I love her response to this and it truly shows in her brilliant performance. And it goes back to what she had mentioned about not being a victim. But there’s still a sadness there given Harper’s betrayal
That’s exactly how I felt when I watched the scene. She’s such a good actress. Perfectly cast, amazing actress. Everything about this series was just so damn good!
Gah-just like I’ve read in comments on the other pairings that Variety put together for this group of actors on actors-this was perfect and so amazing to watch. It’s so amazing to see how truly intelligent both of these young women are, and THAT is what seems to set their acting apart from so many others in the business. I love that this feels like the very beginning of what we’ll be seeing in Fahy’s career-it’s so great that whoever at Variety was able to acknowledge that, despite having had far less experience and not yet being THE lead in her own show yet like Olsen has-she’s still at that same caliber of talent. It was easy to see that in the way that she easily stole the scenes she was a part of in the second half of S2 white Lotus…once the audience got to see that there was more to Daphne than we thought or could have ever expected.
It’s funny my gf & I debated this while we watched WLS2. I always thought Daphne’s disappointment was more towards Harper, than her husband, given their friendship arc. Harper presented herself as someone who was different from and above the wealthy superficial world Daphne & Cameron lived in. Daphne saw this as refreshing and believed she could trust her. She even says, at the beginning of their friendship, she mistrusts female friends because they always end up backstabbing her. At that point in the story D&C come off as rich snobs so that statement feels pompous, but Harper’s actions really shred the last bit of hope Daphne had for genuine female friendship. You can see her processing that devastation when Ethan breaks the news. Brilliant acting by Meghann Fahy.
The funny thing is that there’s a chance harper didn’t sleep with her husband yet she will always believe that she did because of the life she lives. I love the nuance of this show.
I’ve seen this mentality with many couples. I’d rather be lonely than lied to. :/ I’ve played video games and games with friends throughout my life. I’m not playing games with someone I take vows with… but that’s just me.
Oh I agree, she probably thought Harper initially esp with how she was first few episodes. Cameron’s lil boy flirting antics wouldn’t get to her so she finally found a female friend maybe. However, Harper never really showed interest tbh in my opinion. Her mind was on Ethan, their intimacy, lack of trust, and Daphne lil advice that backfired lowkey was like idk devil whispers. Cameron would be the man to get one over Ethan. Like everything about Cameron and his interactions with Ethan that weird game they played (at some point I thought they had a weird cuckholding thing going down btw them). Also Cameron was open & flirting so… anyways I’m writing too much.
I don't think that's it. I believe the problem is that she was wrong about the behind the performance, and the more she tried to follow up on what Meghan was saying, she kept giving the wrong answer.

Meghann should have won every award for that scene. Most incredible subtle acting.

Watching White Lotus and thinking, this lady is going to be a star.

I definitely felt that, she was more upset another friend betraying her than her husband
These women have the bluest eyes.
Elizabeth’s eyes are definitely green.

Her eyes😍
She needs an Emmy for that role.
She’s brilliant and wonderful.
Damn she is soooo pretty ✨❤️
This season of White Lotus gave me so much anxiety.
Imo better than season 1.
Her best acting scene on the show, hands down. Her acting in this scene deserves all the rewards.
What a beaut.
Ms. Olsen’s nose scrunch è bellissimo!
Jej uroda jest niesamowita 💯🌹przepiękna
Great direction for her character that i never would have realized.
Awwwwwww 😭💔
absolutely. fuckimg love her character.
layers, super well intentioned, fucking perfectly executed
EO's stank face is... like same. LOL
If they ever need someone to play the role of Amy Purdy about her life story you would definitely get that part.
❤❤
Wow.

I dig Megan mucho
I thought she was going to say she was disappointed in Harper, who's now a cheater, not even that it was a betrayal of her by Harper.
Are all have veneers?
They definitely fucked.
Elizabeth is so unimpressed

She’s great but I don’t agree with her.
