Ford Performance vehicles such as the Ford Focus ST, Mustang, Fiesta ST, etc come with what is called a sound symposer that is easily removable with a "sound symposer delete" - when I first got this car I thought why don't I hear much turbo noise/engine noise like other ST's ive ridden in. Then I realized that this car I purchased used already has a symposer delete. So my immediate reaction was that a sound symposer has to be a good thing! But come to find out after putting one back on... I was wrong. It created a really annoying drone in the cab. No thanks!

Get a turbo smart blow off valve, I recommend it!! I got it on my 2017 Ford Focus st2 and it makes the driving experience so much better and fun in my opinion!! Also draws more attention!!

I haven’t gotten to the point of buying one yet on my st but I’ve heard that the reason a lot of people upgrade the intake piping is for in cabin turbo noises/being able to hear the blowoff without an aftermarket BOV. Just a thought since I know you like a lot of noise. Would love to see a water-meth kit install once you start getting closer to full bolt ons.

I got rid of mine in anticipation of installing an oil catch can. Haven't installed the catch can yet, but listening to the radio and conversing with my wife are easier now.
I deleted mine and I love it, sounds so much cleaner and quieter....and a little bit more classy (I think.) Haha
Yup, my ST is stock but I still deleted that shit lol. I like removing stuff that just takes up space anyway.
I haven't fully looked at mine.. 2018 ST here.. Does it use that hose as another intake? It looks like it does from how the video plays. but there is no filter for that? I'm confused.. isn't that part of the intake under pressure from the turbo? That hose cant carry pressure so.. Im lost as to how this thing even works.
@@Napster60 it just carries engine noise into the cabin. Not an intake. There's a block off plate you can get from steeda or boomba
When you took the "valve" out you introduced a boost leak. The pressurized side is open to air. With the "valve" on its just a diaphragm that acts as a drum almost and makes the sound that enters the cabin. You, by removing the resonator, were just pumping boost air into the firewall.
When doing symposer delete, They give you a block off plate that’s bolts on, there like 30$
I think once you upgrade the exhaust, the delete souls come into play.... I'm still stock on my 2017 FoST, but will do the delete once I upgrade my exhaust, just because I don't want it to sound like two different entities, if that makes sense

Did urs have a gurgling noise?? I just unplugged the wires for my Sound Symposer earlier today and now I’m getting a gurgling noise on idle.

People delete it when they tune their car because that's a weak point that is very prone to have boost leaks since it cracks under more boost. I deleted mine the same day I bought it.
Isn't it just noise why would you leak boost?
@@warpanda11it's connected to a vacuum source, the plastic is cheap and tends to crack over time, specially if you run more boost.

Al-la my symposer on my 2013 ST-3 had a torn diaphragm. £130 to replace it (did it myself, the new part is expensive). It's a spare part now though as I have a Cobb symposer delete on the car I use to provide the boost solenoid on the valve cover/head with a true boost source; boost gauge works properly with that and car is slightly more responsive seeing as sensors see more info.

What if you run the true vacuum line? Do I have to have aftermarket BOV?
I deleted it very early on and now with full stage 3 and a tune i get plenty of intake noises with my cp-e intake
I'm sure if you change the type of tubing for an aftermarket one you'll have another type of sound. Please suggest the type of tubing that would make a good sound instead of the plastic tubing ford plugs in to the symposer.

Well atleast you tried it but definitely not a good sound especially with exhaust mods id suggest you get a bov for more noise straight vta some ppl get annoyed but its fun

Is the sizing on your shirts the same as everywhere else or is it like if someone normally wears a large they should get a medium or if they wear a medium they should get a small. Curious about buying a couple shirts from you and i don't want to end up buying it and it not fit and then be out money.

Seems like it's an "allowed boost leak". I've seen some say that deleting it will increase boost by a tiny bit.
Yeah I’ve read that. I assumed that was the main reason people do the delete.

So all the comments about increasing the turbo noise is false. A blow off valve will definitely let you hear the blow off of the pressure a lot louder, but the stock bpv is prone to causing boost leaks also when you start increasing the performance.
If you are really serious about wanting turbo noises then I’d suggest for you to preload the wastegate and get a custom tune from jstperformance. And you’ll get a great deal of a performance benefit from preloading it (holding peak boost a little longer, not having boost drop off as quick, and you can get 25-26psi of boost which you’ll be able to hear 😂) I can hear my turbo spinning even at idle like this.

What happens?
It’s a bearing sound that comes from I think the idler pulley on ALL ford focus’. Sound comes from front passenger side. I need a fix and no one has thoroughly addressed this problem and address the downpipe bracket that breaks on all foST’s
@@evancurole7120 if you are talking about the odd noise that all focus' have when idling, thats not the "idler pulley". The sound you are hearing are the loud ass injectors our cars have. Its very normal, sometimes may increase a bit in volume over the years tho. Nothing is wrong with them, just a little noisy

Any fix on this yet? I know exactly what he’s talking about, and the noise will either go away or lessen with the A/C on(either puts more tension on pulley or just the raise in rpms gets rid of it.) I saw somewhere that a certain type of oil got rid of it but idk if that’s true
I just took delivery of a Focus ST and a previous owner deleted it and I'm annoyed. I actually liked the sound and now I have to reinstall one. I personally can barely hear the engine without it.

How is that valve controlled ?
Electronically from one of the computers. Deleting it will cause your car to throw an error code. That error code can of course be ignored, but if you're obsessive about having zero error codes, when deleting just remove the pipes, cap off the source...but leave the now orphaned valve in place to keep the computer happy.
I think the symposers got a lot of hate thats why people wanna delete them, but tbh i thought it was artificially making sounds not amplifying them... so imma keep mine

@@bibijay1217 personally i would be a bit concerned that you are saving 5k by getting a newer focus st. Normally a 14 would be cheaper than a 17 unless the 17 had issues and/or high mileage

First part I got rid of lol
It s waste of time, bigger exhaust kills spoil noise. Only way I got good spool noise was from a 6 inch diameter with a 6 inch bell reducers. The filter came of my sonic lt 1.4 cold air intake for turbo model, cal fab or mab fab , can’t remember. I fitted inside the box no lid, crazy loud spool and blow off.
I left mine on , it is not fake there is no electronic sound it is more or less like having a stethoscope on the intake box
So this is an old video. I get it. Most pizzas have the same amount of slices between medium and large.
Also! there are 8 slices per pizza no matter what size it is.

Generally always 8 slices a pizza regardless of size. You were probably asking how many servings. In which case a medium is 2 people comfortably, 3 people questionably. Probably want to add a wing or cheese bread.

nice video. thing is, that there are these things called birds, and making a f*&l load of noise, you kill them. then, all you have is car noise aka a shit world, so better mod your cars to make them quiet, else you kill things and make life miserable for all the other creatures that happen to live on this earth, inlc. us. be sweet to see that happen, its way harder to make things powerful and quiet than inefficient and noisy, so theres a challenge.
