Making A Coonhound - Episode 3 - Blue Dog Making A Splash

We're back with Episode 3 of Making A Coonhound! We started this series last month with the goal of sharing our experiences of training a coonhound with you. We are not coon hunting experts but wanted to share our journey with you. We are learning every time we hit the woods whether we have the pups with us or an experienced coon dog.
About this Episode:
Corey, Zach and Corey's brother, Jonathan are hunting hard with the same pups you saw in the previous episodes as well as a new addition. Splash, the 4 year old Bluetick, makes his appearance and shows out. We were given Splash from a customer up North and he is a great add to Swamp Walker Kennels. The handlers and dogs are out getting ready for a competition coon hunt. This episode is filled with action! The final count ended up being 2 singles, a double, a triple and a slick tree. The dogs hunted hard and they are continuing to improve every trip to the woods.

We do! We have the meds on hand for the dogs and the chaps help. Too hot for Snake Proof Chaps but we watch our step. The Gators are more worrisome but we try to avoid those areas best we can.
