In our Italian culinary lesson, we were taught that basil pesto should never be cooked. The pesto doesn't appreciate a lot of heat, so it won't taste very well. Always mix the sauce at the end. However, your dish looks very appetizing 😍
The pesto my supermarket makes tatse really good so ill use that one when im in a hurry, but this absolutely is WAY better. Also, instead of olive oil to bake with, i use the oil of sundried tomatoes which adds a bit more flavour quickly and easily without having to by more product. Then ofc i also use the dried tomatoes onto of cherry tomatoes. Lastly i add some tomatoe puree to the pesto sauce, so good!!
Then its not italian pesto.. You can add anything to anything, but call it something different... There is no pesto with cashew nuts.... Its nauseating to watch
@@paragk6285 I made another pesto recipe with roasted walnuts and lemon. I blended it until smooth in my Vitamix. I couldn't even tell that there were walnuts in it. I did not have pine nuts. Do they give a certain taste to the pesto. They come in such a large bag--I probably would not use them all over time.
I made Basil Pesto Pasta the other night, but to the pasta I added salad ingredients. enjoyed it as a cool meal on a hot day. Your recipe looks so good, thank you for sharing
@Reema Machhya : If you add the pesto at the end you do not heat it that much that the taste is lost , it is only if you do that in such way that you have baked or cooked it that you have killed the taste of your pesto , personally I add the pesto not in the bakingpan but I warm it up by adding some heated olive oil instead and add when all is done , then mix it into the dish you prefer , the heating in this video is not long enough to kill its flavour plus it is done when all baking is done so I assume the heat was already off ?
Where do we get this fresh Italian Basil leaves searched in Mega More and Big Bazaar, not available, could you at least what could we use as a substitute for Basil leaves?

store bought pesto is awful; you must make it at home, but not this one; kaju does not go in pesto, but pine nuts do--must have pine nuts.

You can even use breadcrumbs. It makes it a lot thicker but it's still delicious!
