    I wore a traditional pesto, without adding lemon, decided to try his recipe and you are right Gennaro Contaldo , it is amazing! The lemon acidity gives a touch all special. Thank you for sharing!

      Ho aggiunto il succo di limone giusto per sbaglio e ora non so come faccio a coprirlo. Non so cosa mi ha preso ma me ne pento profondamente - non ci sta 😂 Però mi sa che con la pasta al tonno un tocco di limone ci può stare bene. Mo' vedemmo!

    Top tip for anyone not wanting to burn the basil: stick the blade in the freezer for an hour before doing this, and that way it won't affect the color or the taste of the pesto as the blade remains cold, despite the friction.

      😂 It would take a lot of processing to “burn” the basil. Between pulsing the food processor and all the ingredients, you’re not going to “burn” the basil. It’s pesto, not surgery.

    I used to make pesto by simply adding all ingredients at once in the food processor. Today I made it carefully following Genaro's recipe with the addition of each ingredient and boy what a difference it makes. Best pesto I've ever done 😋

    I love this guy. He clearly cares so much about the food and about the flavor and about the feeling and oh I just love watching him cook. He's just like bewildered every time he finishes a dish like he can't believe how good it is, and that's awesome, like every time it's a new adventure. I mean it just makes me want to try it myself! Great presenter

    I Love basil pesto and this looks so good! In the garden we have a few herb plants and taking care of the basil my dad planted, I will trim the leaves and make my basil pesto fresh with a bit of lemon juice and garlic. Delicious, thank you for sharing

    Gennaro is hilarious! His love of food is contagious. My grandmother was from Campobasso, and was a great cook, so since childhood I've know what good Italian cuisine is. You know, like what they serve at Olive Garden.

    I made pesto with walnuts this summer and it was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Especially good with gnocchi. I should have made my own from one of his recipes. I used all of the leaves on my basil plant and had to make up the volume with parsley and it was still really good. But next year I will plant multiple basil plants.

    Just watched this for the second time and made it for the second time. It is so good! I actually prefer Walnuts to the pine nuts, but both are delicious! Thanks for sharing this recipe! My basil plants are growing like crazy and this is a great way to use up a bunch at once.

    Recipe:
    40g basil (2cups)
    1 clove garlic
    Pinch salt
    50g pine nuts
    80ml olive oil. Not too strong
    55g Parmesan
    30g other cheese

    My little boy has nut allergy and this will be perfect so he can taste pesto without the nuts! Thanks for mentioning the nut allergy I was hesitant to try without the pine nuts but now I will! Many thanks!

    Hi there, I love the food you cook, I always have. I wanted to make pesto for a while but I have a problem myself and a few of my family members are very allergic to nuts. What I used instead was toasted sunflower seeds. The rest of this recipe is the same. To me it tastes fantastic. If anyone out there wants to try that let us all know what you think

    In Gennaro we trust! I always buy barilla pesto sauce for pasta which is very expensive lately. But after this video I made a decision that I should try Gennaro's recipe to do it. It looks awesome.

    Ah, Amalfi, there was a time a millenia ago, where that city was greek to the bone, at least today is italian, small difference...Perfect recipe for pesto, I'm gonna make it, cause I like pasta a lot, and of course like a common greek, I like lemon everywhere so I'll add that ingredient too, thanks for sharing Gennaro!
