I finally took the time to make this, I love it. I've been meaning to make it since you put this tutorial out(nearly a year ago). I decided it would make a great birthday gift to myself, my 50th. In the 42 yrs since I learned to crochet I have never made anything for myself and I chose this sweater. I love it it looks awesome on me. I used wool-ease, the Dark Rose Heather. Thank you so much.

I made it with stunning yarn which was purchased about 2 years ago, but you know how it is, we buy yarn that we fall in love with but have to wait for the perfect pattern. I have made so many of these cocoons. When people see my nieces wear them everyone wants one. The longer the cocoons the better and sometimes they want longer cuffs. I just sent my daughter's friend in Seattle, who is a new mom one. She can cuddle in this while taking care of the baby.

Terri Miller I’ve made this 3 times using latte cakes and each time it’s been reliably ~ 2.25 cakes. Each cake being 530 yards x 2.25 cakes = almost exactly 1200 yards. I was making mine the same size as this video, i think she said somewhere between 41-43”? So you might be able to cut it down to like 36” and save yourself from having to get that third cake for the remaining .25. Hope this helps!

Judy Jones agreed.... I checked the link, ugh, & it sent me to her store.... and it was the yarn, not the actual written pattern kinda irritating lol

carneyaugustine420 the written pattern is in a link below. you just need to press the small triangle to open up the area to find it

Thank you so much for this wonderful pattern and your awesome tutorial! I am an usher at an large, outdoor theater, and part of the uniform is a black sweater (for cold evenings). I saw so many patterns, and I thought yours was the best, and it is! I made mine in black but made it on the small side to fit the conservative uniform, used 4 different sized hooks, gradually increasing hook size and it fits perfectly! It also feels so good! I now look forward to making one in another color. You are so awesome! I love your joy of this art form, and thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with all of us!

I just finished my version of your cocoon sweater. I love it. I made mine with 2 colors - a deep violet and a dark leaf green. I did 3 rounds of a colir and then switchedcto the other color and did 3 rounds and kept alternating like that. I finished the regular rounds with violet and then did the edging in the green. Even though it looks like an open weave, it is quite warm. Lovevit love it!!! Thanks so much..

Rebekah Hanson I'm really not sure as I'm in Uk and measurements are different but I'm in the process of making a similar cardigan and I've used 600g and it's just about big for a medium size, sorry can't be more helpful x
