Amphibian downpour does have storm on it's own, without the commander's help... I think? I would play it either at the beginning of my post-combat face so the next instant or sorcery has one more storm copy, or the other way around so A.D. has one more copy.
Stormsplitter does not get additional copies of itself from storm. It is only when you "cast" an instant or sorcery. Storm copies are not "cast," they go directly onto the stack.
Not to mention that Wolverine's double damage stacks with double strike, meaning he can do x4 damage, with half of that being first strike. AND it also stacks with damage doublers and triplers like fiery emancipation. If you have double strike and a triple damager, he can deal lethal with only a single +1/+1 buff. That's a grappling hook with a surprise fiery emancipation the next turn and he one shots.
Might just focus on making him unblockable rather than big, and have the damage doublers bc the main strat due to the stacks that can occur! Very interesting commander indeed
And Kediss helps a lot killing everyone else, it doubles twice so even if it's not commander damage for the others, it's a LOT of damage. Invigorate+berserk/double strike thing+kediss is 24 to one player, 48 to the others.
MaRo: "Storm is the reason it's called the Storm Scale. We aren't going to print it again." Whispering MaRo: "Unless it's on our premium products so we can exploit you."
Given that you have to commit your spells main phase 1 and then connect with Storm, she really rewards the opponent for having removal, because you'll be out of gas! But also seems like one of those connect and win commanders. Glass cannon, maybe not all that fun after playing once.
I think even then she's super good. Just getting 1-2 copies off of any given spell is more than strong enough. Say M1 Big score -> that blue instant that draws 1 and gives unblockable -> swing with your commander. That's a storm count of 2, skyshroud claim for 6 lands? Triple Abrade? Oh I know! Fact or fiction three times! Lookin like she'll be quite strong. Can't wait to run her!
@@teacupkoala175 absolutely. And she's in simic, which has extremely efficient protection. Definitely a kill on sight commander, don't know if I'll play her cuz of that honestly. If I was playing against her im holding up removal for the instant she touches the board.
Storm: Cast one ritual or cantrip. Finale of dev/Chord of calling/neoform/eldritch evo/whatever I may be forgetting. GG’s Just find an A+B Thoracle and leveler for instance. Or get the storm count to 2 by casting a Manamorphose and like a ponder or strike it rich. Now you can tutor for any number of game ending combos; Kikki Jiki + Hyrax or pestermite + witty roastmaster (any impact tremors or sac for damage type effect) Or Kinnan + The mage that finds basalt mon + walking ballista Storm turns any to battlefield tutor into a one card win con. As well as just giving tons of value. She’s basically a value engine and a combo enabler so she def will be cedh-able
This whole set is over power crept garbage that should never have been printed. Thoracle isn’t Magic either, it’s a cheat code to an easy win. This set is my and many longtime players’ farewell to Commander as it’s now singleton Vintage glass cannon crap and price gouging levels of expensive.
Would finding both Thoracle and leveler work? Both are ETBs that would go on the stack before the other tutor resolved. So you would have only one of the creatures and no wincon
@ ooh I see what you mean. It doesn’t just spit both into play at once. So if you did the leveler first your thoracle would be gone. If you did the thoracle first though??? I think it still works??ETB on the stack then the leveler comes out. You resolve leveler trigger first… GG’s? Realistically you don’t wanna play two dead cards in a cedh deck though it was just an example. Maybe it’s better to just plan a 3 card win con. Some kiki jiki line that can work aside from the storm plan. And maybe the Kinnan thing since it’s a good card on its own?
I opted a different route with my storm deck. Instead of extra combats or extra turns I just went for something like balefire and instead of the free running ramp card I use Open the Way with things like Amulet of Vigor and other things that untap tapped lands. Goal of this version is on kill turns I use the storm count to cast ritual spells like seething song and mana gyser. Definitely going to pre-order the storm one because not only is she a different deck style that I sorely need cards for in paper but she is also one of my favorite marvel characters so her being contested is definitely going to be the likely story. Added a lot of extra protection and even added ice storm and cleansing wild fire as ways to make sure I can stay ahead.
shes definitely cool, sucks its a bit of hoops to jump through to get 1 spell to storm off however. Aside from that, needs more equipment to ensure she connects. I added whispersilk, brotherhood regalia to guarantee connections no matter what.
Storm and Ironman are definitely the ones I’m interested in. My Xyris deck is already pseudo storm so having a temur commander that can’t facilitate the same thing but more focused sounds awesome.
I think Magic is perfectly ready for this secret lair drop: Storm is just going to get stuffed into the “If you play this outside cEDH, you’re a pubstomper” category.
Question about Storm, and especially its interaction with Stormsplitter: does the storm mechanic copy or cast the spell? does that matter? what I mean is if I storm a Manamorphose, does each casting of it count as a casting for Stormsplitter to make a token or does it count as a copy? Does a copy made by storm count as a cast trigger?
is there a reason Green Sun's zenith is in the deck? there's only 1 green creature to fetch with it. Temur is also my favorite, can't wait to test this deck out and find new broken shit to do with it.
For a deck that hinges so entirely on the commander, theres a lack of protection outside of counterspells. Additionally, flying or reach blockers pose a problem. Some amount of unblockable and hexproof would go really far in this list. Cutting Sol Ring for Lightning greaves Cutting Amphibious Downpour for Curse of the Swine And definitely finding a way to fit Doppelgang in here
Will definitely be adding more way to protect the strat, as a deck that has yet to be played it's hard to tell how much will truly be needed but we shall see and make changes once I get the reps in
Stormsplitter only copies itself from you actually casting, not storm copies. If you plan on winning with Stormsplitter, you need a ton of mana, and extra combat trick in hand, and a ton of cantrips to get to your proposed wincon. A fog effect folds this easily so this isn’t realistic at all imo
Yes stormsplitter only copies on cast and not copy, but this deck DOES make a ton of mana. Tons of ways to play a bunch of spells and generate more mana. Fog effects are not very common at all so I wouldn't be worried too much about that.
Sadly, with how simple, yet powerful her effect is, she will be added to those decks that have a "Solved" decklist... where pretty much everyone agrees that playing the deck with List A. is outright better than playing with any other list. I don't know about everyone else, but I stay away from those decks because most of the deck building agency is done for you & since they are strong commanders, everyone assumes when you lay the commander on the table that you are automatically playing the list they heard about that can kill the table by turn X. She will become another Exta Turn spells - Edric, Spymaster of Trest or Narset, Enlightened Master with a never-ending combat step.
you forgot mirror room / sakashima thousand face / sakashima the Impostor / Irenicus's Vile Duplication / Quantum Misalignment / roaming throne for storm not to mention the OG combat combo of aggro assault are : Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient / Savage Ventmaw / Nature's Will / Old Gnawbone 😂😂😂😂
Great video, Kinda unforgivable that these weren't full decks for these prices, and for making this exclusive and not print to demand. IDC if it's Disney, they can't get away with these prices, when the Warhammer decks cost the same. It's p irresponsible to be glazing this product without this context.
I'm most certainly going to make Storm my new Temur deck for EDH. I've already given up care for the ban list, so when she most certainly gets banned it'll be funny.
im not convinced about your storm build. looks very glass canon to me. you commit your hand before combat and get the payoff only if she connect. Imagine playing 3 cards, declare combat, and she take a removal, or just a flash blocker. You'r now 3 cards and 1 whole turn of vallue behind. With that logic, i'd go for a build lower to the ground, and cut most of the "Big mana payoff" and build more arround those small cantrip that can both enable and be payoffs for storm. those you named in video are fine. additional combats phase isn't bad, but idk if you can afford them. i'd rather keep more deckspace for protections.
I thought that multiple copies of a single extra turn effects only result in one extra turn because they don't stack. they all say "after this one" not "after this or any other additional turns"
I’m sorry. But storm is just going to be the next narset. Storming extra turn spells and extra combats. Sad. But be honest with yourself. This will be no more playable than narset. You’ll get to go off and and win a boring game, or just get hated out by your three opponents.
@@mfmageiwatch Well as Mark Rosewater stated. Since there are no set boosters anymore, there is no spot for the list cards where the universe within cards are usually printed. Therefore they don't plan to reprint secret lair going forward currently.

It's only on cast, but since the effect is exponential we cast plenty of spells to use the effect well enough
Seems very cool but very like narset, the best thing to do is extra combat/turns. It might become kind of kill on sight
Storm is definitely the most interesting commander out of this bunch.
Reading the card explains the card. You can’t storm a creature with Storm’s ability
What are the odds that Storm's effect is gonna make Flusterstorm and/or Whirlwind Denial into must-buys for blue?
to make storm your commander you have to add it to the main body of the deck, then set her as your commander from there
Ahhh I see!!
I‘m an Azorious player and never played Gruul but the Wolverine Commander seems super sweet
I am just wondering how this Deck will draw enough cards

Which one of the combo cards would you exchange for something else to make the deck have no infinite? And what would you exchange it with?
