Ok but who is this surprising. Outside companies have always had to fight tooth and nail to get their product out there and not the product Disney told them to produce, they are egotistical as all hell and if they won’t treat their damn properties right they should fucking liquidate the company. Psychopath Mickey isn’t even a meme or joke anymore, it’s just how we portray this to big to fail company that’s always falling further. He on the highest peak of pride and all.

Unfortunately that is pretty common with these networks, anyone remember Cartoon Network when Adventure Time was ending, they just kept up the Teen Titans Go marathons. With Disney anything truly impressive gets shoved into Disney XD and ignored, happened to Gravity Falls, happened to Amphibia, and happened to Owl House.

At this point, I don't think it would be a good idea (and probably impossible) to change what they're already doing now. But I really hope this convinces them to create some graphic novels to fill out the show more.
It’s far too late to make more episodes of the actual show. We’re already in the endgame since everything was shortened down so if they made more episodes it wouldn’t be coherent
@@Toaster1085. Yes, but maybe we could have spinoffs about Eda's past or the History Of The Boliing Isles (I k now that the show always goes into deep lore on the series, but an ACTUAL full, in order, chronological history of the Demon Realm, but mainly the Boiling Isles, would be just great)

Imagine canceling a show because it doesn't fit your brand and then finding out how popular it is, realizing that you made a big mistake. 'The Owl House' had so much potential and Disney tossed it out of the window.
It IS entirely possible they can reverse course. Give us a proper third season and treat the specials being made... as basically wrap up movies
@@CaptainLunar1994 What's done is done. I don't think they can really change the ending of the show. But the fact that Disney sees its potential now means we could get spin-off shows or movies.

THE LONG LOST BEACH EPISODE?!
If you all remember; season one actually did have episodes that didn't relate to the main story of the series, opting for a centralised story contained in that episode. This just means if they didn't cancel toh, forcing the series to hurry up and conclude, they would of had plenty of episodes to rerun like they wanted
Yeah this is exactly why I don’t buy the whole “the show was too serialized” nonsense. The only reason s2 was serialized is because the writers knew they didn’t have time for filler episodes if they wanted to tell the whole story.

Even if the 'The Owl House' itself ends here, the fact that the higher up learned that this kind of show is very popular could mean that any show like this in the further can have a better shot to get the run time it deserves.
I am convinced more and more each day that the Disney corporation is indeed being run by the South Park version of Mickey Mouse. No doubt Mickey will be throwing a giant, destructive tantrum before returning to Valhalla to slumber and feed.

I think they always knew the show was successful. But because of the constant backlash they received from fans, now they'll state this just to not be seen as the "evil corporation" anymore. If they really meant this...then I say we get all our shows back they canceled. Maybe, a movie perhaps. Graphic novels. Because I know Owl House is ending soon and it's too late for them to renew it so, I say if they really mean this, give us more of it.

Holy literally just watched episode 1 of season 3 and ya, absolutely phenomenal. So happy the show is getting recognition and love. It's an absolute travesty what Disney did, Owl House deserved 4 seasons.

Perhaps it is time for an Indie style of production to enter the stage like with Hellovaboss.. just saying that people who enjoy the show support the show directly and to completion, sure it will be slower but so much better.

Disney needs to realize that a show’s success is no longer measured by ratings or reviews, but by how much fan art of it is circling around online.
Disney owe Dana Terrance a big apology
I'd like to mention that the decision to renew the show for a shorter third season was made in late 2020: in that year, DisneyTV was losing money in revenue for their animated shows due to the pandemic shutting down their primary sources of funds (theme parks, merchandise sales, etc), so they had to cut budgets.
What made them choose TOH was that it's a very serialized show, DTV wants a show like Big City Green or Amphibia where the story is primarily episodic and not serialized. TOH wasn't that. It doesn't help that Dana wanted to make a show for teens and young adults instead of a proper show for 6-11-year-olds. TOH requires people to watch previous episodes to understand what is happening, this makes rerunning the show on TV difficult compared to an episodic comedy where each episode is standalone and can be watched on its own.
So when budgets were being cut, they chose TOH because it was easier to justify cutting a show that didn't fit DTV's brand.
Amphibia survived because it was several months ahead of TOH's production timeline and they were already greenlit for a third season before budgets were cut. So turning back was not an option.
Essentially, Disney cut the show not out of spite. If TOH came out in 2019 or < 2021 on D+ or just any year except 2020, then it would have faired better.
EDIT: Remember one other thing, if Disney hated the show they were paying money to make, they wouldn't have made it, to begin with.

@@multiverse_media2023 there is still a TON of money to be made from movies and live action shows. They’re a corporation, their job is to make money. So of course they’re still going to make movies and tv show, there is a market for those things.
TOH and other DTVA shows make money via ad rev and funds from Disney Theme parks and merchandise sales. So when those got shut down in 2020, budgets had to be cut, given how expensive animation is.

One reason they say they cancelled it was because it was covid and owl house is serialized but it’s harder to run reruns on serialized shows and they were afraid they wouldn’t get as big a return on investment
TOH’s smashing success not disproves that, but I’ve gone on Disney+ to watch random episodes while doing something else. TOH is incredibly watchable and would be viable in syndication

And now people are mad at Little Demon just because Disney owns it. Owl house is forced to tone itself down and still gets cancelled but Disney can put Little Demon on Disney+ in a few countries. I don't understand the corporate Mouse anymore.

Would love episodes showing what the gang has been up to, but the owl house has had to condense so much that we are getting close to the end. Hey all animation directors are making bad choices. Look at infinity train the most requested on HBO max and they cut it half way through the season. At least owl house got 3 season out of 3 while infinity train got 4 season out of 8
