@@jackiebarren210 Wrong. England has no formally written Constitution. The United States had the first formally written constitution, and most if not all others have used it as their model.
@@jackiebarren210 The US Constitutional officially states that rights come from God or a divine creator and are to be protected by government, not given, or played around with by government (unlike other countries). The shortness of the US Constitution is what has allowed for our republic to work so well over the course of 230+ years. For example the preamble of the constitution is only 52 words long and states the goals of the document unlike the EU's constitution which is 293 words long and outlines rights given by government to the people, unlike the US Constitution which has individual rights against the state. How is that not special!

I wish Americans were more relaxed, open, and kind-hearted about their views. As an American who has been to and researched other countries heavily, I do think we are more intense and thus less understanding of the inherent good of people when we get our “big egos” up about our political views. Obviously there is a ton of diversity here and not everyone is like that but the media does a good job of fostering division amongst the people. For example, I think it’s quite normal here to judge someone based on their party affiliation which is absurd. What a great way to keep people from unifying by labeling them and encouraging them to judge others based on political party. I love all different types of people and respect the variety of motives behind various perspectives.

The only accent I can't really understand is Scottish ones, I can understand literally anyone else's except theirs which is interesting. You don't understand English ones though? I mean they really do sound just like the British accent.
I can, it is rough with a lot of them though, especially their slang. The Kiwis and Aussies just flow so much better. I just hate all of the English accents, so maybe that's why.
@@jonmcclane7433 yeah that makes sense, I know they say things differently like how they say "car park" and we say "parking lot", we say "pharmacy" and they say "chemist" and shit like that but I don't understand their slang at all tbh. What's your favorite accent however? One's of my dad's friends is a kiwi and when he came over to our house here in California I thought his accent was pretty cool. Not much different from an aussie accent but to me it's like comparing the Irish and Scots accents how one is much more prominent and rougher than the other.
I'd say, as a nzer, we have 3 unofficial accents, the straight up "pakeha/white", the "islander" accent and you have the thick "hood Maori" English accent. The bro who said he wants to play nfl has a pretty thick Maori one

As a American I grew up living all over the world my father was in the Marine Corps and then after Vietnam War transferred to the US Air Force . The one thing my father taught us boys was to respect people learn their cultures and embrace them as your own family. In 1984 I joined the Marine Corps and have the honor of training with the New Zealand Army , Australian Army. It's how you treat people that change the way people look at your country. Every country has their own history and I can remember pulling into Tasmania and having thousands of people waiting at the pier to great us. Don't fear Americans because the majority of us are just like everyone else we want our own peace and happiness on this small place we call Earth.
Many New Zealanders don't realise just how very lucky they are as citizens of one of the world's best democracies in one of its most beautiful countries.
It feels good to hear the good things they’ve said about us Americans. So many places think American people are cruel & terrible people. I think what a lot of people don’t realize is each state is almost like a country.

I just have to say that the two biggest reasons we haven't switched fully over to the metric system are: 1 - There just isn't a need domestically. We use it where needed, but for the most part, the Imperial system just works as is for us. 2 - Changing all the signage across the country (remember, the U.S. is huge both latitudinally and longitudinally). We just have more important things to sink that money into.
I liked the U.S when I went there... People were a different type of friendly, they liked me cos I was from somewhere else, and they were very interested in me and my culture... but they weren't nice to each other... it made me love being from NZ more...
What surprised me the most is how well they know how we are. The New Zealanders or Kiwis, were pretty much spot on. I like the old guy with the beard especially, because he knows our American history.
I'm actually surprised at how close their accent was to the US/canada. I live in the US, and they barely had an accent to me. It's funny cause their fake American accents were further off than their standard New zealand XD. I guess just as Americans can be pretty ignorant of countries outside of the US, so can other countries. They only know what they hear people sound like in the movies.
i was born in auckland but moved to america when i was an infant 😭 my mom's side of the family is from nz (i'm half māori) so every couple or so years we go back and visit during winter break in america, which is summer in nz 😳xmas & new years in 80 degree fahrenheit/25+ celsius weather was an INSANE culture shock, especially going to the beach. i mean you can still do it in the winter in the bay (california) but people only go there to chill not to swim 💀& racism is very much prevalent but san francisco is diverse asf, no one gives af what color you are. my neighborhood is predominantly asian and white, with some south asians and hispanic families, my high school was half-white, half POC. i go to uni rn at the university of utah, and there are HELLA white people and i deadass think the only ethnicities i saw were mostly hispanic, asians and pacific islanders. most of the black community at the u of u are either from a different country studying abroad, or a student athlete tbh. that was a huge culture shock for me too because i grew up around sm diversity, so i can attest to this. honestly when people try to guess my ethnicity it's either filipina, tongan, samoan or even native american lmao i've legit only met two people who guessed that i'm māori and they were mormon missionaries from australia 💀white people esp in 2023 in america are kinda experiencing like a reverse racism thing rn and it's slowly becoming the new normal, i.e. it's much more normalized ESPECIALLY in american tv shows and movies that white people are uncultured and shouldn't speak or appreciate the cultures of other ethnicities (the so-called colonizer effect) etc., but yeah
That one guy being perplexed on how (he thinks) Americans consider gun violence "controversial", reminds me of that insight Jonathan Haidt has in his book "The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion" where he (a liberal himself) says that American liberals do worse job understanding American conservatives than the other way around. When the liberal doesn't follow the often counter-intuitive nature of the conservative's perspective they'll often think the conservative is supportive of or indifferent to the problem at hand (or at worse think they're evil or stupid) when that's not necessarily true. Of course substitute "liberal" and "conservative" with whatever identifiers your country uses and how they mean it. (I think folks on both sides get things wrong and have things to learn from, not trying to bash one or favor the other)
I visited Auckland and Hobbiton on my trip to New Zealand, then proceeded to Australia. As an American tourist, I would say that N.Z. Is Australia’s Hawaii... in terms of pure Greeness and almost unspoiled beauty. IM NOT TRYING TO START A WAR, BUT I CANNOT HELP BUT SEE IT THAT WAY!!

Totally agree.
Every country has a constitution. The US constitution is nothing special.
Love these interviews. I've watched all of them from around the world. We New Zealanders rock!

From this video I was starting to really like New Zealand but if you say the government is like that of Canada then I'll have to reconsider. Trudeau and the Canadian Parliament are not very supportive of freedoms lately 😞

Excellent video. I love the pace of life in New Zealand and Kiwi attitudes. During my visit there in early 2019, my favorite front page Dunedin headline was "Call to sign wombat privacy pledge and show some selfie respect." This was front page NZ news when U.S. politics were at another ridiculous impasse. I'm happy that Kiwis were focusing on nature instead of covering endless political stupidity in Washington.

The democrat party and media (the same thing) are dividing everyone
If we are politically polarized and intense you can blame it on the politicians for creating sides and then playing them against each other :-(

As a Yank I have such an easier time understanding the Kiwis and Aussies speak. When the Scots and English speak I can barely understand a damn word.
I think English and British accents are practically the same and I understand the British accent especially since I watch British streamers/youtubers so I'm more exposed to it I suppose.
The bro who said he wants to play nfl has a pretty thick Maori one
shyry don't really have a favorite, I like the Aussie and Kiwis that speak English, in America I have a somewhat Southern accent. I just don't like most English accents, but nothing at all against them, I just struggle to understand what the hell they're talking about.

I just have to say that the two biggest reasons we haven't switched fully over to the metric system are:
1 - There just isn't a need domestically. We use it where needed, but for the most part, the Imperial system just works as is for us.
2 - Changing all the signage across the country (remember, the U.S. is huge both latitudinally and longitudinally). We just have more important things to sink that money into.
Hi how are you doing

Lots of people around the world judge the protestors negatively but they don't realize that the protestors are the woke people that see through the bullshit and won't let the government erode their rights.
What you mean by "beaut" btw my friend? I'm not understanding too well sorry😅
