that’s making him think he needs to keep saying stuff to remain relevant. As they say out of sight out of mind. We all know he’ll be back and it won’t be for free either😂

What's it to do with is whenever Joshua has a big fight he comes out with nonsense so attention is on himself. He is like a jealous school girl envious of the most liked popular girl

Fury has been full of it since day 1.
He has talent, but is simply not a "fighting man"... thats all a bunch of promotional nonsense that worked on people who dont know enough about how he operates.
Respect the hell out of fury for what he went through in his personal life, but as a pro boxer is he basically conning the public and im glad more and more people are starting to see that.

I'm a big fan of Tyson Fury. That holiday in France seems to have upset Tyson's equilibrium, hope I'm wrong but if that is the case he needs to stay retired, if on the other hand its just boredom kickin' in, he needs to fight the winner of AJ and Usyk.

It's not that complicated, if Fury wants to be considered the best, here's his chance. Beat Usyk and become the undisputed, lineal heavyweight champion. If Usyk is just a blown up cruiserweight, shouldn't be easy?

AJ already got beat by Usyk and a fat little Mexican, Fury, undefeated heavyweight king, like it or not he is wayyy too much for Usyk and that is the fight that should be happening this weekend but AJ and his rematch clause BS ruined it.
