For those who knew what Blackpool was like many years ago its tragic how it is now.All places are now trashed and nothing like they were in the glory days.We have our memories and nobody can trash those.
Like so many great iconic landmarks and destinations of providence in this country its been allowed to become rundown and tired looking,....it saddens me to see how its become , as I child growing up in the 1970s, I had some wonderful times visiting there on day trips during the summer holidays ,....it was this magical place,...a kaleidoscope of smells, colours and sounds,....it was pure joy and excitement to visit in those times,...and my golden memories I spent there will remain treasured with me forever,....lovely times
Blackpool used to be a wonderful place and it's a pity that they have been left to rot, those who live there deserve so much more. Great upload and a important look into how it used to be, thank you.
Yeah, have to agree, Blackpool was a magical holiday place for all the family. Its still worth a visit, But the old magic is somewhat lacking .You will never beat the 50's & 60s here, when the journey, both coming . and going , was just as exciting.I love the old 60's holidays. you can keep your plane rides to Spain, this was were it was AT.
Grew up there in the 50s and 60s. Left in 1971 never to live there again. Some good memories but the town has become very run down mainly due to cheap flights in the 70s
On holiday every year in Blackpool with mum & dad during 60s/early 70s. The shows, the attractions all wonderful. Such happy memories.

You always had a Pak a Mac in your pocket
You needed it, I can remember my one trip to the Blackpool illuminations in the 60s and it was pouring with rain.
Thank you ❤

Miss the 60's, miss the old Blackpool too ! Its not quite the place it once was, But maybe I'm wearing my rose tinted specks.
