Top tip for anyone not wanting to burn the basil: stick the blade in the freezer for an hour before doing this, and that way it won't affect the color or the taste of the pesto as the blade remains cold, despite the friction.
😂 It would take a lot of processing to “burn” the basil. Between pulsing the food processor and all the ingredients, you’re not going to “burn” the basil. It’s pesto, not surgery.

I Love basil pesto and this looks so good! In the garden we have a few herb plants and taking care of the basil my dad planted, I will trim the leaves and make my basil pesto fresh with a bit of lemon juice and garlic. Delicious, thank you for sharing

I made pesto with walnuts this summer and it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Especially good with gnocchi. I should have made my own from one of his recipes. I used all of the leaves on my basil plant and had to make up the volume with parsley and it was still really good. But next year I will plant multiple basil plants.
Just watched this for the second time and made it for the second time. It is so good! I actually prefer Walnuts to the pine nuts, but both are delicious! Thanks for sharing this recipe! My basil plants are growing like crazy and this is a great way to use up a bunch at once.

Hi there, I love the food you cook, I always have. I wanted to make pesto for a while but I have a problem myself and a few of my family members are very allergic to nuts. What I used instead was toasted sunflower seeds. The rest of this recipe is the same. To me it tastes fantastic. If anyone out there wants to try that let us all know what you think
