Funny you say that... I just replaced my fuel filter on my Toyota and it was backwards. Lol. I had white tipped spark plugs. I’m assuming the filter doesn’t last as long. But if you open the filter it’s just a piece of paper that filters the fuel. If you go either way I don’t think it matter it’s just maybe just one side of the filter has more volume or so
I asked cause all was fine after replacing it til I filled up ($35.) & gas was leaking from under my car in 2 places. OMG $35. in gas & on E after 62 miles. OK. I checked/re did the fuel pump & tomorrow I am going to jack up car (hate this part) and check my fuel filter direction.
AutOdomer: :) My problem was I had gas leaking like it had nothing else to do but leak ($40. in gas all over the roads). I 'finally' I jacked it up & w flashlight took a good look... OMG I had one heck of a crack in 1 of the filter hoses . Auto Zone guy didn't charge me for the small amt. of hose I needed & all is well now (I replaced both hoses).
OK What happens IF you put the direction of the fuel filter arrows in the 'WRONG' direction and try to drive?
