Not only has this lady been blessed with the most beautiful voice and wonderful singing talent I have ever heard in my life, but she obviously an extremely talented pianist as well. JUDITH DURHAM’S MUSICAL TALENTS ARE TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ASTOUNDING!!!.
What a star! I've loved her and The Seekers since childhood. Just lovely, talented, generous, with an unerring faith. She'll be the brightest star in the firmament now. 💖💖💖🌟🌟🌟
Just look at how her face lights up playing the music she loves, just Judith having fun for herself, and we get to enjoy her happiness! I am sitting here listening to my new LP, (vinyl) Judith and the Hottest Band In Town! Love you forever lady! As Jimmy and Robert wrote "Thank You"
Since I was a teen in the 60s, I've always liked the Seekers' folk music. But up to now, I never saw Judith play piano. As a ragtime piano player myself, I was very delighted to watch this video. She is indeed very versatile. Thanks for the wonderful performance!
I loved Judith Durham back in the 60's, and still today. She's an amazingly talented artist. I still listen to the Seekers, my favorite group - so glad they got back together for reunions. Hard to believe they're in their 70's and still sound great! Amazing!
God gave Judith wonderful musical talents and she has used them well, may she long continue, excellent singer and piano player. What is more, she enjoys it, well done Judith. I know what I want from a friend of mine to give me for my birthday, a CD of your music
In the early 60s, I used to travel to Albert Park to see Judith with Frank Traynor’s Jazz Preachers. This video reminds me of those early times. Great!
John Pinney : - so did I as well as sitting and chatting with Judy (as she as known to me in those wonderful days) during her 'breaks'. A lovely girl and we are still friends 60 years on.
I could just hug this lady....great singer and pianist, looking like she relishes every moment of this performance. she kicks ass on Maple Leaf like it's nothing.
Question to myself, why oh why haven't I been listening to the Seekers before now? I grew up listening to easy listening music through my late mum and dad and I knew about The Seekers but I veered towards more heavy rock music but I secretly enjoyed this music too but was afraid to admit it. Judith Durham has the best singing voice ever, her piano playing is awesome. Oh how I wished I could have seen The Seekers live. Hey hoo, I have RUclips now to accommodate me now. Great video too.
Through the wonders of RUclips a lot of us are discovering and rediscovering Judith and the Seekers (and other good, wholesome music)...and just at the right time too. We need it!
I have been a fan of Judith and the Seekers since the early 60's and it don't get much better than this. So called celebrities today should wake up and smell the coffee. I have this DVD and it's worth every penny.
What a privilege to hear that voice, edifies my soul and her love of musical performance, perfect practice makes perfect! Thanksgiving to Judith's God too!
Supreme understated talent! There will never ever be another Judith Durham! Sadly, I've not met Judith, but those I know who have, have confirmed that she is just as lovely as she always appears to be.
Interesting how JD wears her glasses for Banana Rag then doesn't use them for Maple Leaf Rag. I guess just playing the latter by memory. Beaut to watch and hear.
Could we credit the rest of the band? Like everyone else, I could watch and listen to JD for ever, but I'd like to know who they are: is it Athol and the other guys?
This was part of a solo tour of Britain by JD, the other members of the Seekers not being involved. This particular performance was at the Royal Festival Hall, London, on Judith’s 60th birthday, 3rd July 2003. Don’t know anything about her support musicians.
Further to my previous comment, her support musicians were two keyboard players who could reproduce any required instruments on their synthesisers. I believe they were Australians who had travelled with her to the UK, and also were used on other JD and Seekers tours.
Actually, I think it's just about right. The score marking is "tempo di marcia" which means "march tempo". This is not one of the later, more contemplative Scott Joplin rags that say 'slow' or 'very slow' march time, at all (like "Wall Street Rag"). Also, Joplin's indications to play his later rags slow, were fairly unusual for the time. I can only think of a dozen or so other ragtime composers who indicated in their scores (and/or in interviews) that their music should be played fairly slow, as opposed to dozens or over a hundred other ragtime composers with either no tempo indication, a faster tempo indication, and/or surviving audio recordings of them playing that show generally more upbeat tempos for their rags. The 1906 and 1909 U. S. Marine Band versions of "Maple Leaf" on Victor records, are probably definitive in terms of tempo, unless an audio recording of Joplin playing it is ever found. I would imagine that group, if anyone, would know what 'march tempo' means!!! : ruclips.net/video/NYeGbtV5gsU/видео.html
@@andrewbarrett1537 Besides, it's now such a well-known piece that people play it in all sorts of tempos, as they like; here Judith is obviously playing from memory (took her glasses off after the first piece) as one of her party pieces - and her obvious enjoyment, both during and after, is worth any technical incorrectness of tempo. She's just having fun - and sharing it with us!
This is great. Simply wonderful. A beautiful lady and performance to be remembered always.
what a beautiful smile!
like a little girl♡
Beautiful lady. So humble.
Guess I'll watch this whenever I'm missing her

Oh Judith. We'll never find another you. 💔
She always seems to enjoy herself. Fun to watch as well as listen to.
Let's get a million views for this special lady
Judith is a beautiful woman and extremely talented musician and vocalist. It's easy to see that she enjoys herself performing.

She played Maple Leaf Rag when the Seekers broke up at their last concert in the 60s. It’s just as great here.
Right. This time we get to hear it without those silly noises from the boys.
Here's a woman at one with herself and her amazing talent. Absolutely fabulous.
Not only does she sing like an angel, she plays piano like Scott Joplin!
Since I was a teen in the 60s, I've always liked the Seekers' folk music. But up to now, I never saw Judith play piano. As a ragtime piano player myself, I was very delighted to watch this video. She is indeed very versatile. Thanks for the wonderful performance!

Judith conducting a master class in early traditional American jazz...as well as being our traditional Aussie sweetheart!....Love ya precious ❤Canada❤

Gosh, this is amazing. Generally, ragtime sounds like someone with three hands playing the piano, but this even beats that.
Judith is phenomenal vocalist and singer. Her voice is BEAUTIFUL
wonderful such a Lovely Lady
I could just hug this lady....great singer and pianist, looking like she relishes every moment of this performance. she kicks ass on Maple Leaf like it's nothing.
Amazing talent. Truly a gem of Australia & the world!
Judith is blessed with so much talent. x
we will always love and remember Judith Durham.
She is beautiful when she sings, bus she looks positively radiant when she plays the piano !
She was always beautiful, all the time. God, I miss her. So glad there are so many recordings of her.
Beautiful lady, inside and out. I’m so glad we have these recordings.
Judith Durham and the Seekers, what a great group together. I hope you are all getting on, as time and tide meets for no one. Best wishes to you all.

RIP Judith.
Judhit D. Que Talento y que voz. Con razón modulas tu canto con tanta perfección. FELICITACIONES MIL.... 🙂
I'm a sucker for Scott Joplin and Judith Durham gets it.
What a wonderful talent this girl had/has?!
Oh yeah! She's having fun!
Amazing talent.
Too much talent to have it wasted on the philistines of the world of 'pop'. Most of them never knew what a jewel she was.
What a pretty smile. Bet she grew up a prodigy.
Hard to believe that this young lady fronted The Seekers for so many years! MAGIC!!
Way to go, girl!! :)
WONDERFUL :-)

Damn, I didn't know she played piano too!
bixntram yes a very talented lady. Her piano playing under-utilised.

I think so. And if you look she is not looking at the music, just the keys, so she doesn’t need them.
Мне понравилась такая импровизация.
Is "Banana Rag" an original by her? It's very good.
She wrote Banana Rag, along with It's Hard to Leave. Very talented woman. God bless her.

She is a wonderful pianist, but the tempo she plays maple leaf rag at is far too frantic for ragtime.

@@andrewbarrett1537 I don't agree Andrew her Maple Leaf Rag is far too fast to dance to.
I wish people would learn to play the Maple Leaf at a reasonable speed. This is Much too fast.
Yes! Wonderful!
