After Superman rescues Lois, she said, "Who Are you?" He answered, "A friend." That defines the character, both Superman and Clark Kent, and the man, Chris Reeve.
Chris is Superman. Everyone else is just an imitation of Superman. I saw Superman when it first came out in the theater and it blew me away. He made me feel like Superman was real. I will never get tired of watching his Superman movies. Robin Williams is a comic genius and the best comedian to me. RIP guys.
@PopcornHeads3 I'll never forget how my mom brought me to the movie theater and when the beginning of the credits started with that amazing John Williams music building up to those horns going dit dit diiiiiii dit dit dit dit dit diiiiiiiiii. I was already sucked in. Then they didn't show Superman in the beginning. They went on to Krypton and how a baby was sent to Earth and the baby growing up in Smallville while showing little hints of him being super strong. Then later in Metropolis when Lois was in trouble, the great John Williams music from the beginning credits starts to build up again then you get the feeling something big is gonna happen. Then Clark pulls open his shirt to reveal the Superman symbol under his shirt with those horns sounding again had me excited to see it's Superman! Then when Chris Reeve was flying to save Lois, I was in awe. Plus how kind and caring and considerate Superman was and at the end when Chris is flying and smiles at the camera made me believe that Superman is real. And it made me love and admire Christopher Reeve.
Ohh it got me too my friend. I got so emotional, you’ll see at the end how emotional I got. but hey guess what ? Its all for a good cause. We love film and love Christopher for all his contributed.
My husband and I saw the movie on Saturday and it was BEAUTIFUL! Not a dry eye in the house. Christopher Reeve will always be my Superman, and my first love. Such a beautiful man, and beautiful family. This will will stream at the end of November and you’ll love it ❤
Same here and it’s totally ok to cry and feel emotional that’s what film is for. To evoke emotions from us beautiful beings. The purpose of this documentary is to take a closer look into his life and celebrate him. You’re not alone my friend. We’re all here with you.
He is "the real" Superman to me, also. I have nothing against Cavill, or Routh, or Hoechlin, or any of the others, but in my mind they will always be the roles who play Superman because Reeve couldn't.
Come on talk to me!!!!! That’s right !!! I love what the other men have done with the role. All respect to them but there is only one real Superman and always will be Reeve.
@@PopcornHeads3 My 5-year-old has seen Superman 1 & 2 and LOVES THEM!!!! We have to play the theme music in the car (VERY hard to stick to speed limits when it’s on!) and has costumes, stickers, references him all the time etc. As the son of 2 80s parents, Christopher Reeve IS Superman (we went to see the first Henry Cavill one and it was ‘fine’ and he looked a lot like him in many parts, but he just wasn’t ‘HIM’ embodied like Christopher Reeve). I love that for my son he doesn’t have the tragic caveat that we have when we now watch the ‘original’ Superman, and dread when he has to learn what happened, but at the same time it’ll be beautiful for him to know what a superhero Christopher Reeve was in real life🥺🥺🥺🥹🥹 We were at a pub with my best friend a couple of days after Christopher Reeve passed away, and she didn’t know (imagine a time before news being pumped to our phones 24/7!) There was a question in the pub quiz about Superman/Christopher Reeve, with a mention to the fact that he’d just passed away, and my friend just burst into tears! She’s never been a big superhero fan, but as a child of the 80s, Christopher Reeve WAS Superman, and she was devastated that he’d lost his battle and what that meant to our generation! Says so much about the man, let alone the legend❤️
Yes. Chris Reeve was the best Superman. Thank you for taking the time to react to this trailer. I almost forgot this story. This trailer really moved me. 🥲
For me, the 4 best Superman actors are: 1.) Reeve 2.) Brandon Routh 3.) Tyler Hoechlin 4.) Jack Quaid (I don’t care if it’s just his voice, he’s doing a great job)
@@PopcornHeads3 Tbh Cavill never quite gave me that sense of hopeful optimism that I’ve come to expect from Superman. In fact, he kinda gave me the exact opposite. I’m not the biggest James Gunn fan I swear but I hope ppl realize he fought for this project. He also has Chris son in the upcoming Superman movie and think he understands that’s the kind of Superman ppl love.
The confusion may come from the fact that the 1950's TV Superman was played by George Reeves (with an S) and the greatest Superman ever was played by Christopher Reeve (no S).
Christopher Reeve played Superman in the movies from 1978 to 1987. George Reeves played Superman on the 1950s TV show The Adventures of Superman. As far as I know, they are not related.
@@PopcornHeads3 George Reeves had his own tragic life story. He was typecast as Superman and couldn’t get any other roles. He ended up committing suicide. This plus Christopher Reeve’s accident led to claims of a Superman curse.
@@PopcornHeads3 So far nothing of this nature has happened to Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Henry Cavill, Brandon Routh, or Tyler Hoechlin. Does 2 out of 7 (28%) make the role cursed?

That music is a modified rendition of the "Krypton Theme" from John Williams' fantastic score for "Superman the Movie".
