No More Wires! Cheap & Easy Cable Tray Management Trick | My Modern Minimalist Office Setup Pt 1
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 июл 2024
- Whenever we try to create the perfect office desk setup, we're always hindered by messy cables somewhere along the way. My unique situation requires my wires to be hidden away in plain sight. With my desk facing towards the room, without a wall to lean up against, wires are completely exposed. I need to hide them in a different way.

Totally agree I prefer my desk facing inside the room vs the wall. When I was redoing my office last year it was really difficult finding home offices like that on RUclips for inspiration. Even on reddit it was difficult to find home offices with large monitors not facing the wall. I don't understand why everyone sets up their desks to face the wall.
Thanks. I think for me, I have a little nook opening that just fits the desk. Otherwise, I think most rooms might be a bit small to face outwards.
4:00 You can Iron it the Desk pad with a wet towel in between.
I have the same desk pad and eliminate all the curls because you can still see curls below that desk pad. Is a easy hack fix for people with large pads
I'm a simple man, I see quality Rigid and Milwaukee tools, I hit like.
dude for a channel your size the editing and camera work is actually really really good
Feel exactly the same
Creative way to cover the cable tray.
Some people moaning about the guy drilling a hole into his expensive table top and mousepad.. well, if it suits and looks good for him, so be it! I found it very inspirational indeed and I also prefer my setup facing towards the room rather than the wall, and although I doubt I would bother to go for the same implementation as yes it's a bit cumbersome for just few wires, I found it very neat and nice looking. The end of the day everyone does what makes them feel better about their own space! Nice job.
yeah wow, great audio, music, editing, camera work, the whole lot. Keep consistent and you’ll go far!
I think this is a great idea! I will try something similar for my next desk setup!
I had 5 big extension lead under desk and more than 70 different long cables from my monitors, computer etc, but now I using cable strips and my desk looks so much better.
Damn, for a second I thought you had 263k subs, You will definitely grow fast,
Great video.
Keep it up! Cheers from Italy!!!!
Cutest visitor!
clever use of the j channel.
Very informative thanks!
great idea, give me a lot of inspiration
Very creative and clean
Great video! really inspired me to work on my dorm room setup
Awesome! Thank you!
I'm straight up clicking on this video just to find out why you put that tape on the table.
Great video!
All that work just to hide 2 wires. You're a truly a perfectionist 🤓
That cat got me liking
Awesome vid, you've got a sub!!
Thank you.
good wire management
Nice video
The j channel is A+ solution i will be using one on the back of my desk with a power supply mounted inside for a clean single cable out look.
Great vid - thought the desk light was a bit extra but it still looks nice.
Fair enough!
Be careful with too wide aperture. For exemple, f1.4 does look great but sometimes for shots like 2:30 , we cant see what you are doing. Its small detail but it could help for future shots
Was going to say the same thing. It's hard to resist opening all the way up, but it's rarely best practice for video, especially tutorial based content like this.
Brat gledao Mudju hahahaha, Nice video ;)
I had my velcro straps fail eventually because gravity, I actually just got some low profile wood screws and attached my cable channels with them.
Definitely could use those. I need the Velcro because I would be taking them on and off to make adjustments. Also, some heavy strength hook and loop fasteners is very strong if needed.
Personally not a fan of the solution - just seeing you drill a circular hole in that beautiful table was just cringeworthy - but like the others said, your video quality is outstanding! Definitely excited for some upcoming content and an office tour - you've got yourself another subscriber :-)
Fair enough! Appreciate the feedback
I liked it. To hide the wires in the desk at the headquarters of the Carter Organization the "best marble men in New York" made a hole in the marble desk. The Carter Organization offices were featured as Gordon Gekko's offices in the movie "Wall Street".
Ivan Boesky had a rheostat to control the volume from his trading floor right in the middle of his desk which was also marble.
In the eighties a lot of cabinetry (desks) work was done on Sunday where the union carpenters received triple time.
@@richardhaas39 interesting :-)
@@alexvilain3160 We installed a big market data computer in an office on the second floor of the Carlyle Hotel, (5700 BTU big). NYC building/fire/electrical code requires that all power and signal cable be terminated on 3/4 inch fire rated plywood---this is in the '80's. When the customer found out that there would be exposed plywood in their office they were aghast.
They thought quickly: "Is it alright to put wallpaper on the plywood?"
"Sure."
We installed the communications equipment and cut the cables to length on purple wallpaper with yellow fleur-de-lis'. Once mounted the wires did not move. If you can visualize an othogonal tree of life you can get the picture. Very classy.
Good tips. I like my desk facing inside the office also. Now you give me idea. How about glares, do you get them with the screen facing the window?
Yes, but fortunately it's situated under a porch cover, and I have low glare on the Dell monitor. So it's very minimal, but there will be times I still would prefer to close the shades
That is a super clean setup. Legit I thought you're a big channel, my dude. I'm subbed.
I would have done a different route but it looks like it turned out Ok.
that's clean dude, congrats
super clear video, and how about the window light reflection
My office is in front of porch and monitor is low glare. I will post something in next video
@@DNChromatic cheers cool video there
When a table with a desktop looks better than you:
What cable tray are you using?
new fan from the philippines!
liked for da cat
I plan to redo my office for outer facing desk as well. Question, what do I do about the power cord going to wall outlet?
Depends how close to the wall. This is a small office so It’s close enough I can run an extension along the ground and use cable covers. There was a suggestion to hire someone to do a floor receptacle but that might be too much. 🤔
Very nice, aside from the out of focus shots, don't you get any glare with the sunlight coming in hitting the monitor?
not that much, the monitor does a good with glare reduction.
Great video! But that LED lamp, why? What difference does it make?
None what’s so ever. It can be moved around anywhere since it’s magnetic.
@@DNChromatic where did you get it ?
Where did you get the led light from Bro
It's called AIPOWER LED light, but I think it may be difficult to find now.
Good job :) By the way, what monitor stand do you have?
It's a VIVO single center mount. I listed it in my new video! ruclips.net/video/ZhWrKRSAf6k/видео.html
Hey. Nice video. What iPhone case are you using in the video?
It's an IATO Iphone 11 Pro case, wood with leather.
Good afternoon, what is the name/model of the floor lamp at 1:08 ? Thank you in advance
There are a few variations on Amazon. Here’s a link to one of them www.amazon.com/Decorative-Industrial-Searchlight-Spotlight-Vintage/dp/B07GCJSN52/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=industrial%2Btripod%2Blamp&qid=1613933314&sr=8-6&th=1&psc=1
Also you can find similar ones on aliexpress
What’s the link to the wood thing under the monitor
Check my kit.co/dnchromatic for my desk accessories list
Hey bro, can you tell me where did you get the laptop stand?
I believe you are referring to this one. geni.us/3vOa6
How about the glare for the window
Yes there is, but fortunately it's situated under a porch cover, and I have low glare on the Dell monitor. So it's very minimal, but there will be times I still would prefer to close the shades
nice, how fast is the samsung laptop
Fast enough, but lags in Premiere, from 2018, i7 8th Gen?. Notebook 9 Pro.
Desk pad was ordered from where?
Amazon. Hard to find this size, I can't find it anymore. But will have a full video next with all items listed.
where to find the j channel?
Amazon has lots of them, i think i have it listed in my description or links. 👍🏼
what keyboard?
Check out my latest video for my updated Keychron K3 keyboard. But in this video it was a RK 71.
Very nice well done ✌️What desk is in the video?
The motorized desk frame is from Autonomous, and the wood desktop I got from a local store. I will show more in next video: full office tour.
@@DNChromatic sweet thank you
What keyboard are you using?
In this video the Royal Kludge, RK71. Currently using Keychron K3.
What’s your laptop desk mount? @ 18 seconds in.
Also a VIVO, will try and find a link and post in next video where I do full office tour.
You just made a hole in the table versus putting the cable behind the monitor stand, omggggghggg
Link for mount?
a VIVO single arm mount www.amazon.com/VIVO-Single-Monitor-Adjustable-STAND-V001C/dp/B01CUU2VKY/
Hello there! i'm number 143 :D
Awesome. Thanks for the sub.
Not the ultimate solution for what I was looking for. You could use a wireless keyboard and mouse to prevent extra wires. Besides, you could use chord organizers, cable sleeves.
Nice..... but....you know.... now you gonna have a lot of dirt under that pad lol the tape will make it har to clean it lol
Noted. Will keep that in mind. 👍🏼
Where did you get the led light?
It should be linked in the description. 👍🏼
Not sure if available currently but check it out LED Light from AIPOWER (affiliate link rechargeable, motion sensor) geni.us/MNJlD1
You cant see visitors at the window
That's quite sexy. Cold fusion vibes
Lets just first work hard to buy this expensive table, wooden overlay, monitor clamp, drill machine, metal planks.
A window in the back is the worst thing you can do, if you work by daylight.
Love that monitor! Nice desk too. I'd like to hear him better. Seems like he's keeping his voice low; he should just use his normal voice. Regardless it's a really good video. 😃👍👏
I disagree, the way he's talking and his voice is super nice and makes me want to watch more
@@arthur3545 That's cool. I think I'd enjoy watching more of his videos as well. 😉
I will invest a sub on this channel
The sane thing just hidden. Okay
Too much damage done just for four cables...
the LED thing behind the monitor with no bouncing surface its so weak... almost pointless
How to ruin a really expensive desk and mousepad..
Needed to squint my eyes for the entire length of the video just to see what the fuck were you doing. Please adjust your camera focus.
