Quick tip: If you press the wiper button once to wipe the windshield, a quick settings pop up for the wipers appears on the center console (over the lower left) - While that pop up is up, you can either interact with it directly on the screen, or if you don't want to look at the screen, use the steering wheel left scroll wheel, you can bump it left or right to adjust the wiper settings. The bump control only works while the quick access pop up is displayed. Also to note, if you are listening to music and are accustomed to using your left steering wheel control for music (scroll up/down for volume, bump left right for track) - The wiper pop up will supercede access to the music controls in favor of letting you adjust the wiper settings.
I have a 2022 model y long range with 27k miles on it.
I love it! Even with the super cold in the Midwest I was smart with my charging via my charge point home charger. Quiet, quick, super technology, almost zero maintenance. LOVE the minimalist design! All good!
I’m taking it to Arizona in 3 weeks. My wife has a 2021 model 3 and we took it to Arizona and back in February of 202 and had no issues with charging! 100%.satisfied to date.
Bought mine about 6 months ago. Still very pleased despite all the Tesla haters esp on RUclips saying everything negative about it. Owned and driven a dozen make of cars over decades and guess what, I love owning n driving a Tesla.
To control the passenger air flow/on off, you utilize the split function button and then the passenger can control the air/heat in whatever manner they wish.
For the autopilot speed limit jerkiness, you can offset the speed in the settings, and I've found it works extremely well. Under autopilot in settings try using +11% offset. The speed limit data seems well in my area, but it's going to vary everywhere. One issue is that it doesn't ramp up the car speed when going on a highway ramp which is really annoying if someone is behind the car.
Also you can use voice commands to do almost anything in the car and it's very accurate, just click in the right wheel button to activate voice commands and say "navigate to ...", "open glove box", etc.
Hi, I had laugh, when I picked up Model 3 just 2 weeks ago, it was waiting for me with the hazards on, like you I could not find the switch, I said to myself you can’t be that dum, in the end I had to go back inside the building like an idiot and ask how to turn them off.
My first impressions were virtually the same as yours, not having key is great, when I get to my destination my hand goes up to the column to turn the engine off, same for the shifter, the experience is so different, can’t see me going back to a gas car.
Thanks for a great video.
Never an issue with range, you can drive and each map give you percentage you’ll be at when you hit a charger.
Congratulations on your new ride. You can also control most functions through voice control. Watch a lot of RUclips videos on tips and tricks, and you'll learn a lot.
Probably the most underrated feature, I have tried to switch to voice commands wherever possible.
That floating tennis ball is amazing
I couldn't wait to pick up my 2023 Model Y Long Range on June 23rd 2023 built in Austin Texas, and is in my opinion the best SUV in the world. The interior of the Model 3 for me was was just too cramped.
I am waiting for my Cybertruck which I am looking forward to its delivery very soon. I live on a very large Ranch which the Cybertruck will serve me well.
Great video! I had the same experience when I picked up My 2023 model y performance. Build quality was great and it took a bit to adjust to all the features of the car. Only part I wish I knew before buying was how bad the winter range is. My car only gets 110 miles from a 90% charge down to 0%. I have to supercharge twice a week. I rent (hopefully buying a home soon) so I don't have a home charger but I can see how amazing it would be to just wake up to a full charge everyday. Regardless it's the best car I've owned. It's a blast to drive and it super comfortable.
It youre in cold climates keep your max charge around 70%. When outside temps start creeping down to the zero range go to max 90%. Keep tires properly inflated and opt for the 19 inch wheels with covers. 240v is pretty much required. 120v is barely enough to even keep the battery warm in subzero temps. 240v at 15a at subzero will charge like its 120v.
To really baby the battery, try to keep it charged at 50% unless you plan on driving over 100 miles that day. Lithium batteries are happiest at 50%. Love my Model Y, by far the best thing I've ever owned, plan on keeping it 20 years. Best sound system, and technology of any vehicle in existence. I can't live without sentry mode, dog mode, and camo mode.
I'm going to rent one to see how I like it.
Lol same cause I be seeing people with they sun glasses on lol 😂😅😅 maybe the Tesla is fun
That's exactly what I did. Minutes after returning it, I ordered my own model 3. Best car I've ever owned!
It’s a much better experience with home charging - really maximizes the convenience.
You can access owner's manual on the Tesla aps on your phone, and from the main screen in the car for all features. But Google for a particular feature is faster. You can use voice commands for many features as well by long press on the right button and speak clearly on anything from turning on the wipers, to fan speed, to navigation, etc. Just experiment what you want the car to do by starting with a verb like "navigate to..." "activate wipers".
Thanks 4 explaining how to get the windshield sprayer to work manually 😊.
Welcome to Tesla. Many of the things you said “you must go into center screen” to use can be accessed via voice commands.
Also you can pull down icons you want quick access to out of the menu and down to the bottom tool bar.
The kicker is wait until you go back to a ice car and start reaching behind the wheel to put it in drive. Give yourself a month they are so much simpler to drive and have features than no other cars have. My only gripe is its can't detect when cars are coming when i back out of my driveway since they removed the sensors. They almost did it in their last update but its still doesnt work like other cars with the sonic sensors. Other rhan that its a great car. Congrats on the new ride.
Welcome to the EV Kingdom! A very useful video for all first EV buyers of any brand--says this 2019 Kia Niro BEV owner
I have a model 3 and for the climate control I have a split button which can have one side on and one side off or even both sides on but at different temps not sure why yours doesn't have it.... oh and you should enable wifi on your Tesla so when they're are updates it will do it when your cars at hime
Great review. Love that your shoes match the floor mats, lol
If you press the button for the windshield wipers then the conteols for them pop up in the card on the screen. Also if you long press the right scroll wheel you get a lot of options. The turn signals are like BMW. Turn on auto off signals its much better.
Great overview!
Most people get fixated on having to do "EVERYTHING " through the screen but there are VOICE COMMANDS for commonly used things. Press and hold the right steering wheel button to activate. Like open glove box or I'm cold.
Open Butthole is my favorite :D
If you press in and hold the right up and down scroll to bring up the voice assist say” open glove box” and now you can easily open the glove box ☺️
And to keep that shinny color, please do PPF and NanoTec on it
Don't know yet when it going to happen, but I want one of these. Actually a model Y. Nice video.
Alot of that you can make quick save settings for the screen bar apps. Just make one for the wipers and whatever else you want. Plus there are 3rd party install devices that help .
I have been interested in getting the SEXY buttons they sell just to have a one touch easy access
This is a great video & very well presented!!! Where did you get the floor mats from? 😊
I did a video coving my first buys, they are a really good knock off of a great brand
lol did the same with the hazards when I was trying to leave dealership
Thank you for making this video it literally is speaking to me like an angel 😁😁 I'm getting very excited. 🎉🎉 As soon as Highland performance is available to order in Phoenix I'm getting it!! Stealth Grey black interior ( like yours and yours looks awesome) it is my first EV. I love the acceleration, tech , minimalism, stalkless design it's futuristic just to name a few.
You can use voice commands for most of your concerns. That is what I will be utilizing when I get the new performance 👍🏻😎
Hello Mr cellman1829. I have to ask, is that you in your picture? If so, you are mighty handsome I think you are the angel 😂😅 anyways, I have Ioniq 5 but love watching these videos about other EV ownership experiences
Long press the left scroll wheel to access the quick menu😊
That's why you need to watch the videos in the app before taking deliver lol
Probably the best tech of any car I have owned. Enjoy!
@0:42 you can see the swirls in the clear coat, those can be buffed out
Well done by installing the Tennis Ball to help park the car. Tesla Vision is still an issue to be solved
It all depends on use case. I've been using my 2011 Nissan Leaf now going on 13 years. Sure you lose range (30-35% loss), but if you treat the battery right it will last. I'm still on original battery. I'm holding out for an Aptera to be my next vehicle that is more than twice as efficient as a Tesla.
"I'm holding out for an Aptera"
I would wait and see what the new model 2 Tesla is like first (If u don't need to buy in the next 2 years)
Have you tried voice commands...?
To open glovebox push right scroll wheel speak “ open glovebox “ easy Peasy.
That charging point depends on the type of battery you have
Are there any voice control capabilities, like "Set temp to 72 degrees", or "Get directions to nearest Home Depot"... etc... or is everything you gotta touch the screen?
Yes there is.. If you hold in the right scroll button for a few secs it will prompt the voice commands and you can use it open the glove box, set the temp of the car, open the charge port, “ drive to etc…” for directions… etc
@@Hella916or try " open bung hole" ... it opens the charge port.
@@Hella916 Minor point, you don't have to hold the scroll wheel down. Just a quick press and release is all that is necessary.
Need to use voice commands.
I know this guy trys to explain the pros and cons of his new Tesla, but he should have done it after owning for little longer. A lot of stuff he complaints about (inconvenient way to control on screen) , there are shorter way to activate those functions. Just like the smartphone, there are multiple ways to turn on/off features on Tesla. People who doesnt't know about this might have misconception after watching this video.
Yes I should have owned the vehicle for much longer before making a FIRST impressions of a NEW tesla owner video
Go voice commands, faster, easier, safer.
This car I had a love hate relationship with, pros: Loved the acceleration, decent battery range. Cons: hated the big tablet screen I'm more used to a traditional instrument cluster. No apple CarPlay, that's a big one for me. The beeps this car alerts you with the loudness startles me, and no way to adjust the volume of it? No thanks.
Joe Mode reduces the volume of the beeps.
You still have much to learn, keep reading the manual, and watching RUclips videos.
Be sure to keep the key card in your wallet in case your phone dies.
👏👏👍
You said it right. There is nothing in the car and that's what makes it look so ugly and plan for such a high price for nothing. I don't think so.
It will be a great vehicle when the price gets down to $19000.00.
